Hi Pam, thank you so much for turning this "clean with me" into a series! You've already inspired me to clean out and organize a box full of random ephemera and die cuts I've been saving over the years. I also finally looked through all my scrapbook albums and pages I made almost 20 years ago and forgot all about. It's inspired me to finally do something with them, so I'll be turning them into journals and album keepsakes for my daughter, nieces, and nephew. Thank you so much for your encouragement and inspiration! 💛
Good morning Pam! I hope you and Sunny are weathering the storm! The hooks are used on buttons that have hook on the backs! You could use to dangle charms or paper on the edge of your pages ! Take care during the hurricane! Tyfs ❤
I love finding stuff I've forgotten I had or thought I'd thrown away. Why is it so fun watching crafters organize--maybe it's because I like the detail? Maybe you could donate some of the pencils, pens, and overstocked stuff to a local school? The gift would be much appreciated. I hope you and Sun-bun are safe and dry--be well!
You hit the nail on the head when you said it’s really about remembering that you have these things to use. That’s a big reason to organize and clean every so often- just to remind yourself what’s hiding 😂 I hope y’all are doing ok after the storm ❤
I used my Gllimmer Mist colors to dye paper with. I just poured the liquid over paper that were in cheap aluminum pans and kept adding paper and allowed them to dry-it was in the 90s here. What didn't dry that day, I took inside and put under my fan over my dining table and they finished dying. If they were nearly dry, I could separate them and lay them out to finish drying. I got tired of trying to use the Glimmer Mist because the nozzle was always clogging up so I put the colors to better use. The papers are beautiful and quite unique. If you use the Glimmer Mist that have mica in them, you will have to use a spray fixative on them, either hair spray or a commercial fixative. Have fun!
I remember going to the 5 & dime and all the buttons hanging on a turnstile. I had so much fun looking at all the pretty buttons. I think this is the beginning of my addiction.
My mother who made men's suits, used these buttons inside the jacket on the back to secure the suit buttons on the outside , that way they would never fall
The metal clips on buttons are how they attached before the proliferation of plastics on everything. (I’m hoping one day we’ll all go back to using glass, metal, hemp, etc., and keep plastics for specialty products and medical equipment.) I do so love your button collection, Pam!
The buttons with the clips were used on nurses uniforms, the buttons came off when it was time to clean and iron the uniforms. My Mom had lots of them. i have a few and never thought of using them in a journal! Sweet....a special journal for sure! This was in the time of ringer washing machines....with the roller that pressed out all the water. And broke buttons.
Lol, feel free to throw out that little yellow eraser!😂 this is a great reminder to go thru your stuff to remember what you have! I hope all went well for you during the storm. It was a bad one! Stay safe, Sunny! We dont want you to blow away ❤ thx, Pam!
I love your cleaning videos Pam. I sit and hand sew while listening.and the complete playlist gets a work out. you are the most self effacing and giving artist on here!! no BS. and don't get me started on Sunny and you together! hello from Brisbane Australia.Monday 7th October.11 am. stay well and I wish all the best for you and your fam.
Pam, those clips holding buttons on its card cannot be used in place of sewing, but, you might want to use them in your journals. Thanks for cleaning out your spray stains drawer and how to make your own. I have mica powders and I can't remember why I bought them, so maybe it was from you I got the idea originally. Antway, while cleaning out, I found them now I can make up the sprays. Also, I hope all goes well with the storm. Take care and be safe.
Hey sunshine, glad to see y’all be careful. Don’t get any sprays on your beautiful white hair good job cleaning out all of your doors loved watching every second.❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️😍😍😍
I love your shenanigans! I daren't open some drawers because I would just journey into an alternate reality. So much fun doing this with you!! Thank you for the laughs today.
Those RSVP pens have a removable end. Stamp a narrow piece of paper and insert it in the pen 🖊️ You have a decorated pen. These are great pens that last a long time. Also, please put the bobbin winder in the sewing machine parts drawer. Thank you! ❤
The buttons at the start of your video are called twist buttons and made from twine and solid brass rings. The writing on the back is German. My grandmother use to make similar buttons and she hand sewed them. Truly a great find! I have some of those metal strips, I found them at the dollar tree, they come on a spool like regular ribbon. They cut fairly easy but found garden snips perfect for cutting them. The clips on the back of shank buttons are there just to hold them onto the card, however, they’re great for holding the button on if you’re using it on the cover. Just to remember to glue it down and cover it to hide the clip.
Thanks for the inspiration. I dug all my pens, markers, and pencils out from numerous hiding places. Tested everything and tossed what wasn’t usable. I have been working while sitting in my bed, because of illness. I kept buying new pens and markers because I thought I needed them-HAHAHA- then I looked UNDERNEATH the bed. Oh Lord!! What did I learn? I just need a few colors That I use most, and it helped me see that colors I used less. 🎉Now to see if I can find a way to use those less inspired, or likable colors- neons, I’m looking at you. Will buy only individual colors moving forward. Yes I am addicted to a particular palette. That might be OK.
Yes the first item are Buttons made with fine yarn, it is a special way to make buttons and it is nower days familiar with bigger metalrings like washer. you find them as "Posamentenknöpfe" knöpfe means buttons I don't know the english word, but they are werth to look up very beautiful and not to hard to make. Fun fact: the carpenders pencil is shaped like that so it does not roll of the roof all the time😁 and yes, it is sharpend with a knife.
I remember my carpenter dad sitting at our 50's formica table sharpening his pencil with his pocket knife and them doing all his estimates right on the formica.❤
Hello Pam! Been watching the storm patterns as they hit Florida & other areas. 1st thought were prayers for your safety. I turn the packages of baby wipes over/up-side-down & find they stay more wet as gravity pulls moister down. Please let us know how you & Sunny are doing.🙂
Ok i didnt see this video earlier so i spoke to soon. You made enough to hopefully get you through the storm....its ok to be concerned about them atthepaperoutpost❤ thinking of you's
I’ve used Pentel pens for years. When I was teaching, they were all I used. They do last for a long time. You can’t really use them for mixed media because they will smear.
Hi Pam. I have some of the metal (crown style) that I picked up at a secondhand store. Love it. Just don't know what to do with it. Yet. 😊 Hope you all have a great day. 🌞
Yes INDEED...TRYING to downsize my crafting space, somewhat....making some headway. Overall, I seem to be letting 30 percent of it go at this point. Probably take me a couple more peeling back the "onion layers" til I'm at the point I want to be. TFS! ❤
Pam, I’ve been thinking about you and Sunny. I hope you guys are ok from the storm. I know you didn’t post on Friday, so I’m guessing you either lost power or were evacuated. Sending prayers and hugs your way for safety!
The metal trim likely came from Dollar Tree, last year or the year before (I bought some) and the metal clips on the buttons are just for keeping them on the card, I think, probably to make them more difficult to pull off the card while in the store (anti-theft device)
I remember years ago, they put a little wax or something on the end of new pens . Now I know it was to keep them from drying out. Do they do that anymore? I bought some gel pens recently that had super sealed caps. I can't remember the brand.
I had some pens given to me recently that were from a business that put business names on pens, pencils, cups, can holders, coasters, etc. The pens had that wax on them. I never knew why that was there.
? Is washi tape poisonous to cats? My cat took off with a roll and I have been finding chewed up bit around the house. Looks like you have a few dip pen handles for calligraphy writing @ time stamp 15:40.
Please keep the craft room cleaning videos coming!!!
It's always fun to find craft stuff you didn't remember you have🩷

I have watched lots of cleaning videos, but, Pam, yours are the most enjoyable because of your humor! Thank you so much. 💕👍🏻💫

wow, interesting.
Makes total sense...
I think part of the reason that so many people like these videos is getting to see your craft supplies! 💖

It's always fun to see you cleaning and sorting drawers. 🙋🏼♀️
The blue Zurich is a carpenter’s pencil. My dad sharpened his with his pocket knife. Wonderful memories.
Good morning Pam and Sunny so glad to be here watching you clean . Stay safe and lots of crafting from Tennessee 😊😊😊😊

❤❤hoping you made out ok after hurricane Helene.
The little metal things holding the buttins on are cotter pins.

Hi! I use the bottom of cereal/cracker/snack boxes for drawer organizers! I learned it from my MIL years ago! ❤
Hi Pam. Thinking about you all and praying for your safety! I guess it’s a good day to stay home and clean the craft room❤

Good morning ❤
The metal strips look just like some of my trims on Mid Century decor. I'd use them for embossing or some kind of Coffee dye stenciling.
Hope you are safe from storm..happy cleaning😂

💞 I hope all is well
I hope you guys are safe
please stay safe
The metal “ribbon” is (was?) a thing at Dollar Tree. I bought a couple rolls, they are so lovely! ❤
I think the China marker is a grease type pencil used on black photo albums.
Yes INDEED...TRYING to downsize my crafting space, somewhat....making some headway.

The medal ribbon is from Dollar Tree (that's where I got mine). I think its a seasonal thing.
Hi Pam, haven't been crafting lately, but ran across your video. Your voice sounds deeper to me. Have you had a sore throat?
The metal ribbon came from either Dollar Tree or Hobby Lobby. Both sell some.
WOODEN Coffee stirring sticks for company, parties,
Hope the storm was not too mean.
First item: Thread Buttons (rings).
Take care🌞🐾💚🗺️
Dollar Tree sold the metal strips. They were in tight rolls. There were like 4 different patterns.
❤❤

You should get your bobbin winder and put it with this sewing machine stuff.
The metal ribbon is from Dollar Tree. I bought a bunch of rolls of it.
💕🙏🏼🌷
