Most people do not understand the power of compound interest or are just impatient. However, for the average Joe, I think it's better to invest in the S&P 500 and wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long: many years, or just use an investment advisor and speed up your wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter.

It was heated with this big ass wood stove to cut cost. We push mowed the lawn (1 achor) so my dad didn't spend money on a riding mower. Some people are not living in reality. I have a cousin who works 28 hours a week on minimum wage, lives in an attic he rents from his boss who takes the rent right out of his check...and still (for 30 years now) talks about moving out of town, finding a better job, buying a RV and living on the road. Yet he has no driver's license anymore and won't do anything to get one. He literally doesn't have two pennies to rub together and rambles about how people need to put some money in savings, some money in stocks, some money in toy collectables...and guess which one of those three is the only one he has any "money in" at all? The toys. 53 years old. I'm 49 and make probably 20 times what he makes, and made $219 grand the year he was rambling about money advice. I told him I'd help him get his driver's license, give him my old washer and dryer as soon as he moves, etc. Never did anything to move ahead in any way. I just wanted to rip my hair at and yell at him.

well his reasoning for pushing people to get therapy is that in alot of cases ( this specific one isnt as obvious ) the people he has on show obvious signs of mental health problems that more than likely directly result in bad habits or addictions such as spending alot of money. if these bad habits arent addressed, its gonna be far harder for these people to improve. caleb has mentioned the price of therapy (i cant remember which episode off the top of my head) and explains that the money invested into it is far less valuable than a good state of mind. i know caleb has offered to pay off collections for atleast one of his guests if that guest was to achieve a goal they set for paying off debt. perhaps caleb would be willing to fund therapy for a guest if the situation was that dire.

@ViralCog someone doesnt have to be "bad" to be yelled at. if someone is in denial and unaccepting to change, softly talking to them like a toddler isnt gonna help. every guest on this channel understands beforehand how he conducts his video and can opt out at any time. when someone makes a mistake (doesnt matter if they're a good person or not) you still have to let them know it was a mistake and if they're in denial and unable to accept what they did was stupid then you have to use some verbal force to communicate the seriousness of the mistake. so what if he makes money from his youtube channel? its free to come onto the show and the show itself can be a good example of what not to do. he doesnt make money off the struggling people in his video but instead provides a cost free way of receiving advice either directly from him on his show or from simply watching his videos. caleb always apologizes to the guest if he loses his temper with them or ever comes off as too aggressive and constantly reminds them he isnt mad at them as a person but instead frustrated at the situation they are in. he becomes frustrated at the guest when they cant accept the truth and rationalize everything with excuses.
