- Max Richter, David Eagleman and Vanessa Hill on SLEEP
Described by the composer as a “lullaby for a frenetic world”, Richter’s SLEEP seeks to examine the relationship between music and the subconscious mind. A work which aims to unite people - bringing together listeners in a collective moment of musical reflection.

As a person with severe disabilities, I can’t sleep or rest easily so I appreciate this very much- music has consistently been the most useful too to manage my pain and sleep issue. Love your work so very much, thank you
You’re welcome

One of the best modern composers out there!
The Sleep album is the most wonderful music I have ever heard in my life. An absolutely transcendental experience. Max Richter is my favorite composer. Thanks Maestro. Bravo.
During what had been a long day at campus, I parked my body on a bench, plugged earphones to my ears and played Return 2. I had just eaten, somewhat tired, the weather was slightly below chilly. However, where I sat allowed for some sunlight to warm me in the gentlest of ways. Before I knew it I was in between "sleep and awake", the journey into such a state felt like my Being was being stretched, in a nice way... I was a reptile busking under tranquilizing warmth during winter times. I was asleep yet could still hear the music, I remember waking to return to class; I had a burning urge to tell strangers what had happened. I still can't believe what I experienced.
Artists like Robert Rich produced music to listen to while asleep back in the 80s.
