In college in the late 70s I was a fan boy of Bobby, following him to all his gigs and transcribing some of his solos. Now I am a fan old man, and still loving his artistry.
I tuned into this by mistake trying to get Bobby back on 'My one and only true love' love you bobby for depth of soul and I do mean soul Hoggy another favorite of mine🙂🙂
I first saw Bobby Shew when he came to Duluth, MN in 1980. Just FANTASTIC! Here he is, 38 years later, with that marvelous, marvelous tone of his! (I don't know how many of you know this, but he's the trumpet player on the closing credits of the Mary Tyler Moore show in the 70s. That bit alone hooked me as a Bobby Shew fan!)
I didn’t know this! I’m a total beginner but managed to learn that MTM riff today. Thanks for the inspiration. That F is close to my highest range right now lol
77 years old here and Bobby just sounds so beautiful!!!
