Ignore the trolls you are doing great. I started my zwift journey a couple years ago 115kg cat D Now 97kg and a struggling cat C but I still enjoy the races. Like you say you are at least doing exercise rather than sitting on the sofa 👍
I’m a cyclist/zwifter and I love to see your zwifting videos and couldn’t care less if you’re zwifting on a penny farthing, I still find them entertaining. Keep them coming 💪🏽👍🏼
Penny Farthing...😂 I nearly spat my tea out. That would make for one awesome video... (looks up Panny Farthing on Ebay). Thanks for watching and I appreciate the support. 🙏🙌

I got a zwift bike a couple months ago and am having so much fun with it. Turns out I don't race enough according to your recommendations, but I love it as a tool to train inside - safe and comfortable.

Fantastic journey, made me quite emotional in parts in regards the loss of your grandparents and support of your girls. Well done fella; truly inspirational and shows anyone can do it, step by step & day by day!👍💪
Absolutely brilliant video mate. You do know what you're doing. You're putting yourself out there, racing. You're doing it your way. Everyone does it their own way. Whatever works for you is good. Stick with it. You're doing amazing. More zwift videos mate!
Ryan, I really enjoy watching the content that you create. I'm a zwifter , but not a racer. Watching you figure out how to get the best out of yourself is what keeps me coming back. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep watching! Thank you so much.
Yea , this happens. I was in a sprint finish when my internet froze for a split second and next thing I know I'm 3rd. So annoying but we live to ride another day. Keep up the good work and never give up never surrender !
I really enjoy your videos Ryan, there aren't many I've subscribed to where I watch the whole video without stopping... you are one of them! Keep up the good work 🤙🏼
great vid man, back seating everything might be the biggest legacy of the visual internet. I find your vibe really inspiring. I was doing AdZ this last weekend and i kept saying to myself "I smashed that corner!" (i probably didn't) and "I'm X many km into the climb!" (i'm a derpy american using miles units)
You've got a great talent for building a story. Love the zwift content. And the story about fun being the most important part is so true. Gonna go do a race now myself
Well intentioned advice coming: breakaways are typically more difficult on flat courses, as draft advantage is so important at higher speeds. Not saying you shouldn't keep trying, but definitely give yourself a big pay on the back when you do pull it off!
Hi Ryan, Just got into Zwift and I’ve been watching all of your race progress videos. Not sure if you’ll see this message but keep doing what you’re doing. Your videos are pushing me to push harder every day. For that, thank you very much. Side note, you should create your own Zwift club or organise a race. Would definitely join both. Thank you again! Sending a big high five from Australia 🇦🇺
For context - I started following you several weeks ago after I came across one of your Zwift videos. I love your content as (to me) it comes across very genuine and "fly on the wall" not "manufactured" about a very heavy man who was very unfit and wanting to change. Boy have you changed. I signed up for the race tonight (09/02//024), then did the race as a Cat C..... prior to the race .. I walked the dog and "Listened to >>>>this

Ryan, I've been Zwifting for about 3 years now, but only a few races over that time. Your videos have inspired me to go back and try a few more races. Like you, I'm a big body on a bike (111 kg) and a bit on the older side (64), so hilly courses can be difficult, but give me rollers and I have a shot. Keep producing these Zwift videos, VERY enjoyable.
@RyanCondon Im an overweight runner/sometime cyclist so I feel your pain. I think you are doing amazing you must be getting on for having lost 100kg now so who cares if you don't know everything. Surely the fun in some of these things is learning. Keep up the awesome work.
I may be wrong, but I think even troll comments are "engagement" that youtube loves so it helps the channel? I just got back from the UK and tried to keep up my fitness by jogging instead of cycling and my knees are not happy. Lovely time dragging my future stepdaughter on a "proper English jog" through a lot of mud but I'm not fond of being reminded of my multiple knee surgeries when in exercise. Keep going Ryan, love to see the family supporting your journey.
Hi Ryan, I really enjoy your videos. I’ve only raced on Zwift once in cat D and got into cat C after that, and I am too scared too try. Your videos help motivate me to just go for it. As I also run, I like both your Zwift and running content. Keep up the good work!
AMAZING! You are getting closer and closer to a win. It looks like your 15s - 1min power has increased also. Cool to see how you try different strategies, I wanted it to work so bad at the end lol. I was also surprised that attack at the start worked. Maybe try once for a change to spend as little energy as possible (also at the start) in the pack while staying near the front (!) with the goal to be as fresh as possible near the finish.
I loved the editing on your breakaway race, that was a really cool video and I loved how you captured the feeling of giving something your all and learning from the experience. Was super excited to see that I ended up in a race with you the other day, hope to see more of you on youtube and in Zwift in the future!
I'm just about to turn 60 and found your videos just before Christmas time and now look forward to the next one coming out.the talking parts are brilliant giving a better understanding of how to use zwift and how we all feel afterwards keep it up big man Inspirational
Awesome video and very inspiring. I adored the choice of music for the breakaway. If I ever get a win on Zwift it's usually from a break. I love the romanticism of trying a long shot, you never know when it's going to stick.
Another great video Ryan - so much wisdom there. I've been backing off doing the full gas efforts recently because it's just too painful but you reminded me that the feeling you get afterwards when you do is unsurpassed so you have given this zwifter a kick up the backside!
Hey Ryan, I always look forward to your videos and have found them to be great motivation for my own Zwift journey. Started zwifting round about the same time as you and your channel has been my go to since then. Keep going and doing you, chapeau 👍🏼
As you said, if you don't like it, jump to another video! I love your videos! They have me glued to the screen and I don't separate until the end! Thank you for your videos.
Well said. I love your authenticity and you are very motivating. I am a B rider (was even A+ in the past) and this goes to show that the level in which you're sporting is not relevant. It's much more important to just enjoy it and hade fun.
Brilliant video Ryan and congrats on your progression on Zwift. I'm just new to Zwifting too (been a road cyclist for decades), but unlike your good self I'm finding more joy in training than racing. I do races, but have never had the urge to win. I just want to improve my ability. I started at an FTP of 201 and in 4 months I'm now up at 215. Moved from Cat D to Cat C and that kind of killed my enjoyment in racing. Currently 3 weeks through the Build Me Up training program and seeing so much improvement. Keep up the job work Ryan and Zwift on mate 👍
Thank you for sharing your progress.. That's awesome to read. I know that the training plans work and benefit many riders. I need to scratch this itch then I can maybe work on my cycling ability.
I love your videos because they're so relatable to my own journey into zwift. Thankfully you're way too mentally strong to let those trolls get to you, and i hope you keep making videos for a long time. It takes guts to make videos like this, and i wish more cat C and D riders would make vids of their experience. As Zwift is basically a video game, you might get some good ideas, if you go and see what the people over at Twitch use as their video recording setups. Many of them have descriptions of their gear in their "about me" sections. But you're doing a great job, so keep it up. :)
watched a few of your videos, and got inspired to get zwift myself, so installing right now :D Have to lose some weight, and have been a cyclist many years ago. Your videos are fun to watch. thanks!
Haters gonna hate. Keep doing what you are doing mate. It's inspired me to get off my backside and hit Zift on days when sitting on the couch would be the easy option.
We all started at level 1. ZWIFTCRAFT is like life, you learn as you go. Even level 100 elite zwifters are going to make mistakes. Going too early, going to fast, and so on, That’s why we race!!! Glad to see you are so emotionally invested in each ride. So curious to your new computer/recording equipment. I to have decided that it’s time for an upgrade. I’ve decided to build a dedicated computer for Zwift. Always keep it FUN!! Try doing the tour Zwift rides starting at the back and seeing how many people you can pass. TFC has mad Monday races, definitely something to look into. We do a split category. High and low of each category.. so instead of 4 there is 8 categories. Trial and error, it’s just like life outside the game. RIDE ON!!
Great video. I love the way you develop strategies to achieve your first win on Zwift. Keep up the great work and content. I'm an inspired follower also striving for my first Cat D win. I'm a few months behind you and still 107kgs but making progress 😊
That was cracy exciting. I really thought you had that last race in the bag. I was screaming at my screen for you to win. But you will get there! (if you are not bumped to C before getting your win) I really enjoy your videos both on zwift and on running. Keep up the good work!
I really enjoy your videos Ryan your enthusiasm and determination has really inspired me to focus on my own cycling journey keep up the good work and keep posting those videos you’re quickly becoming one of my favourite channels 👍
I love your videos, and formats, and all the talking. Overcoming a hard challenge, achieving personal goals. It's fun, unique, and haters gonna hate :p With over 3000 subscribers, proves you're doing a great job!
Great video Ryan, yes I agree there are lots of opinions and ideas about the best way of doing things, but although we are kinda doing the same thing on a bike we are all different, so I guess through trial and error you’ll figure what works for you. Any advice I give to anyone is meant to be helpful and as just something to try. Personally I’ve been cycling for 45 years (😮 just turned 50) and still learning! Great riding with you the other night with the kaboom crew, looking forward to the video. 👍
I had the same DNF thing happen with my last race.. was gutted. I didn’t finish anywhere near the top, but it wasn’t the point.. I gave it my all, and the. Zwift discounted the entire thing like I didn’t even bother. They really need to fix it asap, it’s not good enough.
Fantastic Ryan :) I love your videos. And it will always be those trolls on the internet. What does not kill us makes us stronger, I use this quote in everything I do :). I use a 22 year old Road Bike, event in real life races/group rides. And the most comments I get is that almost every one I meet in real life with that bike thinks its a really cool classic bike. "Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can". Im in a cycling club called Team Valhalla where we are riding Zwift together, both Group Rides, races and Team Time Trial and we have a quote who describe who we are "I dont stop when Im tired, I stop when Im done." We have many members in all categories so if you ever want to join us let me know and I will help you with it. Never stop being you my mate, love that you are you regardless of what anyone think. You are a Hero in my book. Richard Trefjord
Your comment at 8:20 is my exact philosophy. If it’s not fun I’ll stop. Until then I’m going to do what I do and enjoy myself even if that means I’m sprinting for 135th place like I did last night. Your videos are very motivational for me. Keep up the great work and let the haters hate
That's exactly it! I'm pleased my point came across ok. 😅 I always sprint, even when I'm on my own at the end of a TDZ race. 💪 Keep up the great work my friend. 🙌🙏
@@RyanCondon for your race strategy I like to look at each race as it goes. I tend to find that an early break is rarely successful for me. I’ve had better success going for a longish sprint when I was in cat D. Now that I’m in cat C I’m holding on for dear life trying to stay with the front group. It’s been hard and I’ve been dropped more than I haven’t but I’m still having fun and pushing myself.
Seems this topic will never go away > "online haters have no filter or empathy". Just seems so much easier for people to be able to "try" and tear people down online; yes! frustrating but like most previous posts and your stats show, you have way more people enjoying and being positive about the content... so keep on as you say while you have fun. Just got Zwift early December and really only started racing after finding your videos. Addicting is a great word considering the pain we all go through 😂. I also tried TDF racing, but just one before I jumped ship and just did the group rides. Like You I found the Flat is Fast and the smile on my face (well inside anyway) was amazing. I'd fall off my bike afterwards but doing sprints at the end were so rewarding (not that I won) but in being able to push yourself.
First vid I watched of yours was the London to Brighton one, and I thought "who is this guy"? Since then I've watched several of your vids and I thoroughly enjoy your verbosity, and appreciate the journey you've embarked on. There will always be detractors. Some are worth responding to, but most are not as they are usually egotistical armchair critics with little better to do than moan. Keep up the verbosity. Your passion is obvious and endearing. Like you, I love people who have a passion for a subject, and listening to such people has taught me an awful lot about subjects I might not usually be interested in. More power to you, dude!
Great video, keep having fun! For those hilly races, try turning the trainer difficulty down some, it will help. Please share a warmup video, I'd like to see what you are doing. Keep doing what you are doing, and you'll learn.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I might turn it down, currently on 100% I think from my last ADZ attempt and didn't turn it back down. My warmups normally consist of a rushed panic spin in the pen or a longer slow ride around a random course if I get on with more time. Between work and YT I unfortunately have to rush alot. Basically my warmup isn't anything special.
@@RyanCondon I'm sure you know how important that warmup is. That's why I asked to see it. No point in me commenting about something I don't know how you perform. I like to warmup with the pace partners, might as well get extra drops for it.
I just started Zwift in December. I just screwed around for the first 15 levels or so getting used to it. I did the FTP and it put me in Cat C which I didn't really want right off the bat. Im a decently strong rider, i commute to work on bike every day but Im more endurance than speed/sprint. At this point im a mid Cat C rider in the 2 races i have done and im happy with that. Love zwift.
The 4 horse man was amazing thanks not my have finished , you are a master of the hard style, tip when you hit a high fitness, and you have a cold , please reset your ftp, half, ie mine was 305watts for 20min , I rest at 185watts, and improving by 16wats, made easy, I do not care about win or losing, like you i enjoyed improving from my lesson s😊
haha i was "egging you on" in that last race, 1.5km out with a fantastic momentum sling shot straight through the pack. I personally "go" at 1km-900m and try and catch everyone sleeping just like you did, as i don't have the +1k Watts sprint power. Great effort off the line splitting up everyone, then managing to recover enough to go again at the end 💪💪
Thanks Scott. I don't have a sprint atm (working on it) so I think my win is going to have to come from a breakaway I just went too early in this race.
being a mid cat b rider, I find your journey very interesting. progress have been flat the last months, and trying to stay motivated is as tuff in B as in D guess it just never gets easier. chasing first win in a cat is just tuff,
Hi Ryan. I'm a bit behind with watching your videos, but on a mission to catch up and get back up to date with your Zwift progress. 🙂 I laughed out loud when you said 'Achterbahn' - that course flattened me on the Tour de Zwift, destroying my cockiness about what I was taking on after doing the Alpe a coupe of times. 😂
I trained with a Welsh champion all-rounder for 25, 50, 100, 12hours , his name is nigel Lewis broke all corse records for 7year. now held by the best triathletes in bynea Cycling club world class .
You are doing great job man. Fantastic work. I can't wait to see you wearing proper slim fit cycling kit some time in the future :) .. but this will come for sure :)

As Zwift is basically a video game, you might get some good ideas, if you go and see what the people over at Twitch use as their video recording setups. Many of them have descriptions of their gear in their "about me" sections. But you're doing a great job, so keep it up. :)
Thank you my friend. 🙌
Love it. Keep doing you, racing and exploring.
Will do! Thank you.
watched a few of your videos, and got inspired to get zwift myself, so installing right now :D Have to lose some weight, and have been a cyclist many years ago. Your videos are fun to watch. thanks!
Good for you Andrew. 🙌
Haters gonna hate. Keep doing what you are doing mate. It's inspired me to get off my backside and hit Zift on days when sitting on the couch would be the easy option.
Thanks Stephen. Good for you, getting up and going when the easier option is tempting. 🙌💪
RIDE ON!!
Thanks for the comment! I'm pleased you enjoyed the vid. 👍
Good tip on passing through the pack. 🙌
Great video. I love the way you develop strategies to achieve your first win on Zwift. Keep up the great work and content. I'm an inspired follower also striving for my first Cat D win. I'm a few months behind you and still 107kgs but making progress 😊
Thanks Kevin. I doubt you're behind, I pretend what I'm doing is working. 😅
I reckon a breakaway is my best chance so gonna practice them.
@@RyanCondon You almost had it!
Brilliant video. Loving the fitness journey. Keep them coming. 👍
Mate you are a legend!!
That was cracy exciting. I really thought you had that last race in the bag. I was screaming at my screen for you to win. But you will get there! (if you are not bumped to C before getting your win) I really enjoy your videos both on zwift and on running. Keep up the good work!
I'm scared to weigh myself as that's the only thing keeping me under 2.5wkg. I nearly had it. I went too early.
I really enjoy your videos Ryan your enthusiasm and determination has really inspired me to focus on my own cycling journey keep up the good work and keep posting those videos you’re quickly becoming one of my favourite channels 👍
Thanks Alec. I will do! 🙌
Lovely vid! Hope to see you in one of these Cat D races :) Ride on!
I enjoyed you video as usual. I would like to see more about weight loss and also your zwift journey.
Ok. I've got a good Zwift racing video coming next week. 😀
I really like your videos and they helped me to get my arse up again. Keep it up 👌
Good for you. Thanks for watching.
I love your videos, and formats, and all the talking. Overcoming a hard challenge, achieving personal goals. It's fun, unique, and haters gonna hate :p With over 3000 subscribers, proves you're doing a great job!
Haha, lesson one of changing your equipment: always test it works as expected :p
Going early for a breakaway is the right move if you're not a sprinter! Keep at it, and you'll be able to hold that breakaway effort for longer :)
Thanks Jessica. I really appreciate that. 🙌🙏
This is true. 😅
Im Watching this instead of warming up for the race tonight !
😂 Awesome race btw. Thanks for joining. I saw you in the pen and on the finish line. 🙏💪🙌
Well done Ryan 👏 you keep doing what your doing, and you WILL get that win, I will see you at the 7pm race today 👍 keep Zwifting..
Thanks for joining the race. Unbelievable turnout. 🙌
You’ve inspired me to purchase a wahoo turbo trainer and give this zwift thing a go. Hope to see you (virtually) in a race soon 👍
Awesome. I should be on commission from Zwift. 😅
Good luck. Keep me updated. 👍
We did a race together this week. I smiled when I saw your name in the results. Great effort!
Great to race with you. Thanks for watching. 🙌
Thanks Alan. I appreciate that! It was great to ride with you, I saw you supporting. That race was epic!! Thanks again for joining.
Love the videos. Enjoy watching your progress. Keep going 😊
Thanks Andy. 🙏
I had the same DNF thing happen with my last race.. was gutted. I didn’t finish anywhere near the top, but it wasn’t the point.. I gave it my all, and the. Zwift discounted the entire thing like I didn’t even bother. They really need to fix it asap, it’s not good enough.
You're right Tom. It isn't good enough. Ride on!
Thanks Richard. I really appreciate that! I'm pleased you enjoy my vids. Cheers for the comment.
Great video thanks you are great runner, and only a matter of time will be in zwift cycling, 😊
Fantastic video Ryan bravo sir 👏
Keep em coming. Your an inspiring guy with your weight loss journey 😊
Thank you! Will do. 👍
I always sprint, even when I'm on my own at the end of a TDZ race. 💪
Keep up the great work my friend.
Very inspiring video Ray. Must try the double Muckle Yin soon
That's great to read that you're enjoying Zwift. I'm pleased you enjoy my vids. Thanks for the support. 🙌
Every one on zwift cycling or racing or running are amazing 😊.
I agree my friend. 🙌
I love a good Zwift race.
Me too!
@@SlinkShady thank you Slink for the comment and for the kind words. I really appreciate that. 🙏💪👍
@@RyanCondon you're very welcome, and thank you! 👌✌🤘
@@CBRMackie63 Im unsure what a warmup should look like so happy for some tips. I currently dont use the Robo Pacers but thats a good idea.
@@RyanCondon I'll record my warmup routine and load it to RUclips. I've been meaning to do it for a while.
Love zwift.
I'd take mid pack Cat C any day. Great place to start and build on. 💪
Thanks for watching. 👍
11months zwift cycling Level 28, level 3zwift running. C cat. 😊, 3,108km , my target 2,000mile by 2nd week of march 2024.😊
Recently discovered your channel. Really enjoying your content and your amazing journey. Keep it up. 👍
I'm very pleased you found my channel and enjoy my vids. Thanks for watching. 🙌
being a mid cat b rider, I find your journey very interesting. progress have been flat the last months, and trying to stay motivated is as tuff in B as in D guess it just never gets easier. chasing first win in a cat is just tuff,
i really enjoy your videos while i'm on my bike and do zwifting. the whole live is not perfect....
Achterbahn was brutal. In no rush to redo that course. 😅
You know what I always say… don’t worry bout dem hatersssss or keyboard coaches!!!! YOU DO YOU!
I trained with a Welsh champion all-rounder for 25, 50, 100, 12hours , his name is nigel Lewis broke all corse records for 7year. now held by the best triathletes in bynea Cycling club world class .
That's awesome!
Your videos are awesome.
Thank you! I really appreciate that. 🙌🙏
You make great content 👏 👌 😊
You are doing great job man. Fantastic work. I can't wait to see you wearing proper slim fit cycling kit some time in the future :) .. but this will come for sure :)
Thanks!
I'm not sure, even if I lose another few KG and tone upto Ryan Gosling level, I'll ever NOT feel self conscious in a skin tight lycra outfit. 🤣
Thank you for the watch and the compliment. 👌
