Dreams often are the processing of subconscious thoughts and fears, it might be due to the constant fear from covid such as not even being able to hug your family etc these sorts of experiences are built on an underlying fear of death or spreading death due to covid so it’s sort of natural that this theme is coming through in more obvious scary ways on your dreams. Listening to white noise or eating certain food instead of others before sleeping can help decrease the intensity of dreams, but maybe trying to focus on the things you’re doing to stay safe and what the people you love are doing to stay safe could also help? I hope it gets better soon here is a friendly robot for you 🤖

haven't watched a pj video in years. i left the whole youtube world when i was 17/18 yo and now, this... this is the first video i get to see and i couldn't be happier about it. i'm not a gamer, i don't play anything, but this really made me think about buying kind words and i think i will. i've been feeling really down lately mostly because covid is preventing me from seeing my girlfriend and this is very stressful. we've been together for 2 years and 9 months and it's a long distance relationship. we live in the same state, at about 300 km away from each other, but unfortunately this state is italy and you know how life is going here. what i'm trying to say is that i get lonely. i know i can count on my loved ones, but then i spiral and i find myself stuck in this loop of anxiety, depression and discouragement. i like to think that the people who messaged pj on this game and pj himself need to know that they're not alone in the world and that we all feel terribly bad sometimes. just, hang on in there and if you ever feel sad... send me a letter x

You will get to see her soon :) There are so many other ways to show love and affection than physical touch. As you said, you're not alone. I know depression and anxiety can be tough, it's fine to have bad days. Just remember to take care of yourself, even when you feel like you're not worth it. It gets better, it really does. fuck dude i needed this today. my cat who has lived with us my entire life got put down this morning. watching this video i was fully struck with the realisation that i'll never see her again and she wont be there. she wasnt the biggest fan of physical affection but she was always just there, wandering in and out of the room and now she wont be there to do that. im gonna miss her

Oh man, I used to 'play' kind words all the time! I've gotten some really great advice on there, letters that I still think about several months later. Having dreams with death in them tend to relate to change. Our brains change the fears & worries we have from change into death so it's easier to understand. Needn't worry, I think it's just the stress from moving house, having a new pet & covid. You'll be fine PJ!

I’ve had a dream one night that my brother, who I get along quite well with, had died of a chronic illness. I remember feeling really miserable over it during the dream, and when I woke up I had tears streaming down my face. I had to make sure he was still alive, and I was beyond grateful to find him sleeping peacefully in his room. It makes you really treasure your loved ones.

I used to wake up crying from very emotionally-driven dreams (oftentimes angry or sad) pretty often. It helped me recognize that because I'm able to emote while literally unconscious, the emotions I experience everyday are always true, real, and valid.

hi! im not sure if this helps but when dreaming about death it generally means an end of a cycle or a change in life. if you wanna know more about your dreams you can look up dream interpretations and search keywords like ‘’death’’ or ‘’someone chasing me’’ you’ll usually get very specific and accurate results

I also deal with a lot of fear regarding death and it also tends to manifest in my dreams. I think its so natural for us to think about or dream about death when we're faced with it on such a large scale and in such a life-changing way. I try to make a point about thinking about death and feeling my feelings about it, and I try to accept it, although that's never completely possible.

Hey i've been having lots of death related dreams too, I've assumed it's underlying panic about the pandemic. But death symbolism often represents new beginnings too, and can be very positive ! Make sure to try not to suppress any negative thoughts you are having during the daytime if they do arise, try and deal with them logically and sympathetically as soon as they come into your head - this could help prevent the nightmares a little bit. take care of yourself x

I've been having sort of the same type of dreams, where death is not coming towards me, but my family and friends. I wake up crying because they seem so real, I just can't sleep, but I've started watching a TV show that has helped me a lot. It's just a very happy show and the nightmares are slowly going away. I've only told my dad and my best friend. But this video was very sweet and it made me really happy. Thank you PJ for posting this video, and whoever's reading this, hope you have a wonderful day.
this game reminds of an indie game i played a while back called Paper Boats. Very similar concept but you couldn't reply to anyone, it was just anonymous letters.
i think both of these games have a very unique atmosphere that individual to each game, but its so nice to see the kind people that interact on these games. sometimes its just nice be in a safe little game space and write letters to people.

I’ve been having a lot of dreams about death lately too, I think in part because my grandma died in July but also I think it could be to do with the fact that we are currently living in a pandemic, I guess there’s that looming threat and those feelings of anxiety that come with it. We may be trying to stay positive during the day but yeah I think that those subconscious worries can come out at night as we dream. Dreaming of death of loved ones may also indicate just general non-death related concern for them and being chased by someone wanting to kill you may be a more general representation of anxiety that’s not necessarily directly linked to death.
Whatever it is, whatever you’re feeling is valid and it’s also okay if you don’t know exactly what you’re feeling, just make sure you talk to someone about it if you need to.

Very heartwarming vid! Is it weird that Im kind of relieved (but suprised!) that you experience same dreams as i do?! Been having it since I was a kid but I still find it very unpleasant whenever it happens. Sometimes its so bad that I had check with my family and check if theyre still breathing or something. Hopefully, we'll get better dreams and get good sleep soon.

I'm no dream doctor either, but I do have ties to what could be called hereditary esp (don't look it up, the results do not actually tell you what I'm talking about.) I heard your dreams about death, PJ, and I did a tarot reading for you (I promise I shuffled them really well.) I pulled 3 cards for you, which could be read as past/present/future, or something less chronological and more in general things you're dealing with/influences/future things to look out for (being more precise requires the person being read to reflect and help the reader put some pieces together, but, if it applies to you, you can hopefully figure it out.)
I pulled all major arcana, and in order. However, they were 12, 13, and 14, which corresponds to The Stars, The Tower, and The Devil. Stars means hope, faith, and rebirth. Tower (usually seen as not so great) means sudden upheaval, disaster, and broken pride. Devil means addiction and materialism, but also playfulness.
In my experience, (or at least in the experience of family members that I get this esp from) death in dreams can mean many different things. Fearing death or experiencing fear in being chased/threatened/etc. usually means there's something that is changing in your life, something (depending on frequency of these dreams, which seems to be often) really important and will have a major impact on you, and you feel like you have no control and/or you really don't want it to happen. Specific people dying usually means that they represent something to you that you feel will be threatened/ended because of this change (you think of a friend as being especially generous and they die in your dreams as you're having financial troubles, etc. etc.)
Of course, this could all be COVID related, but I think that since this is really having a big impact on you (enough to wake you up in tears :'( I'm sorry you're dealing with that) it might be good to give it some specific attention and make sure you work through some your your stresses and try and cope without bottling it up or ignoring it :)
If it helps at all, usually death in dreams does not correspond to actual death. Don't worry on the actual death part, or worry about your or you loved ones' safety specifically. Death premonitions in dreams are only experienced by VERY few people (I just happen to be lucky enough to be related to one of those people) and very rarely include death as part of the dream.
I know this video is almost a month old, and I don't know if you're even going to read this/believe me, but I thought I would try to help! I hope you're doing better and those dreams have stopped. (Also, sorry for writing so much, but if you do read it, thank you!)

PJ, I do Twitch streams too and the last one I had done was starting a game that has some really depressing undertones. I'm in school for psychology and after spending the following day writing a paper, dissecting studies on some really dark topics involving depression, I really didn't feel like picking that game back up. If not for my own mental health, I didn't want to potentially feed into other's depression or trigger anybody who may watch my streams and be struggling. I have spent the time since looking for the right game to play that would have the opposite effect and make my streams a safe space! I think this video solved that, I'm definitely going to give this game a try. Thank you for sharing this and your positivity!

Hi pj- love this video and it inspired me to write a nice note to a friend who has I’ve been having a bit of trouble with. I’m sorry that you’ve been having such awful dreams. Sounds hard to be living in such a stressful time and not even be able to escape the stress when you sleep. I’m no dream doctor, but that would be my best guess. There is so much negativity in the world right now it’s hard not to focus on all the bad. But I think little things like this help. It hadn’t occurred to me really that it isn’t that hard to make someone’s day a little bit brighter. I’m going to try and do that. Like a really early New Years resolution. PJ, I have those dreams as well, where I wake up crying after having dreamt that a loved one died. With tears running down my face. It’s the strangest feeling. I only have those dreams once or twice a year. And I too, have never figured out why they happen.

Hi, I'm not a "dream doctor" either but I think these dreams you are having about death or dieing could be related to the pandemic, I mean the whole world is trying to avoid death right now ( I know it feels weird ). Your dreams are made by your subconscious and they don't always represent things in the clearest way. Maybe you avoiding to think about death could be helping. I think ( and again I coul be completely wrong) that if you work a bit on your view of death and how to deal with it maybe when you in the dream it won't be so scary because I'd have made peace with the situation. Again I don't know just trying to help because you're a very kind person and deserves not to wake up crying. Sending my love and good thoughts yours and your mothers way, hope you'll see her soon.

Hello there! I suffered with night terrors a lot a couple of years ago and it affected me so much I ended up talking to my therapist about it. These are some things he told me that has reduced the amount I have so they don’t bother me too much today:
Dreams are sometimes just your brain bringing up the worst stuff it can conjure to make you deal with those things head on and work through them. Of course with dreams it’s not possible to just ‘work through them’ so here are some things I did instead:
1. Once you are awake, try to not dwell on the dream too much, the more attention you pay it, the more it will keep cropping up. So in the waking world, try not to write/talk about it too much, but when you do, always address it with a sense of distance and calm.
2. Remind yourself it’s just a dream. I know that sounds obvious but if it’s taking up your thoughts when you’re not asleep then it’s ruling over your life too much. Just tell yourself it’s a process in your head and it doesn’t really ‘mean’ anything. It’s not a prophecy or a ‘sign’ something is wrong, it’s just a silly dream.
3. You will have them less overtime, but sometimes you will get days or weeks where they come back, but if you learn to minimise them in your head, your response will be less emotional overtime and this will lead to them becoming less and less frequent.
I’m not an expert or course. But I hope this helps, and if you’ve tried all of this already feel free to ignore. Have a great day!
