- Tom has been involved in Burning Man for 15 years. He co-founded Burners Without Borders in the Gulf Coast, was Environmental Manager for the 2007 "Green Man" event, was the founder and Executive Director of Black Rock Solar. He and his wife Andie Grace live in the Bay area with their 3 year old daughter Juniper, who has attended 4 burns.
This is brilliantly put and really highlights many of the values of the community. I've been musing on how to bring more lessons from the playa back to everyday life, as well. Thank you for this Tom!

What I love is that BWB are most likely motivated from an innate drive to do good in the world, to help others when they can, because they reap great mojo payoff--not because they're doing what someone tells them to do to be a good person or trying to earn some kind of ticket to an afterlife.
Amazing that the city donated that much money.
