The book "The Myth of Normal" is really good for people that have gone through trauma... Like you said, not an easy read because to go through these books also mean it's bringing our brain back to that time in place to have more of an understanding, but ultimately once you get through the emotional rollercoaster of it it brings a lot of clarity.
