I am SO glad these challenge episodes are getting uploaded regularly again, they're not only fun but informational and I missed them a lot.
Sometimes I feel bad for the guy, but I'm glad their dedicated. A true scientist, even if it is for entertainment! Mad respect man!
Yh. Cracked (the website and the RUclips page) does these types of challenges also. I'm wildly entertained by them
unfortunately not regularly anymore ☹️
@@mich8468 ik its sad

Medieval doctors are like
Are you ill?: Leeches
Is your Arm sore?: Amputate
Medieval barber, at your (funeral) service.
Doc: Seriously ill? What did you do to anger God?
Amateur historians 🤮
You usually diluted the beer as well, to something called small ale/beer for every day drinking, and save the stronger stuff for special occasions. It usually ranged between 0.5% to around 3%.
Unless we’re talking Irish, of course.
So....Bud Lite
I love alcohol.
Ale/beer, never heard of it but weren't both pretty strong in alcahol content in them days?
@@Bobbb-f3i alcohol makes life better.
Would be extremely interesting to have a video ranking all the challenges he’s done from the easiest to the most painful/terrifying/difficult. There’s about 60 of them I think?
Alcohol content of Beer and Wine in the "olden days" was alot lower than it is now - especially in the biblical era. Main reason people drank alot of wine/beer was there were no water treatment plants and water hundreds of years ago- so water was full of nasty microbes - there were also no sewage treatment plants either.. so water contamination of towns and cities was a huge problem.
You have no idea how happy I am the challenges are back, this is my favourite series. Thank you so much
Another point for drinking in the middle ages is there alcohol was probably less filtered so if you drank a beer it probably still had actual bits of barley and hops floating around in it, and it was probably more like guinness than like budweiser. The same is probably true for most wine. Also, though I'm sure there was plenty of fire water available, beers and wines had a bit less alcohol than what is typical today (some just had less, other were diluted somewhat) and many had more various herbs infused into them.
No.
You aren't wrong in that distilled liquors are actually more modern than most people would think. It takes a fair amount of fine machining to make a still capable of producing strong liquors. Take this with a grain of salt as I can't recall the source but I remember reading somewhere that general rates of alcoholism got much worse after liquor became more widely available
@@markrhodes403 Say I time travel back, to 1401 with an AK-47 and wearing a chicken costume. I teleport into King Henry IV's bedroom and hold him hostage in a strange red triangle cage. I bring a guy named Fred with me, whom I shoot, in order to demonstrate what my gun does. I am immune to arrows, and disease. I have no need for food or water, but I can be killed by any melee attack. What would the sixteen guards do when they burst into his room? Would I be seen as their new god?
@@JustAnotherNerd95 wtf
@@Samaskarieh0 Answer the question
At least in the UK, it's my understanding that the ale and mead that were drunk, as opposed to water, were significantly weaker. So less of a buzz
When the world needed him most...he returned.
Hahaha I think your girlfriend definitely had a tougher time than you on this challenge. Hahaha can’t wait to show the wife this one. I love water. Must have been so brutal not drinking water hahaha
Yeah not drinking water for a month is just nuts to me.
I am wondering, does he have a girlfriend and a wife?
@@makisekurisu4674 Idk, Just know that he mentioned her like a thousand times
@@makisekurisu4674 I think he's just playing characters, dude.
Diets in the middle ages were surprisingly heart-healthy. It’s no wonder your cardio improved.
No they weren’t, do you see how much. bread they ate?

Maybe do a medieval peasant video too. Their diet was different because they usually didn’t have access to as much meat. Some villages did. Also you were right about the alcohol being like Gatorade. It was made different than ours. Small beer was more common and only like 2%. There were beers that could get you hammered but they drank that later in the day
Lol this video makes me realize I very likely might eat a highly midevil diet... It's mostly beer... And meat... Followed by more beer, although I gotta incorporate some water fowl and wine into there... I can't do intestines though smh
“no surprise there” when talking about where you found the cuts of meat is CRAZY smh
They're called Chitlins. And "we" still eat them. Get yourself some hot sauce and go to town!
I really wanna see how this man looks in real life along with his gf
Too bad they will never show it because they want to stay as anonymous as possible
You can see what he looks like in the live action bigfoot hunt video
My bestfriend growing up was Laotian. I ate cow brain at his place once when I was a kid. I liked it to be honest. Lao-style cowbrain with sticky rice is slammin. Then again, all Lao food is slammin... lol
Here's a new challenge idea: What if you had to eat nothing but canned goods for a month? I think it would be very educational to see what it would do to the body, both mentally and physically.
No spectacles and that much alcohol easily explains a lot of myths and legends 🗿
Speaking of playing sports wasted, my father was in a rugby union club in Australia, and all the teams had to abide by the rule, if you substitute out you need to skull a beer before you can go back in, commit a penalty I think you had to have a shot of scotch whisky. Essentially the game starts normal enough but turns entertaining by the second half, and no one cares who wins cause everyone just drinks together afterwards. I never once seen a single fight or disagreement, maybe alcohol makes sports more entertaining and friendly 🤷♂
Luck of the draw.
8:10 domestic violence is hilarious
If anyone ever decide to eat animal brains or animal intestine, you've gotta try pig brain and pig intestine using the SiChuan Method, it is real good (a little spicy though)!
and you can also try the testicles using the YunNan method, though I have not tried it yet, but I heard it's not bad
I just love the narrator's sarcastic humor lol
The "WHENCH, REFILL MY CHALICE" Part got me, ngl.
You should do him eating like an Ancient Roman next.
One of my favorite vids of this channel, the challenges. Hahaha
Also thanks for bringing back challenges
Aha so that’s where the idea (…) cure a hangover by drinking more🤔🤷♂️
When eating innards (intestines & such) you kinda need to marinate it for at least 12h before to make sure they’re not as rubbery, & brain is pretty much tasteless so I would recommend using a Mediterranean recipe (they honestly know what they’re doing with food🤤)👍
(To the host (if they see this)) You could have used alcohol free beer’s & wine’s so you wouldn’t have been hammered all the time, but still get the experience🤗👍
So happy that the challenge guy is back! He should do a summer season of challenges!
Next challenge should be listening to Everywhere At The End Of Time in one sitting.
Challenge idea: I was vegan for one month, I trained Muay Thai for 30 days
Hey John glad you’re back doing challenges again it’s really good to see you. And yes challenge Guy I do know your first name. :-). But no worries I’ll keep your identity a secret.
Did they stop the challenges or is he not interested in challenging anymore
The beer they would drink would be an ale with no hops. Very low alcohol content. Also, the wine would be a raw wine.
Chitlins are absolutely disgusting I don't see how my girlfriend eats the she can't kiss me after eating them 😂😂
Our ancestors actually weren’t as hammered as you’d think- they drank a lot of wine and beer, but the alcohol content of the daily drinks was much lower than modern beers and wines! They really only drank beers and wines that are modern-proof level were those drunk on special occasions, or if you were very wealthy. And most people DID drink water, if the quality was good enough. So more so in the countryside than in cities, I would bet. And they did water down their beer and wine often. So they were likely often lightly buzzed, but not to the extent that doing this diet with modern beer would make someone!
I would thrive on this diet.
Its been 10 months since the last challenge episode, are these done for good?😢
Do a surviving on mars for a year challenge
I enjoyed that middle earth joke lol
One of my favorite things about these videos is that whenever someone yells or screams you can see their uvulas flailing around like a speed bag 😂🤣😂
One thing you aren't taking in consideration is that the beers were MUCH weaker than they are today. Lol
Glad to see their still doing short form challenge videos still too. I like the long ones, but I don't need as many of them, lol.
Well to be fair, Geralt is a Witcher. Basically he is a superhuman mutant.
WEVE BEEN WAITING!!!!! Thank you
Drinking more in the morning actually does help a hangover. It's a fact if you want to look it up, I'm too lazy to explain the science in it
YES! more medieval stuff! and challenges! Excellent combo!
The "Regimen Sanitatis Salernitanum" in Latin means it's "Government of Health" or Health Government in English
Of course you need extra paddling when your idea of a battle uniform is 50 pounds of steel.
👏👏👏YOUR BACK DOING CHALLENGES 👏👏👏
I love that challenges are back often! I enjoy these very much😊😊😊
HE LIVES!!!!
I MISS THESE CHALLENGING SO BAD😔😔😭😭
Another challenge great video
10:02 eating protein is eating protein, eating testicles is eating testicles 😏
Love your videos
I just finished binge watching the whole playlists with challenges thinking when the new one is coming out 🙂
This is like an episode of spill your guts or fill your guts 😂🤣😂🤣😂
The challenges is the main reason I subscribed 😊
Water was dodgy, it usually came with an unhealthy dose of cholera, as a whole it was safer to drink alcohol instead as it tended to inhibit the breeding of the bacteria, although they didn’t know that at the time
"They were strong but also THICC."
There ya go.
YES MORE CHALENGES
"If you have hangover drink more in the morning"
I thought that was my Invention... 😩
It works tho...
the beer and wine at that time had way less alcohol, yo should have deluded it by 3 or something.
Taking naps is connected to higher IQ.
Good Lord, it’s a wonder the woman didn’t leave you, running screaming out the door!
I love you infographics show ..
your telling me that you didnt get roasted chicken, half a baked potato and unlimited drink refills as you watch a contest of skill everyday?
So Viking diet for a month next or Polynesian sailor
Goat milk is best with Coffee rather than drinking straight 😅
Real butter not margarine actually is pretty good for you. Not in the cake it on like a royal in a fantasy novel level. But a reasonable gobet (about 1 and 1/2 tsp) on your English muffin or toast is totally fine
Diet meant for kings
Comment if you watch all of their videos like if you enjoy them
is challenge guy done bring him back its the only reason I watch the channel🥺
eat like an ancient egyptian for 30 days
Drinking the next morning does cure hangovers but the hard part can be making yourself start drinking when you have a hangover but if you are a non believer try it once and i bet you'll live by it lol
Liver king: ha pathetic
"In America, this is still likely true..."
Ooff.
"You gonna be eating a lot of ⚾️⚾️ ."
Me: looks at my gf 😏
Gf: F off
You forget that the people back in the day were mostly farmers or crafters and worked 60-80 hours in the week doing heavy work. They were pretty fit because they were peasants. Having a body that can't move was probably the fastest way to die because you can't keep up producing products for your lord.
are there going to be more challenges soon? 🥺
With enough beer 🍺 and wine 🍷 any lifestyle seems doable.
Video idea: You Vs Hank J Wimbleton (Madness combat)
Do videos about dark age
Can you make a video of what would happen if all the animals in the zoos were released?
Man I like this channels
When making pig intestine you should've put the pig blood in the intestine tie it properly boil it and fry it with hot sauce and oil also put 1 day old bread in the blood so it can be thick so it would not running off anywhere
Our favorite lab rat lol. Great video.
You do know the alcohol content in the middle ages in beer and wine was a fraction of today. People were not hammers like you said
Yes!!! I love fully animated challenges. I hope the writer and the girlfriend play Mass Effect Legendary Edition. The writer as a female Colonist Sole Survivor doing all Renegade options without Anti Alien Prejudice options. The Girlfriend as a Male Spacer War Hero doing all Paragon options.
Water was a a lot more dangerous back then because it was infected a Lot whereas beer used boiled water and natural preservatives. Beer also was a lot weaker than your average IPA now
Beer from medieval time wine and beer was really weak.
5:19 The food pyramid is completely wrong.
We need a irl video like so he can see
Water was typically contaminated back then so would have been an issue.
Pretty sure I saw this in an inforgraphics video once.
Where is the challenge guy
Welcome back.
He’s… The lab rat’s back.
Was waiting to hear "the girlfriend" from the narrator. You finally stopped saying that and annoying everybody it's a miracle!
He goes out to try these things shout out to Infographics show guy what a legend 🔥🔥🔥🔥
4:17-4:24 these are rules i go by
