Wonderful reading of a rather timeless story. This recording shows Mr. Twain's perception and humor rather well. It reminds me I should read more of him.

i just listened to it again...ahhh it's soo addicting. it's like i feel satans presence when he speaks and when he's around the boys in the book. i feel like one of them. i love this book and i love the message mark twain is trying to convey to society.

I really liked the end of chapter 4. Just after the boys speak to the priest about the moral sense they run into Margret giving her lesson then see a boy waiting for her to be done so they can bang, they chose to lie to Vilhelm about their knowledge of the remaining length of her lesson simply to please him seeing as it cost them nothing. great example of the moral sense separating them and Satan! Honestly I thought this book was idiotic and ridiculous.
    An oversimplification of human immorality.
A complete glancing over of the inherent morality in all people though all forsake the law written within their own heart.
A complete fallacy concerning the reality of the Seraphim.
A complete ignoring of God and his will for creation.
A complete fallacy thinking that Catholicism is part or relevant to Biblical Christianity.
A complete fallacy thinking that Biblical morality would cause such things as the Dark Ages and falsely killing anyone or even killing anyone, anyone who has studied the Word of God knows that killing in the Church age (after Christ death to the tribulation) for the sake of sins rather than crimes within a moral country is contrary to the Word.
Mark Twain for being as literate as he is was unstudied and foolish concerning the Word.
This Book glorifies a fallen angel who clearly is Satan not his nephew and demonizes God who made both Angels and Man.

Darth Shaydo Glorifies? What?? Geez I pity you for having such little imagination that you believe that the main character's naïve perceptions are to be taken seriously just because the story is told by him!
Of course the angel is Satan and its obvious that he took advantage of the main character in an insidious way. That's obvious to anyone except children (again, the main character).
What's insane is that you mistake a dark, comedic tragedy with a story that literally glorifies Satan when he was a boastful jerk the whole time...
