I remember the late 90s, when the future was still exciting to me as a young teen. Technology, consoles and computers were awe-inspiring. I no longer have that sort of excitement and awe today, but seeing that old PlayStation booting up brings a little bit of that back for a brief moment.
I love everything about the late 90s man, no internet, no smartphones, just couple of cables, a controller and legendary games on TV and Game Boy, then hanging out with your friends until night. Best years ever.
Exactly I feel the same way, smartphones seemed to have killed that because you can do everything on your phone now. 20 years ago buying games was as exciting as playing them, now everyone preorders digitally... wow how thrilling and exciting that experience feels.

I've never been able to become attached to a game's story since the ending of MGS. The only other game that I've cared about the story in is Valkyria Chronicles, and that's more of a visual novel within a game, anyway.

Metal gear solid is easily my favorite game of all time. On top of that the playstation start up noise combined with the konami intro makes me so so so happy. so many great memories of playing this with my dad when i was little. This video is amazing

Actually, people do like things like this, especially when it gives insight into the quality of the product. It's not like anyone wouldn't invest if they didn't get these sorts of things, but things like this do send a message to investors about the kind of products being made. Were there people who didn't care? Sure, but some people are very hands on with their investments and those people expect things like this. They want to see how their money is being spent. Those kinds of people might have continued to invest even in the event that MGS had flopped if they saw this package and liked the product. They might have said to themselves, "I saw that thing they sent me. It looked like the high quality product. I'm not sure why it didn't sell, but I think I'll hold onto my stock or invest once again." Anyway, the cost to produce a box like this in relation to the amount the people who invested in the product spent is worth it.

Everything from the respectable Sonic the Hedgehog movie, to the stellar Yakuza series, and the Sega Genesis Mini. Sega even puts out the occasional good Sonic game. If i remember correctly the JP version doesnt have a difficulty setting and it plays as if youre playing it on Easy mode. A main complaint by Japanese players when the game came out lol.

The book was the best part, all of it was good but the book was amazing.
