Your review made me consider this watch as a buying option some time ago. After three years of everyday use, all I can say is : class, precision, robustness. This watch is really precious. So thank you.
Thanks for the review. Tag gets a lot of negativity, some of it rightly so. They do have some nice models though, and if found used, can be a really nice bargain. Nice to see an objective review.
Thank you, TAG does a lot of stuff that fans of the brand interested in horology don't like as they seem to be desperate to sell everything to everyone, but they still know know how to make a nice watch.
This is an attractive watch and your high quality production values do it justice. In the watch community, I don't know who is more deeply reviled, TAG or Invicta. I've always found that curious as TAG do make very nice timepieces, if somewhat on the expensive side. I guess LVMH feels that they need to market the brand to celebrities in order to make their products more desirable.
I actually thing that TAGs are reasonably priced, but they sometimes spare costs on wrong places, like when they use lowest grade Sellita movements, cutting costs on ambassador would certainly be better choice. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Tag watches of the 90's were somewhat cartoonish, silly plastic bezels etc. I believe that decade had a rather negative effect on the brand, and it takes time to bounce back from that. If you go to an AD and actually handle some of their automatic models of today, they are extremely well designed and built. I don't have any issue with brands using eta or Sellita movements rather than in house, the benefits of doing so actually compliment the owner in terms of reliability and reasonable service costs (not always the case imo with in house movements under £5K). The Monaco 12 and the Carrera Calibre 5 Day Date are truly exceptional in hand, even when compared to many other premium watch brands (I've compared them closely and I've been really impressed). Make no mistake, Tag Heuer is a luxury brand with a sports centred and rich history, a truly innovative brand at the forefront of pioneering technology and concepts). Acknowledgement of a in house Tourbillon watch for under £20K, a bargain for those who are inclined to obtain one. The two models I mentioned earlier have applied indices and unique case designs, often seen in some of the wealthiest establishments in the world, along side Omega, Rolex, Tudor, Breitling, Zenith, Bremont....... Longines Master Collection & Record. Patek, Audemar P and Vacheron don't belong in this conversation obviously 🙂. A lot of watch buying comes down to personal preference, a lot of people bought Omega Seamasters as soon as it appeared on James Bonds wrist, whilst it's a great watch, there's many other factors at play when parting with cash for a watch.
Good video! And what a gorgeous watch. I've wanted one of these for a while and will buy one very soon. I'm a bit torn between the black dial and the light anthracite (a.k.a. "white" or "silver") dial which is much closer to the dial in your vid. I'm leaning toward the lighter dial, as the black, though also gorgeous, is a bit sportier (IMHO) and the lighter dial seems a bit more versatile & just seems to pop a bit more. Maybe I'll eventually have to have both. I also really love the bracelet. I'm also torn at the moment over whether to buy directly from TH or go grey market - nervous about the latter, although I'm generally pretty cheap...
I personally always buy from grey market, where they provide signed warranty card from AD, that is the best option IMO. I definitely advise to never pay full price for TH.
I'm about to buy one. The bracelet is the only thing that gave me a little bit of pause. I love the look & overall quality of the bracelet, but would be slightly happier if Tag Heuer had gone to 20mm instead of 18. 2mm makes a significant visual and tactile difference. I only have a few watches, but they're all 20mm and I particularly like the heft of this width on a steel bracelet. Still, having said all of that, the watch itself, bracelet included, is just too nice to pass up. It is maybe the simplest, most straightforward design in TH's current line, and that's what I like about it. Nothing looks better than a simple but perfectly executed piece. Hope you're enjoying your watch!
I just think it's a bit silly of paying thousands for a watch and being afraid to bloody go for a dip with it if it is claimed to be water resistant to a certain level. You'd never have these fears with an Omega or a Rolex.
Nicely finished movement? Wtf is that botched engraving on the rotor? Looks like it was done by a drunk or a kid. Seiko Sarx033 or Srpb69j1 are both better choices at 1/3 or 1/6 of the Msrp of this.

Thanks for the review. Just picked up the new version, at my AD, today. Absolutely love it!
I got the newer version of this, with the 100M water resistance. Thanks Spartan!

It's ridiculous to compare Invicta with Tag!

How much is this? thx
Hey i just got the black dial of this watch, a real looker!, i find the bracelet a little bit thin and light, i was wondering if you found that too ?
I actually like the bracelet on this one, it is a bit light but feels solid overall and finishing is nice as well.
Thank you for watching!
