    Very helpful! During the habituation process, one can't ever be reminnded enough about the importance of consistency in sound therapy, mental/psychological pieces and maintaining a positive and hopeful outlook. And dreaming is SO important. Grateful for Dr. Sarah and Dr. Ben, whose excitement is contagious and always incredibly motivational. Thank you both!

    I really liked this video I know its an older one but i really like Dr Sarah she is a bright light and an encouragement. I have used sound therapy for 7 months 24 hours a day no regrets there and other things that she mentioned .I am slowly tapering off sound therapy. I can handle silence for a certain amount of time. So my question is am i beginning to habituate. However I am still using tools that Dr Sarah Mentioned and sound therapy but not 24 hours a day now. Hope I get an answer. Thanks for the video.

      We're so happy to hear that you have found benefit through sound therapy and implementing different tools/techniques from Treble Health. It does sound like you are habituating! Full habituation can take up to 18-24 months so be patient with the process and continue doing what works!

    I have had tinnitus for 12 years. It took me a year when the therapy and sound therapy to habituate. I went for hears forgetting I had tinnitus until about a year ago I noticed my hearing loss. My tinnitus gradually started to bother me. I have now been told I need a hearing aid but this time the tinnitus is loud but I know how to cope with the it and I know I will habituate it. I am using sound therapy again and hoping hearing aid will help.

    Here’s my situation and question. I’ve had my tinnitus for 10 months now-and I’m doing CBT, TRT, sound therapy, and the support group. My tinnitus during the day went from a 10 to a 0 during the day and afternoon. It took me 6 months before all these techniques cause a tinnitus change. Now it’s consistent. At night my tinnitus is always a 10. So my question is 1st, being habituated at least most of the 24 hr day do I need to still keep doing the techniques even though I’m just having problems at night? Am I mostly habituated or habituation is every day all day?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  Год назад

      We recommend using techniques such as CBT, TRT, etc. whenever you feel like your tinnitus gets overwhelming or bothersome. If it is still bothersome at night compared to the rest of the day, continue use of tinnitus management techniques at night as well. Habituation occurs when negative feelings are not correlated to your tinnitus. It seems like you've been doing a great job with this! I had sudden hearing loss (total loss that partially rebounded after several shots of steroids in my inner ears) along with bi-lateral vestibulitis about 15 years ago. No explanation other than maybe ‘viral’. With all that i got tinnitus in both ears. There is nothing I can do about the hearing loss but I have most of my balance back. The tinnitus remains. Would I be a candidate for CBT to treat my tinnitus?
