- The Cambridge Air Solutions™ ESC-Series Evaporative Cooling unit is a make-up air system that has two-stage evaporative cooling and heating capabilities as well.
The ESC-Series is a semi-custom evaporative cooling product line. Product customizations include a variety of cooling, filtration, coil, and fan options. It is designed with two direct drive plug fans, but direct drive plenum fans, fans arrays, four curve fans, BI fans, and other fan types are also available based on the site-specific application CFM and static pressure requirements. The ESC-Series also can be constructed with zero-water-penetration doors and hinged access and lockable door handles.
The standard system has stainless steel construction and all equipment incorporated in the design of the ESC-Series is powder coated to meet a 1,000-hour salt spray test. In addition, Cambridge Air Solutions utilizes a post and panel, double wall installation frame.
The Cambridge ESC-Series product line utilizes a direct and indirect evaporative cooling process that provides cool, tempered air for manufacturing facilities without the use of compressors, DX, or chiller systems. The system’s technology is unique, using a proprietary indirect-evaporative media that provides cooling to a space without adding moisture to the incoming airstream.
The patented, polymer media separates the vaporization airstream from the cooling airstream. Incoming, vaporized air is drawn up through the indirect media, where it coats the media with water and transfers energy through evaporation. The incoming airstream then progresses through another section of evaporative media, separating the water vapor from the cooled air.
Additionally, two-direct media can be added to the second stage of the ESC-Series to supercharge the cooling effect for an additional seven to ten degrees of cooling. The two-stage direct and indirect evaporative process provides maximum cooling without adding mechanical cooling.
With systems that include direct-fired heating, the incoming air then enters the six million BTU direct-fired burner. An automatic bleed control system that utilizes a total-dissolved-solid monitor can be added to the ESC-Series to reduce water usage and mitigate the amount of bleed and dump cycles for the proper level of solids in the sump.
Cambridge Air Solutions™ has a commitment to enriching lives by helping building owners, facility leaders, engineers and contractors create safer and more comfortable working environments for their hard-working people.
