UK growth is exceeding analyst expectations, integral to this has been the service sector supported by wage growth which is outpacing the rate of inflation. These aspects present challenges in themselves and George Bell, Portfolio Manager, looks at recent comments from Bank of England Chief Economist Huw Pill, in which he states that monetary policy needs to be restrictive to squeeze the persistent components out of the system. Will the Bank of England cut rates in August or hold?
