    FS56 trimmer...just bought one & my handicapped husband can start it with 2 (TWO) fingers. It's another great Stihl product.

    Finally, someone who knows how to use it properly. Too many people just yank the ever loving crap out of these Stihls and break them, and then say that it's junk. Completely different machine.

      Charles Power I had a buddy who bought a Stihl chainsaw with the Easy2Start feature and busted the recoil starter doing just that. I don't understand why some people find it so difficult to adapt to how you pull the recoil on an Easy2Start - it's fairly straight forward how it works after a pull or two.

      charles power...You are right. The salesman filled the tank & demonstrated it for my husband, even gave him goggles, 6 bottles of oil & a brand new gas can for his Stihl trimmer !!!

    Clean the Spark Arrester / Muffler once a year as , they get clogged ( 5min job ) . Other than that these STIHL fs45 s run great .

    Inherited one of these. No idea as to the last time it was used. About 75 pulls later, she started :) (It took me about 20 pulls just to get it to pull out all the way, almost gave up, glad I didn't)

    Just so you know, there's a trigger lock on the throttle that holds the throttle at about 25% for cold starting.

    I just got one from a garage sale for 5 bucks, the pull cord was broke. Which is a pain in the ass to fix. Anyway I fixed it and was like why the he'll does it pull this way. Thought I did something wrong putting it together. Now I know that's just the way it is..thanks

    Gas tank? What do they have ones that don't use petroleum but gas? Is it natural gas or LPG?

    • @rere998877
      @rere998877 3 года назад

      I know I'm late, but by "gas" he means gasoline. No one calls it petroleum in the US, generally. But it is indeed good old fashioned unleaded petrol. :)

    Hi, i 'm buying either FS45 or FS55R (staight shaft). Which one do you recommend?

    • @ErikAsquith
      @ErikAsquith  5 лет назад +1

      Vasileios I personally like straight shafts and would go with the FS55.

    For someone who doesn’t know about chokes and switches i came to RUclips to find out how to start this trimmer. I personally need to know what position the switches need to be in to start it. Someone please do a video on this. Thank you!!!! Sorry but this video was zero help to me. I can find out the same info you gave in this video by standing back and looking at it.

    • @nahnahphoon

      Prime, flick on your choke switch, try to start it, if no start or slight start and shut off, turn your choke back off and pull again, might need a slight bit of gas while starting with choke off. If it starts with choke on, let it idle until it sounds like its dying down, then turn the choke off.
