I got Saved the night I heard this song Wish We’d All Been Ready in the movie A Thief In the Night 45 years ago next moth in the United States Canal Zone! Amen! Thank you Jesus!
I got introduce to Larry Norman music in the mid 70's I was serving the Lord back then for a few years. Came back to the Lord in 2013. Wish I wouldn't of fell away. Larry Norman did some awesome songs and music for Jesus. He will always be remembered.
I still listen to Larry Norman music on utube. I share them on my Facebook page. Of course a lot of people don't seem to relate to his music. I still think he's Awesome.
Larry was a bridge for me to cross from the Heavy Metal band I was in in 1977 to a new life in Jesus. The Christian music at that time was Hymns, Love Song and other more gentle forms of worship music and I later came to appreciate them but not at first. The Rock that doesn't roll and Why does the devil have all the good music gave me the music and beat that I loved while crossing the Jordan to the new promised land in Messiah Jesus.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. It brought back some wonderful memories of someone who inspired me in so many ways, not least my music and concert presentation. Larry was a human, with all the faults of humanity, but he was also a shining light in a dark world.
I talked to him after a concert in Tx once. I still remember when he looked at me and smiled. The love in his eyes pierced my heart, giving me the feeling I had seen and felt the love of Jesus.
WOW! Thank you for sharing this concert. This evening in Skudeneshamn was special, Larry had a strong message and he performed fantastic! His message is still relevant today ❤
Awesome preaching - few people had the personal integrity and courage to listen to God, obey at any cost and speak the Truth out regardless of popularity like Larry Norman. Wow!
Tim ...He was not anything he said he was... listen to interviews with people who knew him well ... more than a dozen... ruclips.net/p/PLaSmYOhNPYIS9HwSI96S-x1Z2uMCpdEBQ
Wow! That was intense! Larry proved that rock music could be used to praise the Lord and for His glory! “Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery and harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” (Psalm 150:3-6)
What a great performance, vocals sound great.... message is always straight to the point. This was surely an era for Jesus music and a nice way to end a tour. As a side note, I think the lead guitar player has a nice tone and compliments Larry well.
I saw him live too, and bought his albums... I was young and dumb... he was awful in real life... a total liar and user... ruclips.net/p/PLaSmYOhNPYIS9HwSI96S-x1Z2uMCpdEBQ
Everything belongs to the Lord... including Rock and Roll. Why weren't Larry's songs on the radio in the late 60's and early 70's? I never heard of Larry Norman until 1982 when I made friends with a girl in my dorm who was a Christian and worked at the university radio station. I would love to have heard his music on the radio when I was coming along.
I remember the song you are referring to, “I Love you” by People, the band Larry was in. It was a hit in 1966 originally recorded by the Zombies. What I was referring to were Larry’s songs themselves. Jesus was no stranger to the lyrical content of Top 40 radio during the late 60s and early 70s. Just off the top of my head. Blood, Sweat & Tears, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder,, Ray Stevens, Aretha Franklin and BJ Thomas come to mind, not to mention songs that advocated Jesus’ teachings and Christian values. Larry was obviously direct but not every single one of Larry’s songs make reference to God the Father or Son, for example “Pardon Me.”. It’s a shame Larry’s music was not out there circulating to a national audience in a culture that was at least basically respectful of Christianity.
Larry's fans included Bob Dylan so he sure was controversial mixing rock with Jesus at the start..Glad I met Larry here in Australia of 83..Great lyricist that's for sure..
Moses disobeyed God. Noah was a drunk. David was a murderer and an adulterer. Jonah ran from God. Peter denied Christ. So, everyone pointing out Larry's flaws, try to find some grace.
Right on Larry, though you are gone, your spirit is yet amongst us. If Bob Dylan was a prophet to his time(which is temperal), your message to us then, now, and the future is eternal. I love you for your authenticity.
Thats right! Denny travelled and "took care" of Larry at that moment. It was not easy to be with Larry at that time. Larry met his australian son in London for the first time and Larry struggled with health problems...

He released an album called the Last Temptation which also included a comic book with the story being told thru that format. All that to say... when Larry wrote "Reader Digest" Alice was dressing like a drag queen.

I shared some of his songs with a messianic rabbi (Right Here In America for one) and he too said they were prophetic
