Amazing storytelling! So nice to see those amazing lines being climbed but also hearing about the mental process behind it. It's easy to assume that all pro climbers doing stuff like that are absolutely fearless and never get scared, nervous, or think about the consequences. Thank you for showing us both sides. Also nice that you didn't mention any grades, these days everything needs to be V something or it is nothing...
What a fucking baller. I have so much respect for those who aren't driven by ego, follow their passions, and aren't afraid to share their emotions... Kudos to Ethan for being raw and authentic and capturing it in this amazing film. 🌟💓💎
Dear Catie, your directing voice was crystal clear. Thank you for your gentle, restrained, and intimate story, which complimented the nervous sweat on my fingertips as I watch. Please keep making more.
Another incredible video Catie! You've easily become one of my favorite creators, keep up the great work! Awesome sends Ethan, your mentality and love of a challenge is inspiring. Wish I could have made it to Kings Canyon this past weekend with MR crew, I hope it was a rad time!
Aww thanks Christian! Big love dude! So glad you like our stuff. Catie is killing it with the stories and edits. Kings was incredible! We’re sad it got so Smokey but stoked to go back next year.
So good, the depth and storytelling make it so much better than the usual climbing content on RUclips. Loads more work I am sure, but so worth it. Well done guys!
i love these profound interactions, like at 16:00 where in a matter of five seconds some people tend to have a deeper conversation, than most in a matter of years:) i am into short stories, but loaded with meaning:)
Well none of the boulders we did actually have bolts. We theorized that some “could” if they were at a sport-climbing area. But most of them were actually pretty safe with enough pads
Very good, but next time please don't "fast forward" during the actual climbing! Don't tell me that people have so little patience that they cannot even see a short boulder climb all the way through. The smooth, almost ballet-like movement is what makes the top climbers so impressive to watch; it touches the soul.
Part of it is that I think our grading system is extremely flawed. I think every problem deserves a range. In my experience, grades can cheapen the experience and put what the viewer is watching into a box, into a hierarchy and into a ranking. This film was less about hard sends and more about telling a story of my relationship with fear.

Aww, music to our ears! Yeah, I am always scared haha. I feel like I have a healthy amount of fear compared to other pros, but I guess I like it?
This is SO GOOD! Favorite video of Ethan, ever.
😘

Thank you so much! So so glad you liked the film! I might still be at least partially driven by ego though 🤐

Catie says thanks so much! And the plan is to make more! 🤞🏼❤️‼️
Exceptional lines, beautiful visuals, great music, and lovely storytelling. Absolutely loved this!! ❤👌
Aww thank you!!
Can't wait for this to go live, literally sitting waiting for the count down to end right now!
This deserves so much more attention! The storytelling of this video is insane.
Aww thank you! So glad you liked it!

Haha yes, editing the mini-docs is a huge undertaking. We’re glad people watch and like them!
This is like a return to the old school days of trad climbing. Respect.
So sendy, fun, honest and well put together. Warms our black little heartses 😊
🖤💗
Damn, the boxes... Seem so obvious now that I've seen it :) Amazing climbing, scenery and storytelling.
Ha yes, who knew cardboard boxes would be so revolutionary!

We try to go deep. So glad you liked the film. Thanks for watching!
Very high quality, fun to watch film!
🥰
Loved seeing little Ethan!
👶🏻🥰
This is so rad! Love the vibes.
Beautiful film! I like the cardboard boxes idea
Loved hearing your thoughts and process behind approaching highballs
🙏🏼
Amazing cinematography!
Insane video, instant like and sub, so glad i got this on my feed
🙏🏼‼️
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching dude!!
Stellar!!!
Crazy that these were all first ascents, they look so iconic how have they not been climbed before :O
Right?? I was very surprised too. 2/3 of them were either in a heavily trafficked area or could be seen from a heavily trafficked area
@@ethanpringle Mad. Well props to you for the FAs!
Seeing Eric Jerome in this video was super surprising but cool af!
Total ledge
“Are you unhappy?”
Another banger guys!!
😔😂
Yew, psyched cornerstone made it in here! Such a rad climb, and the sit had some cool moves, so good to put it up!
Such a beautiful line! Nice job opening Basecamp and Cornerstone stand! Such quality so close to the road. Just the way we like it.
The sit is really incredible! And the stand has some of the most fun moves I’ve done in Rocklands
@@ethanpringle did you end up having to hand jam in the crack for the sit? That is the only way I could make it go for me when I tried it
What a beautiful place. Great video!
Thanks for the pads dude!
Amazing!
This is crazy good bruh
Stoked!
Just beautiful 🤌
🥰
Very good, nice storytelling
🙏🏼
This is a great video! What is a boulder over a climbing route with multiple bolts on it? I just consider that solo.
Well none of the boulders we did actually have bolts. We theorized that some “could” if they were at a sport-climbing area. But most of them were actually pretty safe with enough pads
Spice level high, but Ethan’s control makes it all look reasonable. Such a technical climber, he finds really stable movements and positions
🕺🏼
Amazing video! So many proud lines. Just wondering what area the wink is in? And if its easy to find?
@@joshfitzpatrickcouzy7075 it’s across from fields of joy, kind of above Ubuntu!
@@ethanpringle amazing. Shall check it out next year. Thank you🙏
We can be warriors poets and lovers all in one day.
So true!
One move in, chalks up
😂 it was humid that day
Highball or bolted route?
Yes!
Do people spot while highballing?
@@sarthakbhole3724 ppl “spot”! but once you’re above a certain height, there isn’t a ton your spotters can do
5:38 👂
This was probably passed down to Jeremy by D Griff aka young strong Dave
Aaah! That makes sense! D Griff the legend
Why do I feel like ethan and arlo are the jerry moffat and ben moon of our day?
Who’s arlo??

Muchas gracias!

Why don't you put grades on the boulder problems?, is it that " trying to be too cool" factor?.

@ethanpringle nice answer ❤
#climbingitsmorethannumbers
Alex Honnold brought me here.
Question is.. did you test and validate the cardboard method 😂?
I did jump onto the boxes and it is in fact a very cushioned landing!!!
Heady asf😅
Who’s the massage girl? 😂
Haha that’s our Physio friend Kahla who has a practice at basecamp!
Brother that is a sport climb 💀
Lohan led it on gear 😬
So the crew are not climbers. . .
The crew were climbers!
