The only way this interview was secured was by agreeing not to ask any challenging questions. 👀 John Deere has issues with the level of integration in their equipment and the lack of repairability ; monopolistic practices to name a few.
Because Tesla does a better job, right? The topic was the tractor. I doubt a farmer or let alone a standard technician would understand how to fix a stereo camera system. You’re missing the point of the video.
@@Pocketnow the point of the video is clear. It’s actually a very informative and well put together piece. Thank you for it. But when you’re dealing with a corporation that has such a poor reputation, I’m sure it’s no great surprise that people call you out for it. John Deere has used the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to prevent user repairs. A farmer can’t opt out of their subscription service even if he she wanted to and have to ‘jailbreak’ their tractors with pirated software. iPhones are one thing, but peoples livelihoods… well… 10,000 people walked out on strike just a few months ago over conditions at John Deere. Every time I read a story about John Deere, it just seems as if they’re not on the side of farmers at all. Just another tech firm. Anyway, thank you for another great video, but it came across like a little bit of an infomercial about John Deere rather than a piece about tractors in farming specifically.
@@Pocketnow this is your answer to legitimate concern by belittling and dismissing and pretending no one else then the John Deere technician can do the repairs that has been proven to be false.
@@Pocketnow "The topic was the tractor. I doubt a farmer or let alone a standard technician would understand how to fix a stereo camera system" YOU ARE SO SO WRONG JAIME! There's a huge struggle about this, how these machines are black boxes, without need, that the "owners" can't touch. It's ridiculous to be at the mercy of a service somewhere at the cloud, farmers are becoming "hackers" to be able to properly use these machines.
Did you ask them why they do not let farmers repair their own tractors that they own? Without going to a John Deere technician for a repair that they could have done with lower-cost?
@pocketnow The technology is fascinating and thank you for that. But this conversation had to have some mention of right to repair. You could ask them politely and they can respond from the script. But ignoring it completely makes it look like infomercial and not coverage/report. Telling everyone in the comments they are missing the point isn't helping as well. Please listen.
This company is really putting money into marketing, a lot of tech channels published videos about this thing. I imagine that it's necessary because this segment is very competitive actually. As well made as this thing may be, autonomous tractors aren't new.
👎John deere is terrible to both their employees and customers. Nearly unsubscribed to you over this crap.... New tech doesn't matter if the farmers can't get the crops in because of their policies.
Finally getting to sit down and watch this! This is just so interesting I love that yall posted this!! I love all things tech, but as a girl who's born and raised in the country in NC I get just how amazing this is.
U said it Fascinating that's the word I was looking for. This was such a cool story to share. The way this was done was so simple and chill and u can understand eveything being talked about. Like I said I live in NC and there r farms all around me so I really enjoyed this and I get the need. I knew that John Deere had Tech in their tractors 🚜 but I didn't know they were doing this. I knew they had hands free but didn't even think about autonomous driving. This will help so many farmers in so many ways. 👏🙌🔥❤💯
first you take money from oppo and vivo to sing their praises now this ? I understand you need to make money but doing paid reviews is not it since it destroys your credibility to be a unbiased reviewer. And this is the same john deere who make record profits but would not pay decent living wages to their employees.
Good coverage of this tech but i dont like the click bait title. This tech is no different from a rumba not driving speed limit on a random road with 0 interactions from the operator from beginning to end.
@@Pocketnow I can admit when I am wrong, the title was a question meaning you have to watch the video to come to your own conclusion which i have done. However I am not wrong about the rumba doing the same thing as John Deere
@@johnnymonsters9717 It's not the same thing, but also this isn't new. One reason this company is doing this marketing campaign is also because the competition between "autonomous tractors" is strong, this isn't new, I already saw tractors exactly like this one years ago in my underdeveloped country. The "tesla clickbait" it's actually appropriate here, making it seem more than it actually is.

Commercial Equipment Needs To Be More Repairable Than Smart.
Louis Rossmann want to know your location.
It needs to be both.
do they allow you to repair john deere tractors yet?
Yeah like that will ever be a thing
Went to boot camp with the grandson, cool guy.

John Deere better be fixing their machines repairability...
A company no one wants to deal with.
Did you ask them why they do not let farmers repair their own tractors that they own? Without going to a John Deere technician for a repair that they could have done with lower-cost?
I think most farmers would rather be able to repair their own tractors.
I think most farmers can buy whatever tractor they want dude. You’re missing the whole point of the video.
@@Pocketnow no I think you're missing the point
@@14akaz Yes, isn't like this is the only company making "smart tractors", they are a thing for many years already and not all have the same problems.
John Deere says that you can’t even change the oil in your own property without invalidating your warranty, much less perform repairs.
Here you go 👎🏻.

when would you bring it to california central valley

It's extremely hard to find tractor jockeys these days. This technology is the future.
