    Add a snifter, (grease fitting with the spring removed and a screw to hold the bearing in place) and a pressure guage with a shut off valve between the system so that it doesn't continually take the (ram) hit.

    I’m assuming the water intake to the pond is greater than the waste valve discharge is?
    This would be awesome to use at my farm but I’m afraid my pond water volume is too small and I would drain my pond. The water only goes over the spillway /overflow maybe 3-4 times a year. The county diverted the ditches where I don’t get the water run off anymore. I’m tempted to dig a new ditch to take the water.

    • @RushHourRecords
      @RushHourRecords 2 года назад +1

      that would be correct - you notice in his video his pond always has some overflow - if you do not have any water coming in to your pond you will eventualy have no water in your pond -
      apparently the ratio is about 5L (1 gallon ish) up hill to 20L (4 gallons) waste water
      and you can work out how much water it pumps per day (say 1000L) will have (4000L) waste so you need 5000L per day water coming into the dam for it to stay at the same level if incoming water is insufficient then your dam/pond will empty.

    i made a pool pump with no moving parts. there are two valves only used to prime unit .it runs on gravity alone .no hammer no reciprocating parts.
    a vacuum tight vessel ( olive drum 50 gal. )4 ' above my pool. one line simply comes from the pool to top of drum and second line comes from bottom of drum but is 5 times longer and coiled under drum 3 ' above pool. i closed exit valve and filled drum with a hose from well. once all air is purged , closed both valves and connected the inlet line from pool back to top of drum .as soon as i opened the valves , water ran like mad ! it ran untill i shut it down because it sucked the plastic barrel in. but it was still running. i have an old air compressor tank to replace it with. it won't collapse like the olive drum. free , quiet and can be scaled up and made to go higher . no ram pump .literally no moving parts .i almost fell over when i saw it realy working. so easy so cheap you must try it. the trick is sealed system to keep air out and longer down run than supply run. i did it in a small space with coiled grove hose that is somewhat rigid but already comes coiled up. this could be done with a long straight down run also. i just didn't need to go far away with my water .next is my pond and a giant propane tank! then a water wheel making electricity 24 /. 7
