      @@eburneentertainment9903 Why not? It worked for you. Thank you very much for the video. I will try it myself too after the warranty expires in a few months. That shows how stupid sometimes can computer manufacturers be not to give us the option to upgrade some parts. And many times it is only for very stupid reasons like that screw separator in your video. How can a screw separator be an obstacle to make a computer more efficient???? It is ridiculous. Now, my question is if you could please update us with info of how is the performance of the laptop after all these months. Is it still working properly? Thank you, man

    Hey man, I get 4 hrs on my 51whr after 1 yr of use. Make sure you set the minimum load profile, no boosts and disable hw accelaration in browser, might as well turn down to 60 hz but 51hr was very well capable of doing 5.5 hrs and I believe 68whr can easily do 7hr+.
    To make sure u get the most from ur battery, open hwinfo amd ur 5600m sensors should be blank( means dgpu is sleeping)

    Is there any way to upgrade the screen? I have the 5505 with the 60hz display and I really want to change it for a 120hz.

    • @eburneentertainment9903
      @eburneentertainment9903  3 года назад +1

      It will almost certainly be possible, though I haven't looked in to it since I'm happy with the screen mine came with (I've got the 144Hz one). In fact, if you do attempt the upgrade, get the 144Hz screen rather than the 120Hz one because the 144Hz has a peak brightness of 300 nits vs 250 on the 120Hz one. For reference the 60Hz display is also 300 nits, so you might find the 120Hz display a bit dim

      @@eburneentertainment9903 do you know what type of pin connector does it have? Is it a 30 pin or a 40pin because i think the 144hz display only has the 40 pin connector and the 60hz and 120hz have the 30 pin.

      @@mariogrp I don't know sorry, I have taken photos of the inside of my laptop though if that would be helpful to you, or you can tell me what to look for? I'd be surprised if there would be a difference on the motherboard though, I'd have thought that they'd use a standard motherboard regardless of what options you configure your laptop with, but I could be wrong. My laptop doesn't have the RGB keyboard but there's an unused connector for it on the motherboard for instance, but that doesn't necessarily mean the same will be true for the screen I suppose

    • @mariogrp
      @mariogrp 3 года назад +1

      @@eburneentertainment9903 the only way to know that is by doing the screen replacement process which is pretty easy when you get to the actual screen it usually has a connector on the back which is the only one there that should tell you how many pins it has but I don’t want you to do that to your laptop because of me I guess I’ll just try to look for a 144hz display online that has a 30 pin connector I don’t really know if they exist.

    • @DodgerX

      also 144hz screen has 72% NTSC compared to 45% ntsc of 120hz and 60hz one and 144hz has 9ms response time while 120hz and 60hz has 20ms

    I'm looking to do the same upgrade with my g5 but on some sites the 68wh battery is listed as incompatible due to the different voltage - the 51 wh battery is 11.4v and the 68 wh battery is 15.2v. Clearly the difference in voltage was not a problem for you and l'm curious now that its been well over a year since posting the video if you've had any issues and if it is still performing as well???

  • @imnikshay
    @imnikshay 2 года назад +1

    I was literally just looking at this as well. Every 68wh battery I've found says its 15.2v.Dell
    lists the 51 wh and 68wh as both being 11.4. I'm curious to know if your battery was 11.4v or 15.2v ???

    • @eburneentertainment9903
      @eburneentertainment9903  2 года назад

      It was a higher voltage, I can't remember what it was off the top of my head, but you should be able to see it in the video if you pause it at the right point. If I'd noticed before swapping the battery I probably wouldn't have attempted the swap, but I didn't even think to check because the battery was sent to me by Dell for this laptop.
      Personally I'm still daily driving the laptop with this battery today

    I saw you add the heatsink for the NVMe drive, or just suddenly appeared when you cut the video lol. Do you have the new temps for the drive? Are they now in the range of Samsung temps? Wee they worth it? And while at it, what about the model that comes with the ryzen 9 4900h? Why you choose the 4800h?

    • @eburneentertainment9903
      @eburneentertainment9903  3 года назад

      Haha caught that did you? I'll have to test it and let you know. They only reached dangerous temperatures under a sustained load before, such as when rendering videos, so next time I render a video on it I'll take a look. I expect they'll be worth given that the drives were reaching life shortening temperatures before.
      My choice of laptop was entirely based on price to performance; I got this on sale for just under £600. I wasn't even in the market for a laptop, but at that price I couldn't resist, and I don't regret it one bit! I probably would have befitted from the Ryzen 9 when rendering, but I also have a desktop computer so I could always just use that for rendering as long as I'm at home if I'm that bothered, but most of the time I prefer the convenience of being able to edit from the sofa, particularly when I've been at my desk all day for work.
