What you need for amazing music. Imagine in your head or sketch scenes Turn it into a theme. Add character. Add emotions. Listen to notes and pick the ones that fit into your theme. What perfected that is 07th expansion... each soundtrack defines its very own character. Few anime, western cartoons and games that are just about experiencing the game. Vocaloid artists also do a very good job on that. You can use your pc keyboard as most instuments btw. Fruity loops has some already installed. There are also some you can download for free or buy.
