BUY-BUST OPERATION IN SITIO BAKRAS, BARANGAY BULANAO CENTRO, TABUK CITY, KALINGA
At around 5:50 PM on July 30, 2021, combined operatives of PDEA Regional Office II (PDEA RO II) under the direct supervision of Director Joel B. Plaza, Police Regional Office Cordillera-Regional Intelligence Division (PROCOR-RID), PROCOR Drug Enforcement Unit (PROCOR-DEU), Kalinga Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (KPPO-PIU), and local police conducted a buy-bust operation in Sitio Bakras, Barangay Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga that led in the arrest of the following suspects identified as:
a. Cindy Adawi y Paclay alias Cynthia; and
b. Saldy Wassigan y Solog
Seized from the suspects during the buy-bust operation were 10 bricks of dried marijuana leaves 9733.8 grams, and the buy-bust money.
A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, was filed against the suspects.
The information emanated from the report to PDEA RO II of a certain alias Cynthia from Sitio Ileb, Nambaran, Tabuk City, Kalinga who was then a plain housekeeper, and went to work in Malaysia as domestic helper until her contract expired.
Alias Cynthia started a pork delivery business as she returned the country. At the start of 2019, one of her customers offered her to deliver marijuana along with her business in exchange of big amount of money where she became interested until she became known as a drug courier and distributor to drug personalities in Tuguegarao City and nearby municipalities.
After evaluation of the information, PDEA Regional Office II conducted two test-buy operations thru the CI and designated agent poseur-buyer on May 4, 2021 which resulted to a positive result acquiring 37.1000 grams of dried marijuana leaves as per chemistry result; and on May 10, 2021 to which they again acquired 28.7662 grams of dried marijuana leaves.
On that ground, a buy-bust operation was planned out and successfully conducted on the agreed time and place of transaction that led in the arrest of alias Cynthia and her cohort.
During the investigation, she admitted her involvement in illegal drugs, and further revealed certain alias Michael and Victor Wegan as her first sources of marijuana in Tabuk City but were already arrested.
Further disclosed the names of two other personalities who are her present sources of marijuana.
Upon learning of the process of illegal drug transactions made by her and the personalities she involved, PDEA will continue to conduct investigation and extract information their identities, and the sources for the neutralization of their drug dealings.
