Thank you for doing these videos! Love how you pick a feature and focus just on it! Much more useful than doing a project from start to finish and makes it easier to go back and look up specific features you are working on. Great work!!
Thanks a lot TJ. I have learned a lot from your videos, a lot more than watching somebody design some project that leaves you not understanding the tools they are using and why they choose those tools. Your method inspires more creativity. Again thanks a ton.
These videos are great. I have a little experience with Design space. These videos take you by the hand and walk you through step by step. I am very grateful for them. You are a great teacher!
Thank you for all of these very well done tutorials. Last night I watched Lessons 1-11. later I added 15. Excellent progression of teaching each tool. Lesson 10 is what I needed for my "end game". I am a Quilter that needs templates cut precisely by my Sihouette Cameo. Easy to do with well designed templates. But when they are hand drawn, forget it! Your tutorials have taught me how to take hand drawn designs and turn them into well done SVG files. Game changer for me!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
I got really stuck on this one for a long time. I kept trying to change the color of the duplicate object that I had created but every time I tried, it changed both objects as if they were one, or linked in some way. I had to select the clone and then object to path. Finally I figured out that on a Mac, I should have used command+D to create the duplicate and not option+D. Just posting this in case anyone else makes the same mistake. Thanks for the videos TJ! I am learning a lot!
Okay I installed inkscape today and this the video number ten that I watch from your channel your videos were very helpful I will share your channel with anyone who asks me where did I learn. Thank you so much and God bless you.
I was completely lost...i didn't know how to use inkscape and then i came across your tutorials.... amazing the way u teach... will definitely share, if someone asks
I've seen that you made the videos 2 yrs back, but for your knowledge, I've been through all of them these days, step by step and learned a great amount. You are doing every bit so detailed and careful and things that I've picked up in 4th of 3rd are coming up in real time during work. Putting the pieces together and doing my new company's logo now - by myself!!! Thank you sooo much, amazing work!!! Keep it up!
I'm learning a crazy amount from your videos - this is just what I needed to take my brand to the next level. Thanks for these videos, keep up the great work!
lock object aspect ratio with toolbar button 1:59 left click on first point to complete outline path 4:26 toggle between stroke and fill controls with the shift key 4:51 duplicate source object with ctrl d 6:47 smooth path with simplify under path menu 7:09 create shadow or blur with duplicate objects 7:30
this is definitely the best video so far in this series ... combining what we've learned to create this cool project is indeed inspiring as you mentioned .. THANK YOU
Thank you! I designed a tabletop using a bunch of different points on a french curve. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a way to get a cleaned up version that I can print out for a paper template, and I believe this might just do the trick. You're awesome, thank you! Lol
I just practiced over a hummingbird picture following your steps and it looks pretty cool. Thank you so much for the tutorials. It's turning out to be really helpful. 👍👍
Thanks for doing these individual feature lessons, they are a great help. I am trying to use this one, and No. 11, in making stencils, for airbrush work, from my own photos.I knew of the features before but your lessons are essential I find to understanding them fully.
Thanks for these videos, I appreciate you. They helped me address designing issues I was encountering but with inkscape and these videos I am off to the races :)
love, love, love the very thorough videos! the haircut of the dude in the pic you traced, on the other hand... lol : p watching them in order, i'm hoping later you cover how to merge shapes into one...
Brilliant videos, I'm learning so much!! Slight problem downloading this one though, I get on called "DPI_-File-Size_-_-Exporting-Options" instead... Stay safe and healthy.
Quick question, how would I do a hairline for a vinyl cutter? Most of the other programs I used allowed a "hairline" option in the stroke width, but there seems to be no such option. Maybe setting the width to 1px?
i love your videos. very helpful and easy to follow. I have downloaded inkscape because i want to creat my own gym brand so i have started designing some stuff. I am going to get a graphics tablet for my birthday as i think that will be a lot easier to use than a track pad.
Thank you for taking incredible time to help us learn. Would like to bring a coloring book, page by page of course, into InkScape and color. Can I color? Thanks, in advance.
Good question. Yes, to do this you can use the 'Trace Bitmap' feature, and then color with the bucket fill tool. If you want to color with a drawing tablet, using brushes, there is another free software, Krita, that would work better for that.
@@TJFREE Thanks. I'm working through "Trace Bitmap Tool". Been jumping from one graphics tool to another since one week past. First pinnacle video, then GIMP, then Krita. Spend most time learning from you. You have GIMP on playlist, but not Krita? Again, thanks so much.
I’m going through your series and this is almost exactly what I was looking for. I’d like to go a step further and cut out holes in the object that was created from tracing. I will continue watching your series, hoping you cover that. If not, what do you suggest doing?
Firstly, thank you Mr TJ for superbly narrated tutorials. You made Inkscape way less intimidating for me. However, I have used the Bezier tool to trace a piece of my own imported artwork/logo & am encountering a problem? The image appears perfect until I 'fill' & the cut-outs are filled in? Have you encountered this before, & if so, can you suggest a remedy? Thanking you in anticipation. Be healthy!
Hi TJ, this was super helpful! Now that I have my outline, what steps do I need to take to merge the outline inside of a circle? I've tried several things and I am obviously missing something
I know this is an older video, but I am just working on learning inkscape. Is it possible once you create the initial trace to offset it outward and then delete the original trace? For example, trace the outline of a raster image, then trace the outside with the bezier tool, and offset it to create a cut path for a laser?
So when I use regular bezier tool and using left click try to make curves, i find it difficult to make my next curve as it forces me to curve in the opposite direction. So say I make a curve towards the left hand side by drawing a line and then using left click, to make the next curve on the same side there is simply no option as it doesn't curve on the left hand side no matter what i do, moreover it suggests to curve towards the right hand side. It is super frustrating and making is impossible it to trace anything.
Does anyone know why is it the object created by bevel in triangle mode cant be duplicated. I tried duplicating it but it overlaps with one another and on moving the duplicate, the orginal object also moves. This happens only in triangle mode
my regular bezier took is inversely mirroring curves when i make one using left click. it is impossible to make an outline in one flow because of it. how can it be fixed
Thank you for doing these videos! Love how you pick a feature and focus just on it! Much more useful than doing a project from start to finish and makes it easier to go back and look up specific features you are working on. Great work!!
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate the feedback!

Thank you, without this video I would have skewed this up 😊
I like this but what about if I wanted to do lines of my drawing I've just scanned? Same idea but not with a fill?

I was confused with ctrl +z keyboard. you said like ctrl + g. But anyway, the best tutorial on RUclips.

Really could use your help doing a jersey swap. Taking a jersey from one picture and adding it to a different picture. Please!!!
If your on a Mac it will not let you drag and drop the jpeg. So I had to open it with that open folder in the top left.
Good to know, thanks for sharing!
Really useful. Thank you!
Wow, thank you so much
