This was the happiest accident for me... I was searching for New Orleans stuff on RUclips and ended up on a tuba skinny video, and of course, fell in love with the music; seriously how can you not??

I've watched a lot of tuba skinnies videos and I find this woman when she's sings she sounds better when she stands up.
I love how well Shaye directs everyone from her seat and they follow seamlessly, I always get the feeling it’s a top class jam session. I mean that as a compliment as I’ve always felt many musicians where are their best in that environment.
And I love the way she wears short skirts sitting in a chair. Two shows for the price of one!

I was here I think around 2009 and stumbled on The Spotted Cat after being disappointed with not finding this on Bourbon Street. What an amazing night. Most of these musicians were there but I remember they were calling it the Progressive Jazz band. If you're looking for real New Orleans music forget Bourbon Street and walk down to Frenchman Street.

This is brilliant, just brilliant. I love the way Erica seems so concerned whilst she is singing that it appears one of Robin's thimbles had flown off and seems to land at her feet. You could not get better than this natural talented band and with a singer that good there is no better band. Miss Erica being with them regularly but makes the thrill so much more when she does. Oh how I love them all. Xx

I've watched/listened to this 10 or more times (love it), and what I'm really impressed with more than ever is how Shaye subtly directs the band with just-in-time instruction on when breaks are taken, when to play quietly, when to do a soft harmony. It's all in her head and she gets the band to do it. All credit to the band too for being right there.

I could imagine watching this band and not having that feeling of embarrassment (for the band and everyone in the room) unlike 95% if the bands I've seen in my life. Great job! I'm playing along on piano. Learning some new chord progressions.

As a working musician (trumpet and keyboards) I always find it interesting how other musicians tap their feet to "keep time." It's interesting because most of us aren't even aware what our feet are doing, I mention subject because I was watching Shaye in this video clip. That girl has BOTH feet going part of the time! She got her mojo goin' in high gear! ;-) Love Tuba Skinny!

What a lineup for the band!
Could listen to this 24/7.Shaye is so talented that at ca. 3.00 she can tap the tempo with one foot,and a slower tempo with the other foot! You try it - it's like rubbing your stomach with one hand,and tapping your head with the other!!
The first few notes knocked me out what a band, what a singer, I was looking for a Doris Day song, move over Doris, Tuba Skinny has taken over the deadwood stage.

Love this band! Such talented musicians.
Just two nights ago, I stood four feet in front center of Tuba Skinny for 90 minutes. After following them so long on RUclips, I was planning to go to NO to see them, and they miraculously came to my city on the last of their most recent tour. These musicians are the real deal - and very, very nice people as well. Stop the comments about Shaye not smiling...her beautiful smile lights up the room and she is totally wonderful as well. I guess Erika was having a bad moment when I handed her a twenty and told her she has an amazing voice, etc...she probably needed to use the restroom or something. I guess we all have our bad moments. I became acquainted with them and found the rest of them all delightfully approachable and not jaded at all. They love what they do, and it shows. I tipped them well and went home happy. They are becoming more and more famous with every year. When you see them live, you will really understand why. The venue was packed to fire marshal limits all night, and it was mix of all ages, and the response to every number that was played was downright raucous. I loved it. So will you. Catch them live when you can.

A friend recently regretted never having seen digitalalexa or any other of the videographers who serve fans of this band. This video actually does show us digitalalexa. From about the 40 second mark you can see digitalalexa wearing blue and reflected in the mirror above Todd's tuba. I've exchanged notes with Judy and Al, James Sterling and some others who have filmed the band. They--like everything associated with Tuba Skinny--are wonderful folks.
