- Boney M was founded by German producer Frank Farian in 1975 and consisted of four originally Caribbean artists from England, Germany and the Netherlands: singers Marcia Barrett and Liz Mitchell, model Maizie Williams and Bobby Farrell. Boney M. is known for the mix of white and black music; the producer is white and the singers are black. In addition, many songs have a black (emancipatory) background. The group owes its name to the main character Napoleon 'Boney' Bonaparte from the Australian detective series Boney (1971-1972) of which the founder Farian was a big fan.

World famous music artists performed on TopPop: ABBA, 10CC, Bee Gees, The Jacksons with Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Earth & Fire, Queen, Golden Earring, Boney M, KC & The Sunshine Band, Chic, Donna Summer and many many more.
The production on these late 70s Boney M records is better than a lot of music productions these days.

Never seen such a cool and epic free style dancer as Bobby Farrell.
He couldn't sing but he was a great dancer. Incidentally, one of the female performers couldn't sing very well either and didn't appear on any of the studio records, although she did sing live.

Wow 1:46, can't believe Liz made a mistake with hand gesture of taught her 4 sons using how to handle their guns gesture but recovered, and she knew it too by the look and smile on her face; she recovered so quickly though.😂 Guessing Bobby not the only one who mixed gestures and moves. ...just saying Wow! Sometimes we have seen Liz call Bobby on some of his mistakes.

They weren't exactly poor but Frank Farian, the producer, founder and provider of the male voice became even less poor.... Farian created more bands or songs for bands. His probably most notorious act was Milli Vanilli.
