Flytanium makes a quality product, I have a set of their titanium scales for my pm2. For my mini bugout I bought a set of Rock Scale Design scales. IMO they are better quality than flytanium and best of all they are made in the US as where flytanium scales are made in China. Matt the owner is very helpful and stands behind his products. They are a little bit more expensive than flytanium but in my opinion it is worth the extra price to support a small business. I’m pretty sure they are made to order also as his store is only open for orders on the weekends.

Looks great with both scales I find. About the regrind - I can well understand people going for it - I did a regrind on my GM Ace Iona and it became a fantastic EDC (was way too thick before, now it can slice an apple cleanly).

The Flytanium scales in titanium really do look amazing on the mini bugout with the black dlc blade. As far as that whole flex you did about the flex of the scales? I’d say a. The cf-elite scales are definitely much stronger than the grivory and b. The mini bugout has less flex in general because there’s less length. If you ever held the full size bugout and just squeeze it in your hand like you’re going to bare down on something, it’ll flex all day without anyone necessarily trying to do it. For as much as the knife costs it’s definitely annoying. Grivory scales blow, that’s all there is to it. Either way man good video, nice scales. I’ve got the mini in black cf-elite and might run with the ti flytanium when I decide to swap.

SMKW is selling a standard Bugout with stonewashed titanium scales. Now they need to do a mini Bugout with titanium scales.

Just got these, they're too thick which makes the axis lock pushers flush and super hard to pull down on. be careful.

looks really nice! I used to EDC my mini AFCK and somehow have misplaced it. :( I'm in the market for another knife... is the bugout MINI similar in size to the Mini AFCK? or is the full size bugout similar? I loved the size of my mini AFCK.. not too small but small. how much did you pay for the scales?

I'm looking at the titanium but Flytanium also makes carbon fiber and they weigh almost half as much as the titanium. What's your opinion on titanium versus carbon fiber?

«If you want a stronger knife, use a fixed blade».
When people think my 50’s Harley chopper with a rigid frame and no front brake looks sketchy I use to tell them «I have a Volvo for the safe trips».
