Apex said in a podcast with Thorin that Zywoo is not just a good player but a good teammate to work with so it was probably cuz of that. Also objectively Zywoo has better stats over a long period of time than Kenny ever did.

KennyS has never even come close to the level that Zywoo is at. Zywoo came on to the scene and got #1 in his first year. Apex literally said Zywoo has changed the way he thinks about the game.

Its hard to compare zywoo and simple bc they have so different playstyles. Simple could just push through smoke and get 3 noscope kills when zywoo is taking one kill, changing position and taking another. Both of them are fantastic but as tizian said for me its simple just because of the work hes doing everyday. Sasha #1❤️
I think Zywoo is the better device. He is using positions like him but better. He is smart and he can get frags. But s1mple is kinda individual player. He is also smart but his decisions are so unpredictble. I think being the best means you need to be number one more as a player than as a team player so I would pick s1mple too.
I think zywoo is putting too much work too, we can't see it because he doesn't stream, but you can be 100% sure that he's working hard.
s1mple #1 for sure. Even HLTV said that the reason s1mple wasn't #1 was because of fewer team wins. Stat wise s1mple was better (if I remember correctly).

I feel like ZywOo/s1mple debate falls on the team winning factor. In 2020 I feel like ZywOo got #1 because of that Mirage map alone in the Final of IEM Beijing 2020
That map had amazing recency bias on people without them realising it.
As a fan of both players that seemed pretty evident to me.
Had s1mple played like he did in the first 2 maps of that series, people would have vouched for s1mple in that case heavily.
Good pickup though not many people seem to point it out anywhere.
