    The AWD system in the E350 4Matic does not use a clutch pack to distribute power, it is a permanent AWD system and distributes power 45:55 front-to-rear by means of an open center differential. The two axles are linked by a pre-loaded 2 plate clutch with a locking action of 50Nm. The AMG models use 4Matic + with a multi-disc clutch but not the non-AMG models. The E450 4Matic features a more rear-biased version of the 4Matic permanent AWD system with a torque split of 31:69 front-to-rear.

    It’s been quite weird to me that the 250HP level E-class is called E350 in the USA but when it comes to the rest of the world it’s E300. E350 here has 299HP and 400Nm of torque (well, pushed by the same engine with EQ boost).

      I bet it beats the prior base V6 to sixty, has better fuel economy and has better emissions, though. I do that with sports cars sometimes. A modern Accord Sport would dust a 90s era 911.

      @@eriknephrongfr8847 True, engine technology has came a long way. But for $64K they should have provided a Inline-6 3.0L turbo. Power and acceleration is not everything. No turbo 4-cyl can match the snoothness and reliability of a 6-cyl.

    • @wardancer400
      @wardancer400 3 года назад +3

      @@bohan9957 not really the car manufacturers faults, the EU regulations are just pushing for everything to get electrified asap. Average CO² emmisions for manufacturers from 2021 should be 98gr. To add insult to injury they'll also use the WLTP calculations which calculates around 10 - 20% higher CO² numbers than the previous NEDC. Big engines are a dying breed and not because it's not because manufacturers decided to put all their R&D resources into building complicated AF 3 and 4 cylinders but because otherwise they'll get a hefty fine

    • @pacmanc8103
      @pacmanc8103 3 года назад +3

      @@bohan9957 a person can buy a base version of the E450 for $64,000. But a nicely equipped one will be around $77,000. I would never buy a 4-cylinder E-class Mercedes sedan. I’ve driven the E350 when my car has been in for warranty items - just not the same. Punchy in a weird electronic way - and much more noise than oomph. The E450 has a proper 6 cylinders that provide the agile chassis with strong and smooth acceleration and handling. I actually would have preferred the E450 Executive version with the S-class grill and star, but in the US, only this version is sold. Equipped with nice wheels (what’s with all black wheels these days - reminds me of stripped police cruisers!), it looks nicer than the one shown here. This is the base wheel.

    My cousin has the pre-refreshed version of this car and it projects CarPlay on the full screen. Strange that the refreshed one ditched that feature.
    I also think it’s funny that Lexus debuted a touchpad for their infotainment with lots of hate from journalists... but now that MB and Acura and other companies are doing something similar, no one seems to mind anymore.
    Anyways, these cars are ‘OK’ but definitely not my type. I think if you want a sedan from MB, the C Classe is the one to get. The C Classe is no longer the cheap-o Mercedes Benz. It has similar quality to the E but less gimmicks, a tidier design, and a lower entry price.

    Kind of a lame review. You complain about no ventilated seats, but you can get them. Why should everything be standard? Why pay for things you don’t want? Then you say the fake leather feels cheap. You can get real leather as well. I have this car. I also have owned BMW, Audi, Acura, and have a new Ram 1500 with real leather. The MBTex in the e350 is really nice. It feels really soft and is on the armrests, door panels etc. it feels better than a lot of leather being used. I even cross shopped Genesis. You are saying it feels cheap because you know it’s not real and your brain can’t comprehend it. It’s a Mercedes’. It’s earned it’s place at being more expensive. Own one for a while and you will see how superior it is to those that include all options as standard
