You should be truly ashamed! As a Canadian with a Métis great grandfather I am completely appalled. There should be very serious consequences to this 60+ years of fraud! I truly hope there will be.

I think, because her adoption doesn't automatically grant her indigenous status (or Canadian citizenship), she likely wouldn't be granted status.

If that is the community wants to think that's OK. The Wikipedia page says she was born on the Piapot reserve to a Piapot family.
Then it says she was taken in the “ Sixties Scoop” at two or three even though she was born in 1941.
Kinda wonder why she hasn’t bothered to set the story straight there even though it’s been up a long time.
The contributors got that idea from somewhere.
Would be the coolest thing in the world if she was actually born on the reserve and found her way back to her birth family.

She was born outside of Boston to an English-American woman and her Italian-American husband. Beverly Santa Maria knew that when she lied to her adopted Cree family. That Piapot's had never stopped looking for their long dead daughters that has been taken by the government.
Beverly's son did a DNA test that is a family match to her sister and niece. She lied. Then she lied some more.
