At least have two jokes that make someone feel like they want to catch their breath from laughing… again two seconds of laughter jokes start to finish!

You're right. We live in these societies in which the priority is the enrichment of the rich people and companies.
We are the apex predator, conquerors of the plains, mountains, oceans - but we work forever to make other people rich. While we have enough food and clothing and ingenuity so that we could all be comfortable and have enough and even abundance.
I've been coming back to this special for like a month now. The first time I watched it I thought I was supper funny, a little roughcut, but now a month later and at least 3 or 4 rewatches, the writing, as a complete set, is excellent with great comedic symmetry. So many funny situations in this set.
The bit about getting old, and his grandmother saying to him: "Oh... Dave... you are so handsome, you're like a regular Jameson Hobart". Properly hilarious, as was the other 95% of this set. I hope someone high-up at Comedy Central or Netflix takes a hard look at this guy ad things take off for him, because he's hilarious, not forced, and tells funny-ass stories and scenarios. I would guess that David Drake is just naturally hilarious, in simple, day to day life. A natural comedian who also has the comedic creative writing skills that could take him far. I hope it happens for him.
Then again, It only took me 4-5 weeks (and 3 full views) before I realized what a comedic gem this set is, in my opinion anyway, whatever that's worth.

This is quite the achievement; excellent rhythm, transition and even atmosphere. I consume more standup than I’m willing to admit to anyone and this is a real gem. I appreciate that you didn’t bore me to death with politics and excessive dick jokes. You feeling old at your age could have bored me to death but you steered that crazy train in a way that made me believe you actually had/are in an actual midlife crisis. Give this snowball a good push down the mountain and destroy a city. Cheers
I also consume more standup than I'm willing to admit... (even thought I just admitted it) and I definitely agree that this is a real gem. I'm looking forward to playing it for my friends and family that love standup. The funniest specials I have watched in the last couple years were "Sorry" and "Live in Austin," and this was definitely up there around that level, in my opinion. Funny, funny shit.

@@mattfrost918 Yeah, the easy pace especially got me onboard. With humor/entertainment I really don’t care if a tale is stretched out, half-true or not. I just long for potentially relatable, situational jesting and seasoned storytelling . Some will simply never possess the charisma to enchant and they can all fuck off and do something else more properly suited to their stale cardboard “personalities”. I dodge bad standup like angel dusters and orange parking cones. I still wanna run them over though

The best kind of an unexpected set, veering into the lava, the mystery of humor that you can't and shouldn't try to explain, but just thank God that we humans have been graced with this gift that makes life a little more bearable. You were fearless, David Drake, a channel from the Source. I found myself grimacing and laughing at the same time. Spooked and awed and grossed out.
That's why I believe comedy can truly save us all.

And within a few minutes I made darn sure to save it on a playlist of my favorite comedy specials so I can go back and watch it again when needed. I've had a few too many incidents where something happens halfway through watching something that I'm really enjoying and I haven't made note of the name and all of a sudden it's gone. So if I can tell right away that it's something great first I take a screenshot and get the name in the screenshot and then I save it on my favorites list. Just never know when the stuff you save actually gets saved so I have to double save with that screenshot man lol. I'm tech challenged so even the simplest things I can mess up for real.
