    I can so relate to this! There are so many hard/stressful decisions that come with infertility! We have decided to put any treatments aside and pursue foster care/foster to adopt. I am not sure what it is like in Canada but in TX it typically takes 3 months to get licensed (we start in Sep!! :)) and we are taking newborns-4 yrs and there is potential for foster to adopt and that is free! Obviously foster care is a big, emotional rollercoaster to go through and it definitely does not guarantee adoption, but there are babies and kiddos out there who desperately need foster parents to love them and give them a safe and happy environment to be in whether it is temporary or forever. And it is free to be a foster parent and to adopt through the foster system, at least here in TX.

    This is such an encouraging thing to watch unfold - it's just awesome that people were so generous and loving. It makes me hopeful for your journey as well seeing how many people are praying for you and loving on you during a hard time. And you guys are going to make amazing parents! The fact that your subscribers are so kind is a testament to how awesome you are! I'll be praying for you to have wisdom moving forward with your decision on embryo transfer vs adoption. However you bring a child into your home, your children are going to be loved and cherished by so many. I'm sad that your cycle didn't work out but I'm also excited for your future. I just know that good things are going to come to you and all of this pain and your ability to keep moving forward is proof of your love and perseverance for your children.

    What a blessing to have so many options! Not long ago adoptions were the only way to have a baby when you were having infertility issues. Today IUI, IVF, and surrogacy, in two forms, are possible for those of us that are struggling with infertility. I can tell you the love you have stored in your heart for the child God gives you, will not be diminished one ounce by the way you have him or her. Children just melt your heart to the core. God bless your desire to become parents sooner than later:)

    I totally understand the gamble and frustrating and overwhelming feeling of what to do first or even what to do period. Decisions are hard. I was adopted from Korea at four months old as my mother went through her own infertility journey and made the choice that pursuing adoption versus treatment was the rift choice for building a family. I am four years into my infertility journey and my Husband and I don't feel called to adopt and its either gonna be a biology baby through treatment or nothing at all. We have decided at this point to do our first IUI next Spring. We have had to make choices financially as well as financially treatment and life in genera is expensive and its tough sometimes to decided which is biggest priority, especially when the yearning for parenthood is so strong. Um, my parents said international adoption was a awesome choice as they were able to get a guarantee of an infant to adopt versus here in America. There are a lot of different options for sure.

    Make sure to look into the attain program if you consider doing a fresh round of ivf down the road. It's a flat rate and you get a certain amount of fresh and frozen and if you don't get pregnant they refund you a % of your money. I did it a few years back.

    Do you guys have foster care up there? My husband and I are currently being certified in the foster care system to hopefully adopt a baby or toddler while we continue our fertility journey. It's basically free to adopt from the foster system so that's the route we are taking... private adoption here is around $30,000 and we just can't do that. Best of luck in your information gathering and decision making process.

    I SO know what you are talking about with the annoying, nagging waiting time. That's the most strenuous part of it. And trust me, almost no couple gets through such a treatment "as planned". Because things not going as planned is what have brought us there. Hang in there.
    From the first appointment to me actually getting pregnant with my son took one year and two weeks (I had a nurse look into my file at the last appointment because I wanted to know.) This year was full of obstacles and bumps in the road, and waiting time after waiting time. It's frustrating beyond expression. So. Hang in there. Positive thoughts all the way to you!

  • @zoedanielle565

    What an emotional journey and that's a really tough decision to make. Especially if your endo gets worse, then waiting to transfer the frozens while you adopt might not be the best call, but I guess that depends how long the adoption process is on average, and whether the other agency will let you transfer at the same time. At least if you adopt first like you said you know that you will end up with a child at the end, and after all this heartbreak that would be a relief I'm sure. Good luck with whatever you choose!

    I would talk to your doctor first to have better understanding if waiting with frozen transfer good idea based on your endometriosis. Meaning if it gets worth over time and Timor chances to get pregnant better now or couple years down the road. It would of helped me to know which route to go first. Pray about it and seal Gods direction too. His way is the best way!

    have you guys thought of snowflake babies. Also have you thought of going through the state to adopt? they pay for things ??? also to get more info you may want to join adoption support groups.

  • @JourneyInParenthood
    @JourneyInParenthood 8 лет назад

    What I would do is do an independent homestudy (just through the state and not a private agency) and then you can be ready if a situation comes of for independent adoption. With independent Adoption you only have to pay for the lawyers and paperwork basically. You don't have an agency matching you, but if a situation occurs where someone says "I want you to adopt my baby" you are then ready to start the process. It's probably 1/3 of the cost as well! I believe Alex and Phil did an Independent adoption (not 100% sure).
    Praying for wisdom as you move forward on all your decisions. I have totally been there as well with what road to take. In the end we chose foster care adoption (which is free but very much an emotional risk as the babies may end up going back home since the goal first is to give parents a chance to rehabilitate and if they don't then you are able to adopt). And now we are doing IVF after adopting our 2 baby boys 😊
    In the end it will all work out and you will look back and be in awe and full of thankfulness!

    How does adoption work in Canada? Are you considering an open or a closed adoption?

  • @amyoptimist6220
    @amyoptimist6220 8 лет назад +3

    Is embryo adoption a possibility in Canada? In the US, adopting embryos is cheaper than normal adoption because you pay for the adoption of the embryos and then for the FET. Just something to think about; I believe the FET will work for you with your 5 day embryos.

    I have never gone through this dilemma but I would say that if I was going through what you been through, then I think that would be looking towards the adoption route now because no matter how long the wait is at least you would be more likely to have a baby/child at the end of the time rather than potentialy going through more heartbreak from failed transfers. your always in my thoughts and really can't think of any other two people who deserve to be parents more than you two do.

    Have you thought about adopting a baby abroad, I mean if the waiting list is long where you are it means that babies get families quickly whereas in some countries kids are born in orphanages and stay until they're teenagers, in terrible conditions most of the time. One of my mums good friends has 2 adopted children from Somalia, she couldn't have children and her husband left her so she adopted there as in France the conditions are strict and being married is one of them. She first adopted a baby boy and the same mother had another child this year and asked if she would have her little girl as well so she went and got her too. They are both extremely happy now as is the lady. The process is easier and quicker as well. Anyway just an idea, if you want I could get her email or something so you could chat with her, she is French but is an English teacher so speaks English.

      Surrogacy is only necessary if the woman can not carry a child. She can carry a child as far as they know. It's just their embryos aren't surviving so far but hopefully will this next round. Also, saw someone say they aren't considering adoption but they actually are. That's what they talk about in this video.

    I love your videos and think you all will be great parents. I know how hard the wait and not knowing can be with infertility. Maybe you should increase your go fund me goal to give youself more options. Maybe you could raise enough money to see the best IF doctor out there or go ahead and get on the adoption wait list while trying to have your own sense you want to adopt even if you have your own. surly there is an agency out there who wont bump you off just because you fall pregnant. That rule just doesn't seem fair. Especially with there being a higher risk of miscarriage or other complications in women with Infertility problems. You all seem like the perfect choice for a expectant mom looking to place her baby. and I'm sure you want more then one. During my IF journey I had 3 MCs, and I know how hard this waiting and wondering is. So maybe having more then one thing in the works will help ease the discomfort of this journey. I hope you can raise enough money to be able to both have your own and adopt. best of luck

    You are welcome. But I would suggest u research online for yourselves first. That's what my husband and I did. And as a matter of fact, he found it on his own and brought it to my attention. Please, please do this. These doctors are here to make money and the more we have to go back for ivf or frozen embryo transfers is more money in their pocket. A lot of doctors do not practice testing people for the Natural Killer cells or Cytokines because it is something they do not believe in. But so many woman have endured the heart break and disappointment because of their RE's don't believe in something that could possibly be keeping our embryos from attaching to our uterus.
