In light of World Events going on right now; it is calming to see a SomersinAlaska video. I just have to take a short break and have some normal in my life...
I would love to see a video where you show us the meals you make. Just like your top 10 go to meals for different times. From daily quick and easy to what you would make if you were low on things and getting into you long-term supplies. Love y'all as always great video. I hope you have a wonderful day.😊
This video reminds me of my wife and me going on "shopping dates" when our 3 boys were early teenagers. With 3 boys, we had 3 refrigerators and 3 freezers as well as a dry stock pantry that we kept stocked. We also were foster parents and we usually had a total of 4 or 5 kids but as high as 9. Now, in our 60's we look back and say it was the best of times.
Thank you for opening your home to foster kids in the past! It can be hard, but it is so needed 💛 My husband and I go on shopping dates too, two refrigerators and three deep freezers to keep stocked!
We use Sams club because we don’t have Costco. They do pickup orders 24ish hour notice and they will shop and have it ready for you. But, you do not have to spend a certain amount to do it.
Yes, that is good to point out. I did ever so much enjoy watching today. Yesterday I watched the news and it was hard emotionally. It’s hard but their videos are fun rays of sunshine:) I can’t wait for the next Alaskan Apparel launch.
In my area,in Florida( central) the 3 biggies here are Publix,Aldis,Walmart...n dollar stores: Dollar General,Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree! That said, all of 'em are stocked...n many buy 1 get 1..sales! At the moment..we are good 👍!
Everything has gotten more expensive. Our weekly grocery bill went from $125-$150 to $150-$200.. I haven't seen any shortages recently in New Jersey. Jessica and Bert thank you for brightening our day. Your family and videos are a beacon in the dark. Praying for peace.
It’s been the same here in the state of Georgia. I went to the grocery store yesterday with my mom and she pretty much bought the same amount that she always does and it was at least $50 more. It’s getting ridiculous.
I'm also in NJ (South Jersey about an hour away from Philly) I have notice my grocery bill going up just a little but not as bad since I shopping at Aldi instead of ShopRite (only go to ShopRite for drinks) and storages there's plenty of them..
It is funny that you mentioned and seemed surprised that Costco was stocked. In Alabama and I went to Sams Club today and I told my husband that I couldn’t believe how well stocked they were. I asked what’s wrong with me? I freaked out earlier because they weren’t stocked and today I freaked out wondering what was wrong because they were stocked. 🤪😂😂
Jessica, I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ever since Covid 19 began, I have walked in a grocery store 3 times. I am 67 years old and have Heart Disease and Diabetes. I watch my 3 year old grandson who has breathing issues. I do not want to pick anything (germs) up and bring it home to him. I do all my shopping online for gifts as well as groceries. I shop at Kroger and they have shortages all the time. I never get my full list of things I order. It is ridiculous. I am, however grateful for what I receive. I just have to rearrange my meal plan. It is what it is. I just want to tell you and Bert, I enjoy your family vlogs. Your kids brighten my day when they talk to us on camera. Thanks for allowing us to see what your lives are about. Have a blessed day!
I love your videos :-) it fills me with peace to know that there are good people out there in the you are so wholesome and kind. Thanks for having this channel and filling RUclips with wonderful contact. You guys are awesome
It looked like you ran a red light lol. Our stores in South Texas have shortages for something’s. Also we still have limits on how much chicken you can buy. Just so long as I can get my corn beef later for St. Patrick’s Day.
I switched to Sam’s but only because it’s closer to where I live in Hawaii, but yes, prices have gone up and seem to keep going up every 1-2 weeks here. I’m sure it’s all over too. Keep being AWESOME! Sending warm Sunny thoughts and love 🏝Aloha❣️
I had to have some sunshine ( as in you all ) so ii came here to watch you all . To much gloom going on in the world and you all make me feel better ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🎈🎈🎈🎈 . GODBLESS you all

Prices in Indiana have increased. 2 years ago my grocery budget was around$75 a month (single person and 1 dog household). Now I expect my monthly groceries to be around $250. So comparable. If you have an extra budget with the world as it is, I would go back and double what you bought, just to be safe and prepared. I just did my monthly pickup last week and I am currently making out a stock up order to pickup next week. Always a blessing for me to have one of your videos come my way. Sending you prayers for all you may need prayers for.
Costco tends to be a little higher cost than Sam's Club, but comparing the prices in Fairbanks to Louisville, KY they are not much different. I have also been slowly relocating to Anchorage/Wasilla area and I believe Alaska has to be one of the most welcoming and friendliest States. There must be rude people as well but I have yet to run into one. I was told that ever since UPS located a hub in Anchorage, it has helped curb high cost because of the many flights in and out of the airport.
Logan Utah , yes we have Walmart & Sams club pick up & they are free for us no matter how much you spend . I love doing pick up super easy & usually they are very good at picking your stuff 👏🏼
😲Wow....that’s a lot of snow!❄️. Jessica, that was so cute and funny😂🤣you riding on the cart🛒in the store and Bert running right behind you!😁. It’s Good to be Joyful!🥰. I had guessed around $515. or $530. Oh my Goodness.. $800 and something!😳. Yeah, we’re seeing some shortages and prices going up! I’m Glad y’all are doing so much Better!🥰. Have a Wonderful weekend!💖
GREAT shopping haul... HUGS & BLESSINGS of Peace & Saftey during this very scary time we all are living in... Your Vlogs MANY times have helped uplift me through unrest whether it be a Life threatening bout of a Pandemic or Civil unrest... I ALWAYS look forward to your Fun, Loving & Compassionate VLOGS. THANK YOU SO MUCH Somers Happy Peoples. GBY ALL 🙏❤💙💖💖💙🤗✝️
Your Costco looks like ours. There are probably 4-6 Costco's all within 45 minutes from our home. (I live in suburbs outside San Francisco). I am not surprised at your order, my guess would have been: less than $1K. For hubby and myself we do about $6-800 every 8-12 weeks. And I get all things we want, and need. Your individual prices are likely slightly more because of your location. Good job!
My ballpark guesstimate is $3000. Take care you beautiful, original Happy "Somers" Peoples. Spring and tons of daylight is just around the corner. Your vlogs are so uplifting, and I absolutely love that are faith based. Thank you!
I haven't been in store shopping since covid started getting bad. I do on line shopping and have it delivered. I have noticed a lot of stock is not available and my shopping bill keeps getting higher. Keep safe from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
gas prices r crazy I put 62 liters o f gas in my suv today and about fell over it was $98 I have never in my life paid that for gas then went to the grocery store and spent $60 on a bag and a half of groceries I also live in Toronto and stores r well stocked right now maybe because more people can't afford it
Happy Thursday, SOMERS. I hope you’re have a good, safe day. I see that you’re doing more shopping at Costco. I love these shopping haul videos. Costco is a good place to shop. I hope you SOMERS have a good day. Continue on your road on getting the giant gold play button.
@somersinalaska....you need a “Berkey” it’s a water purification system. Two of my daughters have them and love it. Maybe your water there is purer but in the east it takes out added chemicals and if needed it even purifies river water.
Hi Somers family, I love watching your videos. I watch them wheni am getting ready for work in the or winding down fir for the night. Very calming. Thank you Tricia from Michigan
Ontario, Canada here. We were having a lot of issues with fruits, some vegetables and mostly ground meats and chicken. Everything seems to be better now, besides the hike in prices.
Philadelphia Cream Cheese is so hard to find right now. I knew I was going to be using alot of cream cheese during the holidays, so I bought what I thought I would be needing for all my recipes, not overbuying so other people would be able to find cream cheese. I only use Philadelphia. Times are getting so hard and they are not going to get any easier with the way things are going. I am so glad to see your family on yt this morning, I sure needed an escape from the news. I used to not watch the news but the older I get, the more I get like my dad, but now you do not know what to believe. Wow, yall sure have alot of snow, I can not imagine getting that much snow. Thank you for posting, I enjoy your videos so much.
It was a nice break from current events to see your video. Thank you Our local stores, Safeway and Walmart, are very low on stock but some things are still available but prices have skyrocketed. I will be going to Costco in Reno, 100 miles away, tomorrow as well as a Walmart so that should be interesting. Fuel prices on Tuesday were $5.10 and today, Thursday, the price is $5.17.
California? Thank you very much! In Boston here, I help out my mom with the groceries there. This is the kind of thing that she would stubbornly avoid complaining about.
You all are fortunate! I live in NW Pennsylvania. North of Pittsburgh. I see shortages in Pasta and crackers! This is all of our stores...even the Dollar Stores. Love your vlogs! I have been following you for a few months & really enjoy all of them..
I shop at Walmart online. Member of Walmart+ for 100 dollars a year so I have it delivered for free. So convenient and definitely worth it. But I will say the prices are definitely going up across the board.
I was close😊 I guessed $850! I don’t go into stores as I have a compromised immune system and with Covid I either do click list or for Costco I use Instacart. It’s so easy to shop online and let others shop for you. I have no impulse buys and I know how much I’m spending before I hit the buy button just in case I want to adjust my list.
I love watching your grocery hauls, im in the UK and the nearest costco is 3hour drive ☹️ as for your milk being out of date i never take notice of that we never had dates as children,😅 so if it doesnt smell bad its fine, stay safe look forward to the next video love from UK🇬🇧🇬🇧 ❤️❤️
Yup I so agree! Extra dairy goes in the freezer, everything freezes well with the exception of cottage cheese and sour cream..cream is ok if you dont mind lumpy lol.
Utah. Toilet paper limit of one or two, depending on which Costco you go to. Distilled water has been hard to find for over a month. That cauliflower stir fry is amazing!
Enjoyed the video! Wow! Almost $900? Yikes! Looked like you got some great deals! Glad you stocked up. Uncertain times. Stay safe & well! ~ Chris from NJ
Here on Cape Cod Massachusetts our prices are about the same as yours. Beef is through the roof and not always able to get chicken. Dairy is sparse on certain days. So good to have you back. Take care. Hugs and kisses to all. Oh gas is heading to 4:00 yikes. Guess we all have to tighten the belt a little more. Bye❤️
I just went to the grocery store this week and I spent almost $130 and that was just for one person! I about fell out! 🤯 I hardly had anything in the cart! 🤯 There have been a few shortages where I live in Florida. But not too bad. For some reason cream cheese is hard to find. 🤔
Yup spent $130 at Trader Joe’s. My husband was in disbelief! He was like “what did you even get?!?!” Lol it’s scary times. I think we should start stocking up.
You have to think of it in these terms, with the cost of Petrol you won't have to go back in to shop for some time. That is a savings in itself. So if you can cut down how much you drive around that is a big help for the budget.
loved the music along with the joy and happiness in the video. I had guesses $820. In Wisconsin. Everything seems lot better stocked now then it was a couple months ago.
Texas here my hardest thing to find is chicken gatorade and we been having trouble with finding brownie mixes and pasta. For about 3 weeks there was no creamer. We just found some.
That was about 200.00 more than I had guessed when you cashed out. I have watched a lot of your hauls. I definately think it reflects the increase we are all dealing with in the stores.
I literally choked on my water at that total. My guess was around 500. Holy moly. I live in Seattle and we can order delivery from Costco via instacart
I like using instacart from Costco in a pinch previously, but I can buy a few more items with the markup if I go to the store myself which I have been doing.
I guessed $1200 and was obviously way off. I was thinking with prices being more up there and then the price hikes - nope, I got this one way wrong. LoL
Hello from Anchorage, Ak!! It’s so amazing to finally see an Alaskan RUclipsr! You guys are amazing. Definitely have seen a lot of shortages in Anchorage and prices have been rising.
Our groceries have increased by approximately 30% over the last 6-8 weeks. Shortages are hit and miss. For example this week there might not be any paper plates/paper napkins and next week there will be plenty and no soup. You can’t really plan on what might be short. Today our gas prices increased to $4.059/gallon. We are in the extreme part of NY on the Canadian border. (Most NYers think we live in Canada - lol.). By the way, we are so remote where we live, we don’t even have a Costco. When you are on a fixed income and it normally cost you $40 to fill your car and now its $65, then add 30% to your grocery bill and we fear people will start to fall through the cracks.
I would definitely cut back on bottle water and get a brita pitcher and individual reusable water bottles . That is alot of money spent on convenience foods.
I live in North Carolina and I'm about 2 miles from the South Carolina line. It was 77 degrees here today 2/25 and our groceries are not even anywhere near what you are paying. I'm feeling great about where I'm from after watching this video!!!
My fiancé and I love grocery shopping together. It's actually how we fell in love! Going grocery shopping 🤣❤🤗 now it's our thing to do together. It's pretty sweet and brings my heart much joy ❤
Yea, just did a huge haul myself. In Pennsylvania we're back to limited items etc. Freedom Convoy and Inflation. Thankfully I live in a rural area. Let's go Brandon!
I'm in Tempe Arizona and I was at Costco couple days ago. I guessed you spent 1k and I was dead on if you had tax. You definitely got your money's worth on that purchase FOR SURE,! P.S I LOOOVEE YOUR FAMILY!!!!
We have curbside pickup and delivery at most stores in PA. Sams Costco local grocery stores. No charge for pickup or minimum, they do charge for delivery which if you have a delivery membership it’s $99 for a year unlimited for about 10 different stores with a $35 minimum for the free delivery. Definitely starting to notice increases, mainly with meats and chicken. Not noticing any shortages
@@kimberlycunningham4649 Yeah, My first investment With Mr Andrew Mitchem earned me profit of over $25,530 US dollars, and ever since then he has been delivering
I live in New York and they do have stuff at the store where they shop for you and they deliver it to your home it’s not a Costco but it’s at ShopRite stop and shop so all the big stores do have it out here. And there’s really a small limit I think $60 and up they deliver to your house and shop for you.
I'm in Scotland UK. Had to make some adjustments to shoppings lists but not because of shortages we're all good there but the crazy price hikes of certains things. Some things have doubled in price. I still feel very very fortunate compared to some areas of the world right now. X
In anchorage we still continue to see that they are seeking replacements that fill gaps if the normally stocked items aren’t available. Lots of things are hit or miss and produce has been sometimes barely half as full as it normally is.
Serious question, why do you buy paper plates ? Is it only because you can throw them away in the trash ? Here in Belgium (and Europe mostly) we never buy these, except for children's birthday parties haha
Where I live in Mo our Sam's club has been doing the bulk pick up ever since the COVID outbreak began. But it only costs $9.99 unless your a Plus member then there isn't any added extra fee's. Also if your a plus member they will deliver it to you within a 30 mile radius for free. And the delivery option is only for Member Plus.
I’m in Florida and yes the groceries are going up. I live alone and I don’t have a need to shop Costco or Sams any longer. My son is 40 and lives on his own with his family and my husband has passed. I was spending about 200-250 a month now I’m at 325.
Here in Wilkes county our local grocery store will shop and get ready for pickup In drive thru,,,,you just call give order and they tell you what time to pick up,, for 3% of bill
Our stores are all picked over. We have not had any frozen potato products in months. Living in Austin. I agree prices go up every time I go. My grocery store shops for me after I order online. It is $10 and to my high rise.
I'm from Massachusetts and our grocery stores like Market Basket and Hanafords have a lot of shortages. Empty shelves. A lot of stuff out of stock. The pharmacy is even having a hard time finding my meds because of pill shortages. It's scary. Worse though is how expensive things have gotten. Every week you go to the store prices are more expensive. Sometimes a dollar a week difference.
we can simply pass on groceries online in Sweden. everything goes in a safe. 1 FOR regular groceries 1 for frozen. you open the safe with your phone number and take everything out. the more groceries, the more lockers
We have a Sams Club in Dubuque, Iowa, not sure where the nearest Costco is. Our Sams Club is well stocked as well. Which amazes me, because our local Walmart isn’t very well stocked. And I agree about the prices, they’re definitely going up. A 24 pack of Pepsi is 11.00 here and normally it’s about 5.75.
i always enjoyed your vlogs and i look for them all the time specially when times are not to good i live in Mississippi and our stores are well stocked too great to know your doing well 😊
Well I was about 300.00 off...yes prices have gotten higher, but we do alot of our shopping at the military commisary and the prices have gotten a little higher here in Lancaster, Ca..but our gas prices are through the roof, we got gas at the base and paid 4.54, luckily we have a ford focus and it gets almost 30 miles to a gallon...love your shopping videos...take care and god bless...love Peggy 💚💙💜
Three Bears Alaska buys from Costco … the one off KGB in Wasilla was is out of the bulk stir fry veggies. They’re out of a lot of items we regularly get. Love all your videos 💕
The Costco around 20 minutes from us has been out of things off and on. Like we’ve made extra trips during the week hoping to get things. We’ve also driven to the next closest one that’s around 60 miles just over an hour to go to and they are in a larger city and generally are well stocked. Oops I forgot to say we’re closest to Yakima wa Costco and drive to Kennewick wa Costco
Here in Canada our stores are stocked nicely. That Costco haul is like us because we go for a few months to last us. I've seen a few price hikes on everyday stuff.. When you need to eat you just buy it. Nice haul always nice to have help for sure
In Pennsylvania (east side) and I haven't seen it to bad. I mainly shop at Aldis. Sometimes Giant will have a shortage of paper towels or something. But overall shelves seem pretty full.
Here in my area our warehouse store is not well stocked and fresh chicken is very limited, you can only purchase one rotisserie chicken per customer . Thankfully I am well stocked in my freezer and pantry. Thanks for sharing another great video Love you all .👍🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰
Even here in British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦 prices has gone up tremendously as well as cereal seems to be the hardest things to keep on the shelves in our grocery stores and toilet paper and milk are very high priced my grocery bill once a month went from 200 a month to now 280 plus a month as well as we have had floods and avalanches and mud slides wich delayed the trucks as well as other issues so glad your Costco is fully stocked
In light of World Events going on right now; it is calming to see a SomersinAlaska video. I just have to take a short break and have some normal in my life...
I was thinking the same thing
This ♡
Couldn’t of been said better
Amen....I know that our prices have gone up. As 1 person , I do not shop at Costco, but I love the store .
We shop at Sam’s Club, much closer but prices are going up daily. Very sad what is going on in Ukraine . Biden too weak to do anything.
I would love to see a video where you show us the meals you make. Just like your top 10 go to meals for different times. Yes Exactly me too!But I know all it takes is a few hours and it can be all gone!Thats what scares me!
I told my hubby the exact same thing! I went to Sam’s yesterday and got nervous Bc stock was good but prices…not good!
I went to my local Sams in Alabama and was shocked. I was expecting them to be low or out…

im so proud to see you both return your shopping carts. as a cart pusher i really respect that
Most costco goers return their shopping cart compare to other stores like walmart or target

New Zealand - Auckland. Some stores with a few shortages. Nothing drastic. Mainly full shelves at other stores.

Look at the ingredients on your pam. Mine had silicone propane in it. I was able to find and olive oil spray that didn't have those 2 ingredients.
Avocado spray for high heat! Pam is horrid…

@somersinalaska....you need a “Berkey” it’s a water purification system. Two of my daughters have them and love it. Maybe your water there is purer but in the east it takes out added chemicals and if needed it even purifies river water.
I love this family!! God bless you all always!! 🙏🙏💖💖
Thank you
Our local stores, Safeway and Walmart, are very low on stock but some things are still available but prices have skyrocketed.
I wish Ireland had cosco. I would be poor, but would still love it 😀
I was close😊 I guessed $850! I don’t go into stores as I have a compromised immune system and with Covid I either do click list or for Costco I use Instacart. It’s so easy to shop online and let others shop for you. I have no impulse buys and I know how much I’m spending before I hit the buy button just in case I want to adjust my list.
I living in the Netherlands and the prices went 6% higher. But no limit on things.
Always love watching your shopping videos!!! 😃 They are so fascinating to watch 😃
I freeze milk so it's usable and fresh way beyond the expiration date. Split the milk into smaller containers so it's easier to defrost.
My husband and I say we are going on a road trip when we go to Costco !! We love Costco !! Y’all are too cute !! 😀😀
You are doing what I do once a month. I always get one them role around carts. I always buy a lot of chicken. Thank you for the video I enjoyed it.
I agree, many people throw out perfectly good items because of the date on the package. If it smells bad, it’s bad.
I am also in the UK & think there fresh produce is very expensive. The price of cucumbers & corn on the cobs 😯
I hardly had anything in the cart! 🤯
There have been a few shortages where I live in Florida. But not too bad.
For some reason cream cheese is hard to find. 🤔
I can relate to that, I'm on a fixed income and it kills me to buy groceries anymore. I watch every penny.
I'm in Kansas & go to aldi for most of my stuff, which is cheaper for me & yeah they were out of cream cheese for awhile!
We have cream cheese in MS but not can biscuits 🤷🏻♀️
Yup spent $130 at Trader Joe’s. My husband was in disbelief! He was like “what did you even get?!?!” Lol it’s scary times. I think we should start stocking up.
We were out of cream cheese for quite awhile, but now it is cheeses
You have to think of it in these terms, with the cost of Petrol you won't have to go back in to shop for some time. That is a savings in itself. So if you can cut down how much you drive around that is a big help for the budget.
The prices will never go up on YOUR shelves! :) Good haul! Greetings from Tennessee!
loved the music along with the joy and happiness in the video. I had guesses $820. In Wisconsin. Everything seems lot better stocked now then it was a couple months ago.
My weekly grocery was $70 now it is $120. Crazy how it almost doubled! And I buy less than I did when things were cheaper!
Wow! So crazy where do you live? I like in California. I buy dinner for two weeks and it went from about 200 to 330$ this month. Very sad.
Yes, in Southern AZ, its like a hit and miss now when it comes to grocery shopping
LoL
I Love Instance cart and it helps me from NOT spending so much...if I go in the store...I SEE so much more Lol!!
Lets go Brandon, he did that;)
I paid $4.35/gallon yesterday at Costco in So. Calif. Up from $3.03/gal Jan 20, 2021. Ave. price in Calif earlier this week was $4.72/gallon.
I would definitely cut back on bottle water and get a brita pitcher and individual reusable water bottles . That is alot of money spent on convenience foods.
People just need to remember there's a difference in stocking up on essentials and hoarding/panic buying.
I live in North Carolina and I'm about 2 miles from the South Carolina line. It was 77 degrees here today 2/25 and our groceries are not even anywhere near what you are paying. I'm feeling great about where I'm from after watching this video!!!
Does anyone else work on their shopping list while watching these hauls? 🙋♀️
Why do they say--let's go Brandon--i hear it a lot ??
Ha my hubby calls it a date when we run errands together too. Really it is time together and that is why it’s fun
*People will be kicking themselves in few weeks if they miss the opportunity to buy and invest in Crypto as it's retracing....BE WISE*
Crypto is the new gold
I wanted to trade Crypto but got discouraged by the fluctuations in price
@@kimberlycunningham4649 That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like Andrew Mitchem
@@tomasbowater975 I heard that his strategies are really good!
Winter chores are never ending
In Central Texas, we have pretty well stocked shelves except for pet supplies & frozen potatoes.
I love you guys so much. You feel like family. God bless.
That bulk order option is awesome! We don’t have that quite yet here at our Costco in Indiana.
love the words of affirmations at the end for hubs!teamwork
we can simply pass on groceries online in Sweden. everything goes in a safe. 1 FOR regular groceries 1 for frozen. you open the safe with your phone number and take everything out. the more groceries, the more lockers
Hi Sweden. My Grandfather was from Malmo. Cheers.
Aye! So happy to catch it before bed!!!!! Much love from NC it’s 10:23 pm here ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wilmington here!
