@paavoilves5416 im stuck on the 4K for RENT 🤯👀 RENT? bruh is crazy. Not even including what you were talking about the median...youre right it's INSANE bruh...
im not even going to lie, as a music producer that has been chasing to achieve what you have achieved since 2012 while working 12 hour shifts at a plant and keeping up with rent while giving it your all to try and make something shake I appreciate your honesty man. It is honest, thorough, and just factual. I know this video is far from a "motivational type video" but lowkey this motivated me. just the way you approached the content and were very open about everything. thank you man. thanks for helping not only me but others as well trully get a more clear insight into what its REALLY like once you do reach a certain point. big love L. Dre
That's the hardest part of being an artist in the entertainment business you income is a roller coaster and you have to plan for the lean times. I come from the musician POV and to survive you have to multiple skillsets. Musician, arranger, recording skills for remote sessions, songwriter, composer, music engraver, video, and on and on so when one area slows you have other skills to get income from. Flexibility is key to making a living in music or entertainment in general.
I make a lot... but I don't spent it so freely. Since I was poor before, I know how far money can go.... and I never want to be that poor again, so I save what I get and I don't spend more than I need. My goal is to build a small place to live where I can get the cost of living really low and then never have to worry again.
I have amazing ideas that I can’t execute cuz my PC is terrible, I have an iPhone 6S with 16gb to film, LDre, honestly bro you’re in an amazing spot try to remember that. I have amazing content ideas but it takes me 3 hours just to TRIM a 10 minute video… I’m not complaining, just showing you things from a different perspective. I also feel like money is stopping me from achieving my goals. Keep killing it man
L Dre, I strongly recommend you checking out the book “Nomad Capitalist” by Andrew Henderson! I believe you’ll find a lot of answers and ideas to the questions that you ask yourself! Taxes, insurance, lifestyle, business, it’s all in there and it’s written in a super interesting manner! You’re giving us tons of help bro, would love to help you too somehow, at least with an advice! Peace brother 🙏🏻
That has always been my fear. when friends would ask me "why don't you try to do music for a living", cause it will take the fun out of it and add stress to a stress-free(and stress relieving) hobby 😅
I feel you man, I would have never thought streaming can bring in that much money per month. I see your store and its dope, direct to consumer is dope and its shifting to that I think, content creation is shifting to more natural I think too. I work full time at a day job and do music when I can, I hope everyone out there does great, keep doing what you do bro, you got this!
Paying four k to live/stay in LA is crazy bro. I lasted about 4 years in the inland Empire area. Chino, Chino Hills, and Pomona. Chino was alright, had a cheap house, and people kept to themselves. I live north now Sacramento and its great. A lot cheaper and the people are actually nicer. Good luck with everything. Try rumble its needing more producers and they pay like youtube esp if you bring an audience
@ldre_tv I feel ya. It's funny I took my name from a sushi spot I used to go to in Chino Hills called Ra Sushi. I used to be a chef and ypu always need a sharp knife so I choose ra sharpness. Have you ever heard of it? It was good
The listeners you have would be a major come up for me and you're much younger than me. LOL. You've done well man. But I understand; things are relative to what you've already accomplished. You know how to engage the audience and seem not to mind meeting people. So, I think doing videos where you are going to record stores in the L.A. area chopping it up with owners, and patrons would work. Then dig for a couple or records and make a song from it. Then you could take a trip to NY and ATL and do it. You could be one of the faces for that culture of crate digging. Think the restaurant review content lane just with not as much of the review, rather the experience.
@@ldre_tv LOL. A lot of people like myself aren't as comfortable even making videos talking to the audience. So if you can do it online, you can do it in person. You wouldn't be talking to huge groups at a time. It would be small interactions then placing your commentary over and editing the video. But whatever you choose, good luck!
Hi it’s Kord - Dude the whole biz is sort of this right now. You’re gonna make it though. I want to help. Haven’t heard back from emails but I’ll try again.
the key is to live below your means and dont let lifestyle creep show up. this is something you have to ACTIVELY be aware about. while you can not contribute to a Roth IRA you are still able to contribute two ways: 1) a Backdoor Roth IRA and 2) a traditional IRA and still get the tax reduction. you need to speak to your CPA to see other tax benefits to help lower your tax bracket and pay less in taxes throughout the year. one thing you can do is donate to help reduce your taxes
Sounds like time for a strategy change. Sync licensing could be good for you aince you have an established name. Plus you're in LA so i bet there are plenty of connections out there. Also, If you're not investing you should start. If you're still making good money the dividends could pay off for you so you can work less. You framed the video im terms of needong to make content to make money. I dont think thats the play. You are in LA where music and entertainment are in big demand. Spending more yime networking in person can probably yeild you better results.
i dont think taking a break will hurt because when you first started you had to build momentum anyways, so at worst youll have to rebuild some of it. you already have thousands of subs on youtube it's not like that's gonna change in just 30 days. prioritize yourself before you prioritize "content", no shame in sizing down either, some of us are still living that $60 grocery store life.
I don't know if this is a possibility but, if you can get a lot of content and videos made and slot them out in advance, like weeks, months ahead, you could appear consistent with your viewers and take a break IRL. Maybe just respond to comments on days when you have a video coming out, supposedly good for algo
Property these days isn't people wanting to collect rent. People owning the largest wealth use property to move money around. It is not a rent business for people at the top anymore.
Your personal expences are too high, if you can't hire a video editor. YOU don't need a video editor, YOUR BUSINESS does. Your business then pays you, to pay for your personal expences.
Fair point. I guess in all honesty I could afford a full time video editor but I just wouldn’t want to pay so much money for something I technically can do myself. That’s just something I’m still working on mentally I suppose.
@@ldre_tv I absolutely respect the fact that you're contemplating it. Example: It takes you 8 hours to make 1 song and the video content relating to that song. By getting a video editor, who will be a specialist meaning video is to her, what music is to you, you'll end up being more productive in 8 hours. You might be able to make 4 songs and she can make all the videos related to the 4 songs, all in 8 hours! That's 4 times the productivity! That's the point of delegation and division of labor! You should think of hiring people to be more productive(make more money), not to add more free time to your days. You'd get the video editor to multiply productivity. To be efficient. To multiply output & consistency. Drop a video every day(on each RUclips channel), an EP every quarter, a new sample pack every month, etc. = SALES *insert Mr carbs money meme* ALSO! ALSO! Fivver is a great place to start before you scale to hiring full-time employees.
Doggy you dont need to be in LA to be a RUclipsr. Every video iv seen of yours is in your studio, or 90% anyways. You could be on a boat and the view wouldn't know the difference. Move to the middle of nowhere in Canada,(but at least 1.5hr from a city), buy a house and start using that Canadian grant system to your advantage.
The thing is I just love it here and all my friends and family are here. It’s not even about the music industry. Shit I don’t even participate in any music industry stuff out here really lol I’d rather work harder and make more money to eventually buy a house out here than move somewhere else

People be saying "why don't you do it for love?" Love doesn't pay the bills bro... Wake up to the reality, money needs to be made 😂
bruh 4k a month is crazy
Bruh should leave LA and buy a house that's way bigger. There are other places that you'll get more for your money. 4K to rent? I'm hurting for you

“Consumerism is the key to success” is what every sell out has ever said in the history of forever. This sentiment is where authenticity goes to die.
Is it really "selling out" if noone is watching the original videos to begin with?
love these heart to heart videos with the family of producers
