Sense I am a Gould, while stationed at Goose Bay, Labrador, I made 2 trips to St. Johns. I looked into the local phone books. There I located so many pages listening Goulds.. 1955
As bad as it was that mobile gear destroyed the fishery but a huge shame was that it was killed for 22 cents a pound. At the same time in the UK and Denmark cod was one to two dollars a pound. A crime against nature!

the same people complained when they closed the fishery, nobody complained while you destroyed the stocks

I guess we know what happened to the cod fishery.
The truth is the whales ate the tuna and that killed the cod fishery.
