For anyone thinking about one of these; I got one last year and put just over 1500 rounds through it. At around 1450 rounds the barrel began to batter itself against the slide and the barrel hood is now so deformed that it will no longer go into battery. I did not notice it when firing but when I got it home and broke it down to clean it was obvious it is deadlined. The rifling in the barrel also has BAD chatter marks and the barrel collects lead to the point that I had to hone the chamber to prevent stuck cases and dig lead out of the crown. The crown was so full of lead it was flush with the muzzle. Lastly, it has the worst trigger of any pistol I have ever owned. I removed and polished all of the internals and it did remove a little grit, but it is still awful. If you really want one, make sure you can get your hands on it first to inspect it before buying. I don't think they are all as bad as mine, but I am sure plenty of them are.
I had a Beretta Nano for the same purposes! But also great advice SPN! I have told lots of people to learn your 'natural point of aim' meaning while at the range punching holes in your target, just bring your pistol up tp where you think is center mass, and fire. Do it again and again when you find your natural point of aim! I have preached this in the military, and civilian life.

That’s all I really look for in a channel like this. I’m just someone who wants the opinion of someone who is.

I have one of the earlier versions that I got for $225 after rebate. Came with 6 and 8 round mags and a removable rear sight. I swapped the sights for XS big dot Sights for the nano. Had to file down one side of the front sight a little bit for it to fit but it worked out great!
When this gun initially launched, it was closer to the $400 mark and I think that's what Beretta was aiming for. At that price point, no-one wanted a single stack 6 round 9mm. So then Beretta lowered the price to around $300 with a rebate. I saw it float around that mark. I picked up mine around this time when it was $300 with a $100 rebate. Then about a year later, I saw on PSA it was going for around $200 and the rebate was lowered to $50 but still was around. I think at around $200 this gun is a great deal. Both me and my brother in law have this gun, he uses his an EDC.
Speaking of rebates, another gun you have liked, the Stoeger STR-9MC, is only $232 including tax at KYGUNCO. After the $75 rebate and the $25 transfer fee, it was only $182. It has the certain states two 10-round magazines. The mags are the only drawback, but still a great deal. I just picked one up from them even though I bought one last year.
Got my daughter a shield plus on Black Friday sale.. tritium sights, new gen ct dot.. three mags and a range bag for $417 🤷♂️ Idk what happened it was supposed to have the old gen 5moa dot and three dot whites lol.. but $400 worth of adds on a $400 gun 😂😂
Followup comments after I've played with mine for a bit. First, my trigger didn't have the grittiness you mention, but I feel the "false wall" you talked about. I think it's a function of the trigger safety engaging. If I manually compress the trigger safety first, that vanishes. After a bunch of dry fire pulls (but not as many as you did!), that false stop has already softened. With my laser target practice, it seems I can aim it nicely (as my fairly beginner skill level, that's a big deal!), so I think this will be a useful addition to my carry routine.

I grew up with the Tueller drill so I find myself wondering how they defend as a "good shoot" @ 25+ yards. No argument that red dots help us with aging eyes at distance but every encounter I've read of self defense use is up close and personal so I agree with your point on red dots, lights etc (except maybe for in home defense only).

Your pistol should be an extension of your body. If you are constantly switching it up, there is no way you can be as comfortable with every one of them. I use a carry rotation (from calibers 380-45) as i carry 24/7 and depending on where I am going and how I am dressed and yes I do regular range time with all my carry weapons to stay proficient with them

In any case though, all of his carry rotation guns have the same "manual of arms", which is simply to point and shoot. Only a couple have manual safeties, but as far as I know he doesn't use them.

That's always been a tough decision for me. I understand the point of a light and that one may be necessary one day (even if unlikely)... but I'm really not a fan of having to carry a gun with a light (for several reasons). Having a regular flashlight instead has its pros and cons also (like taking up your support hand, which may be needed for other things). It's not so black and white for me... so I've never come to a conclusion on the subject.

When will we see the Equalizer review? One of the best handguns for ccw. Better than shield for many people
I've heard these have a history of light primer strikes :(
God bless you good sir sorry I haven’t commented in a while! 👊🏻🇺🇸
Me just waiting for the echelon compact review from SPN before deciding to buy or not
If you decide otherwise I'd be more than happy to have it a new go pro 11maybe😊
The extended mag ruins it for my purposes. Give me a flush fit 6 rounder and I'll be absolutely fine.
I rather get the walther pps m2
My wife Carrys the Walther pps m2. Great gun. Not worth paying double and destroying it during work carry.
Stoeger STR-9MC $230 with $75 MIR. Better gun, less money
@@michaelsweaney3890 It's not a better gun. I had a 9mc and put 3000 rounds thru it and it finally broke. One day I pulled it to test my carry ammo and nothing. It's at Stoeger now but I don't really trust the gun anymore. I think the Beretta is much beefier inside and probably had a much bigger development and testing budget than the Stoeger.
@spnfirearms I paid $300 for mine at rural King 2 years ago. Carried it daily in my work truck and lunch bag no issues and still looks great
Came close to screwing up on one of these luckily I changed my mind at the last minute and bought a Glock
My wife loves hers in this same color
I bought 2 of these about a year ago. I like them the way they feel and shoot, my daughter takes one from time to time and she likes it too. I also have it in my carry rotation. I received the rebate on both guns, with no trouble, and better now mags are more available than they were a year ago.
Wasnt a fan of mine, complete trash. Hope you got a good one
Make up your mind
You’ve never changed your mind after using something over time? Weird.
Danggggg
Sure changed your tune…
That APX is garbage. Single stack mag and trigger stinks. For a cheap rebate gun $200 or less I go with Taurus G2, G3 or GX4
I am not using a Taurus anything for pocket carry as a new construction plumber. I pocket carried my gx4 for a month and it rusted every single day from sweating. Zero chance I would carry that. Work carry is what I am using this for. You must have not watched the video.
@@spnfirearmsyou could have left it at im not using a taurus for anything and most would understand
Doesn’t make sense to me that at your job they don’t know you carry when you have thousands of views talking about edc guns on your channel…. 🙄
My work knows, the companies don’t that we work for……. Are you serious?
I work where weapons aren't allowed by employees, but the general public coming in and out there's no problems, however I carry every day for my protection, some may suspect but no body knows, and actually if they ask my answer would be to kiss my a**, they can't put their hands on me or search me. So be it
@@spnfirearms ok thanx i really didn’t get that at first👍👍
@ that makes sense 👍
@ Agree 👍
Nice budget pickup SPN! What happened to the FN 503? The 503 is still one of my most carried and used micro 9mm. That is still the gold standard of tank to me! I love how it shoots compared to most micros. When I carry, I like to carry with confidence knowing I can hit 2 to the chest and 1 to the head if necessary while maintaining accuracy! Keep up the great work!
