I have never been robbed living in Nairobi even back when we had security issues over 15 years ago. But I was robbed in Paris about 3 years ago. Granted, I'd been warned to be careful in that part of town, but it still happened.
I dont believe you were robbed by the driver, Most probably the phone fell without your knowledge. In Kenya people no longer steal phones they can easily be traced
Glad you corrected your title, I am here because a pressor in my whatup chart group screaming with headline : FAMOUS CAMERONIAN RUclipsR ROBBED IN NAIROBBERY AT GUN POINT" many of youtube watcher do not have time to watch the whole video, will just pick the headline and run with it. You are at a level whereby your words matters and many are watching you. Nairobi is tourist hub and such headline could scare away many would be Nairobi vistors. We love you and wish you a nice stay ,. Karibu Kenya
I know you'll get a lot of push back from Kenyans about Kenyan Police but I've lived in Kenya my whole life and I understand where Kenyan's sentiments come from. However, especially in recent years, my experiences with Kenyan police have been increasingly positive. In most places if you are respectful and courteous to the police and show consideration for their tough job, they really come through for you. I had an accident in July and the wonderful police at Mutito a Ndei Were just wonderful. We ended up making friends there and even invited one our main handlers, Constable George, to our Wedding. We gave them a big tip (not a bribe) after everything was sorted and they even got us free transport to Nairobi on a Matatu that had also had a fender bender. Yes, you will meet the dark side of Kenya Police now and then but if you just treat them with dignity and respect, you will also see a lot of hardworking service providers.
Thank you Kelvin. I know the bashing police people get, when they are trying, it’s kind to talk commend their efforts. Thank you for sharing your story.
She kept the phone and did not go back to work. She knew our guesthouse, she has a car, why did she not bring it to the house? . Robbery is also intentionally keeping someone’s property when they need it.
@@thorfinn7291 ok Thorfinn, you are right about me jumping into conclusions, that is as a result of the points listed ahead. Robbery as a noun involves force but informally it is also cheating someone or depriving them of their rights or property. I agree I may be completely wrong with my angle, but that still stays my angle until I will meet with God. And I also want to let you know that I respect your angle.
Sometimes things have to go wrong before they go right. Sometimes you have to let the wrong people walk out to allow the right people to walk in... Sometimes you have to feel broken to realize you will never be shattered🦅🦅🦅
Her sister forgot her phone in the taxi, I'm surprised at how she keeps saying they were robbed, I bet the driver wasn't arraigned in court either for the "robbery".
Nice hearing that about Kenya if that happened in Cameroon 🇨🇲 forget it French police man na y’a mate? They will even asked you for money to help trace your phone as if they have a good security system but guest what come back the next day and that same person will ignore you like forgotten sins. The English police same like the French. What I witnessed at the airport in 2016 I was like who did this to us.
So your sister forgot her phone in the car but she was not robbed. But even phones that have been snatched are often traced especially if you report quickly. Kenya has fairly great intelligence services for tracking phones etc. Never be duped with the term Nairobbery, it is certain places that are known for that type of crime and it is not the entire city, just a few streets in the CBD and some few neighbourhoods. Crime in Kenya is no different from what you will experience in most cities. People just blow out things out of proportion and most have actually never been robbed, they just regurgitate what they hear...more stereotypical. Glad your sister got her phone back.
You are welcome come back anytime sister next time you lamu you are going to love it and navisha samburu turakana and and more to c you need 3 months or 2 month you you need to vist alot of places 2 c I just love about you when you were singing 🎶 in diani with piano man that is the time I new you fill at home and having fun the gest in the hotel really enjoyed you voice you sing good this video the ratings will be big in future sister🇰🇪❤️
I think this was not robbery. I think this is a matter of forgetting your phone, and the taxi driver not knowing how to reach you. Anyway, I am glad the Kenya Police were exceptional. They try very hard even though we complain about them all the time. Please write a letter to the Commissioner of police to thank them.
Robbery is an intentional, forceful evil crime done by a robber. Why do you call it robbery yet the phone was mistakenly forgotten in the car. Please change the title, because you are misleading your viewers.
Of course one can get robbed in all major cities in the world including Nairobi but it depends where one is plus other related security circumstances. However, your experience does not come close to being a robbery incident. Robbery is a very serious crime in Kenya that can lead to life imprisonment if convicted as it involves an element of physical use of force against the victim by the perpetrator which is usually very traumatizing. I think if you are to present a more accurate account of what happened to you, the title shouldn't read 'robbed' as there was no robbery but a simple 'misplacement of a phone' in a taxi hence the reason as why you got it back. If it was robbery, you wouldn't have found it easily although it could have been tracked somehow. Other than that, I believe Kenyans enjoyed your videos on Kenya and will still follow you no matter what.
Thank you Wamburu, I appreciate your polite insight. I changed the tittle. But trust me, she had no intention of giving us the phone because she could have brought it back to our Airbnb but did not. We called the phone severally and she did not pick. She did not know I had taken videos of her and we even had the number of her car, that’s why she disappeared for a while.when we presented all the information to the police, they had to find her and collect the phone.

I don't think this classifies as a robbery since you forgot your phone in her car. Was she arraigned in court after they got the phone?

You lose your phone due to your own carelessness aka forgetting it in the taxi then you make a full video trying to tarnish Nairobi. "I was robbed".
