I'd love to see your whole process of determining how much to size up and how much to then add in the shoulder adjustment on top of that. And how many toiles that takes. I have broad shoulders and a small bust. I've tried just doing a shoulder adjustment, just sizing up, and a combination off the two, but it's such a process that I always run out of steam and give up before I'm completely satisfied. Or the worst is when I got the fit right with one pattern in DBP but then made it in cotton Spandex and it didn't fit at all and I had to start all over again! Run away sobbing! 😂
Yes, that's hard! If you have a pattern that you get just perfect, you can use it to compare with a new pattern you want to make and adjust the shoulders to your perfect one. The fabric stretch definitely adds an extra element of confusion. If the pattern is designed for a certain stretch percentage, but you want something that has less stretch, you can also size up.
How do you know which one you are? I have so many oddities about my body i have to adjust SO much that its hard to pinpoint what is being difficult. I know my shoulder width but have no clue where to compare it too. It tells me squat, no clue if its narrow or broad. I also know im square barely a slope so no clue if that factors in too or gives false broad shoulder vibes. Just wish i had exact answer yes or no im broad shoulders adjust pattern here etc etc 😫
This was helpful as to the process. What is missing is how to determine the amount to add.

Thank you, you make it look so easy! ❤
Thank you for this. Do you need to alter your neckband once you’ve altered the shoulder?
