@Northward Bound very close to my home in Coos County, I little over an hour drive. Worth the trip. I agree 100% i am hoping this is all over soon, I haven't been all year.... :(
Neighbouring New Brunswick is nearly as French speaking - perhaps even more vigilant about their heritage. A surprising number of pockets of French speaking communities also show up in parts of Ontario, Cape Breton (Nova Scotia) and even Manitoba...
Tom Samworth : It’s not easy a fight. Today there are more speakers of Chinese than French in Canada. I support English-French bilingualism in Canada despite much backlash from anglophones. I also think that Ontario should have funded that French speaking university that fell through the cracks.
@@timsummers870over 20% of the canadian population have french as a first language, the largest part being Québécois. Mandarin/cantonese speakers are nowhere near that in Canada. Also, bilingualism means death of the french language, hence why I don't support it at all and we need stricter rules to promote and protect french in Canada.
@@qcpresto I agree. Be careful or Chinese will cancel out the French language. I read my comment again and I should say that there are more Chinese speakers than French in Ontario and British Columbia, not in Canada. Anyway, good luck to you.
Wow. My father was raised in Sherbrooke and any of those old homes may have been his. I live not that far away - Longueuil area - but now I’ve reached the age I wish he was around to answer questions I have now at 56. I wish I had more detail on where he lived…..what street… He and my mother met in Sherbrooke. She was from Weedon and working at the Queen Hotel. Wishing to retire there. It feel special when I go. I feel at home somehow.
It's a beautiful city (and area in general). My mom was from Richmond and my dad was from Granby so Sherbrooke's right on the middle. They moved to Ontario in 1965 (3 yrs. before I was born). I think I might have one cousin left in Quebec - all the rest have either moved away or passed on. Wish I still had some family there..
Le coeur de Sherbrooke bat dans ma poitrine; je suis né ici et je vais y mourir. Mais j'avous que je rêverais de partir quelques années en Italie car il y a tellement de beaux endroits à voir.
Thanks! My family came from nearby Richmond and Granby, so I've been visiting the area all my life. This was the first time I'd actually been downtown Sherbrooke - what a beautiful city!
So many drunk nights walking up king ouest, such a beautiful city, and a nice easy ride from NH.

Amazing place! My dream is live in that beautiful city.❤️
I was there when this was filmed. I would be there again in my future, when it gets here. lol.
Canada fascinates me, especially because they have a French-speaking province. That’s a nice heritage to look after.
