You are awesome. As an OC resident, I've been to many of the restaurants you mentioned and you are 100% spot on! 🎉
You are awesome too! Thanks 😃
People complain about California "culture" but there is no place on earth that you are going to get all these different type of food but what is best is the fusion of these foods. If you just like baked potatoes and meatloaf, then I can see that your life is just inside a box.
Great point Garry!
what about New York city?
Hawaii bro way better food trust
Hello Chris. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this video together. Lots of good info.
Great list Chris! I'm in Lake Forest and love these places and learned about new ones! Started watching you from Vegas videos
I owe you a debt of gratitude, Chris. This was an absolutely superb and helpful presentation, my friend. 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
P.S. I’ll be watching this video over and over again, making notes, and hopefully visiting many of those places.
My pleasure Alex! I hope this brings you some tasty eats!
@@YellowProductions Great suggestions! Thank you, my friend.
THANKS FOR SHOWING US ALL THE GREAT PLACES
I live in Aliso Viejo/OC and this review is so helpful to find the best foods. Thank you!
Thanks Tania!
Thanks for the recommendations. I’m actually heading down to OC in a few weeks. I’ll check out some of these spots
Sweet! I hope you enjoy!
Perfect! We just moved in April! Thanks for this!!!
Welcome to OC 👍👍👍
Baja Fish Tacos, hands down my favorite! I miss their blackened chicken tacos. Also, previous partner opened a place in Los Alamitos called California Cocina. Similar menu but some extras such as fried brussel sprouts with basalmic glaze and sweet potato fries. Salsas and chips are super yummy!
I'll have to check out California Cocina
seems to have terrible reviews on customer service though!
Hey Chris, visiting OC and it's chilly! Thanks for your recommendations!
It is chilly right now! Stay warm!
Italien food is amazing. Lots of parmigiana, so delicious. 😋 So Chris will it be a video of 66 best dessert places in Orange County’s? 😋😋
Ooooh
Nice video Chris it was awesome seeing you at the Trade Food Hall in Irvine.
Hey Teddy! Thanks for stopping by and saying hey!
@@YellowProductions Just letting you know that meeting you for the first time has made my day thank you.
I live in OC my entire life and I am a true foodie...I will say not bad my man...some legit spots. You definitely have a good palette! Thanks for some new spots!!!
Thanks Stacy!
Im from san juan capistrano. Im surprised el campeon didnt make the list!. Rad channel btw. Subbed!
Baja Fish Tacos, Lake Forest. Been there many times. Everything is good. My favorite is the "shrimp tacos"; they are served in a flour tortilla with black beans and rice and a special sauce. The salsa bar is one of the best. The salsas (plural) are fresh and delicious. They have great water (add a lemon or lime wedge). The only criticism is sometimes the serrano peppers are old; so, you have to pick out the best ones.
Taking notes here in Long Beach, CA. Thanks Chris!
Thanks Julie!
So many new places I need to try. My friend was just telling us the other day we need to try Tacos Los Cholos
Definitely try Tacos Los Cholos!
I lived in walking distance to Jalapeños. Just never had a good experience…but around the corner also in Tustin…Los Cotijas Taco Shop has killer fish tacos and a delicious California Burrito.
Definitely a great taco shop in tustin 🔥! Fire fish tacos 🌮! everyone should go there
Jalapeños sucks. I don’t know how it made it so high on his list.
JALAPEÑOS THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE
Mahalo for the comprehensive list. Hope you started a running list for Hawaii/Oahu. 😆🤙
Certainly a running list in my head :)
im in downey, definitely need to try some of these places out
Hey brother! Awesome video! Me and my wife also live in Orange County and we have a new number 1 Mexican place that you gotta try one day! It’s called Amorelias in Costa Mesa off harbor Blvd! Gotta try it my man!
Thanks for the tip Theo!
This is a YUMMY VIDEO! 🐼💛🐼💛
So many great places on this list! If you have never tried Ellie’s Table in San Juan Capistrano I highly recommend it! They have great breakfast and lunch options and The European coffee cake is incredible!
Thanks the tip on Ellies Table!
El pollo fino in Anaheim is the best chicken with many other gems. Quesadillas with hand-made tortillas, and the best menudo 🔥
Thanks for the tip Roberto!
I was gonna mention Lunasia is my favorite for dim sum. It's almost about the same distance for me to go there vs going to Irvine. Their siu mai & haw gao are huge and juicy!! Glad u gave them an honorable mention 😊
Lunasia is indeed most excellent!
Hey Chris, I have tried about 50 places on your list. Here are some of my favorites not mentioned. Tang190 in Irvine for Korean kabi soup, Thanh Binh in Lake Forest for oxtail Pho, Ondal in Garden Grove for Korean crab stew hot pot, Boiling Point in Irvine for Taiwanese flame pot, Taiko in Irvine for the sushi bar, Tasty Noodle House in Irvine for Chinese dishes, A&J Restaurant in Irvine for Taiwanese, Tasty Zone in Costa Mesa for spicy Szechuan, Shin Sen Gumi in Fountain Valley for ramen and yakitori, Paderia Bakehouse i Irvine for egg custards and cookies, Portos Bakery in Buena Park for tarts and chocolate mousse cake and Sunright Tea Studio at Diamond Jamboree for boba....OMG I am so hungry now! I have been looking for a new Thai place and will give Tuk Tuk a try tomorrow.
Taiko is best!
Thanks Pierce for your list! Did you try tuk tuk today?
@@YellowProductions no I did not, went to this great brunch place called Pandor at the marketplace, my first time and really liked it. Supposed to rain tomorrow and Tuk Tuk is on deck for doordash.
@@YellowProductions tried tuk tuk today, their drunken noodles were the best I've had in a while! Have you tried Thai Cafe on Jeffrey/walnut in Irvine? Its quite good too
Awesome. Yes. We used to frequent Thai Cafe a fair bit. Our other Irvine favorite is a new spot called Siam Station. They have a good Khao Soi
Have you tried Taco Adobe on Lemon St. In Old Towne Orange? It has been voted best Mexican hole in the wall. Great seafood tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. Everything is fresh, great sauces, oh so good!
Not yet. I'll have to check it out!
How can you leave out Tommy's Burgers from the burger list??? I used to go to the one off the 405 at the northeast corner of Magnolia and Warner in Fountain Valley.
I know it's kind of a cliche' but I like Sam Woo in Irvine for dim sum.
I also like the California Fish Grill in Irvine along with Karl Strauss in Costa Mesa.
Hank's West Pizza on Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach has some great Italian food.
You forgot to mention : Mr French Crepe a little gem inside Wholesome Choice shopping center in Irvine ! Check out their Yelp 5 stars! Savory and sweet crepes! But for sure I will try In-N-Out Burger next to UCI that you mentioned! Thank you
I'll have to check that out R F!
I'm surprised Tony's Little Italy in Placentia didn't make the cut for Chicago Style Pizza! I drive all the way to Placentia for deep dish pizza and I live in Newport Beach!
you need to try the burger stop in Santa Ana cmon can’t forget that one lol
Meat Up BBQ in Placentia for BBQ. 15-20 minutes away from Disney/Knott's. It's a great choice for a lunch break if you don't want to eat in the parks!
Also, Wild Taco in Newport Beach (there is also a location in Laguna Beach) is my favorite spot to eat in the area for fish tacos!
Thanks for the tips! I'll have to stop in wild taco sometime
So many places... so hungry seen this video! Where do you suggest for those who want a good salmon?
California Fish Grill is a pretty seafood spot
Yummy!! Also at 8:03 that’s a Mulita ☺️
Totally agree with best Mexican Baja Fish!!
Mmmm
Hey what about Los Sanchez in Garden Grove, THE BEST Mexican Food I have ever had!!!!!!
Taqueria De Anda is literally what I just ate for dinner. Got my vote
Sweet!
Hello Chris, yes I am commenting on a two year old video, but just want to suggest another great Mexican restaurant. You should try Esther's Taco House in Placentia off of Orangethorpe Ave. Been going there for years and everything they serve is great. I highly recommend it.
Thanks for the tip Dave!
Have you tried Kaiba Japanese Ramen, Sushi & Grill in Anaheim? Interested to hear how you think it stacks up against your ramen spots
Hey, great tips…
Subbed 🎉
Suggestion: San Juan Capistrano or Mission Viejo, Sol Agave. PLEASE TRY IT.
Welcome to Yellow Productions J! I'll add Sol Agave to my must try list 😉
I love going to the Baja Fish Tacos by South Coast. All the food, including the salsa bar are amazing. There’s also a good ice cream parlor in the same parking lot called Han’s that has a lot of flavors you wouldn’t expect.
As far as steakhouses go, a sleeper restaurant for good steaks is Vaca. They have an amazing dry aged steak, if you go with friends you can get a hefty 2lb steak to share and a paella of your choice.
I'll have to check out Vaca Tyler!
@@YellowProductions For a place that serves Spanish cuisine, those dry aged steaks are better than some of the steakhouses around OC lol. If you decide to explore the menu, some of my personal favorite standout items are the paellas, the hand carved 5J Jamón Ibérico, and sea urchin with scrambled eggs 👍🏻
Some of OC’s best IMO - Zankou Chicken in HB, Da Hawaiian Kitchen also in HB, Gibroni’s Detroit Pizza in San Clemente, Ramos House in SJC, Mokkoji Shabu Shabu in Irvine, Sabroso! Mexican Grill in Orange, El Paraiso in Lake Forest, Jon’s Fish Market in Dana Point :)
Thanks for the additions! I'll have to check some of those out. Particularly the Detroit pizza!
🌴🌴🌴 iconic OC food 🔥🔥🔥
Just recently moved into east Anaheim so this is well-timed for us.
Nice Sandra!
Try el pollo fino in anaheim. Best chicken and great Mexican restaurant
Chris, You must be by me. I live in Lake forest. I remember when Peter's was in a small gas station. Ohshine is about a mile from my home I haven't tried it
I'm in Irvine. So not far. And yes. I remember the Peter's gas station location too :)
Last week I went to a great Pho restaurant called Wok - In, its near the Orange County swap meet. An employee named Bruce can Remember every single customers name!!
Have you been to Oliboli donuts in Tustin? The BEST yeasted donuts I've had ANYWHERE.
I have! They are quite good when they are hot and fresh
You should try Cucina Alessa Italian restaurant in Newport Beach & Huntington Beach.
Thanks for the tip!
I love warm apple fritters. The place in San Juan Capistrano looked good.
Mmmm
Can't believe A Restaurant in Newport didn't make the list. That place blows Mastro's out of the water. This is a good list though.
Right next door to kitakata ramen in Irvine is the best bagel place you will ever have. They have a really good pizza bagel which is different, it has the pizza sauce on top. Make sure not to get bagel pizza though , had a friend make the mistake.
Any bagel there is good though!
Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. I'm regularly in that Plaza for Mitsuwa. I also like Oro Bae teas
Try Fuoco’s pizza in downtown Fullerton. Promise you won’t regret it. It is as good if not better than pizza from Napoli…no joke
Thanks for the tip Skyler!
You forgot Baja Sharkees in Newport Beach. Great lobster burritos. Taco Surf in Seal Beach is also good. My dad liked Walt’s Wharf in Seal Beach.
The only good Peking Duck is in Beijing.
Thanks for the extra tips. On the note of Peking Duck.. Quanjude, the famous Peking Duck restaurant in Beijing has one location in Vancouver Canada. It's legit!
Seafood Cove #2 is the Best Dim Sum in OC. :) Will try the ones on this list. Did not like Lunasia though.
Visit t on ice on harbor and first they have awesome boba hit tea and do much more I can not stress how good they are you'll love them I go several times a week
Can you do one with just fast food/drive thru I like Miguel Jr.
OC is a smorgasbord. The difference between that extended megalopolis and New York, San Francisco, New Orleans, etc, is that a lousy restaurant could survive in OC that would instantly die in those meccas. Low floor. The variety of ethnic food is unmatched and amazingly consistent. High ceiling
I like Gomen Ramen, Have you ever tried that one?
Not yet!
I would also include SmoKing Ribs in Garden Grove for one of the best American/Southern style BBQ!!
Thanks Dan! I'll definitely check that spot out!
Hmm interesting. My husband is vietnamese we like garlic and chives for "modern" vietnamese. Never tried little sister but will give it a go. I think we prefer vox over sup noodle house. Idk if you have ever tried it but I reccomend their garlic noodles are some of the best. Magi curry is pretty good compared to coco ichi and idk if you've ever had it for japanese bbq but i really love Shinobu it can be really exspensive though. For the best boba you should try omomo tea house. Always a big line for them because it's so good. Orobae and h and n tea is pretty good too.
Thanks for the tips. I tried to go to Magi Curry the other day but the wait list was huge. Will have to wait until the newness wears off 😉
I wish I could take time off just to try all of your recommendations!! I’ve only been to 8 of them on your list. I never get tired of In N out and BCD!! Las Brisas and crystal cove shake shack great views. I love Brodards spring rolls and cream pan!! Thanks for the other ideas. I’m especially looking forward to trying some of the Japanese and Indian restaurants!!
Mmm! With 66 restaurants at lunch and dinner it'll only take you a month to work thru the list :)
You forgot to mention mos burgers in Santa ana on grand and first str by the dwv bomb ass teriyaki chicken
Where should I eat if I am staying at Disneyland? Do you have a video of where to eat when staying on Disney property?
Not yet.. but that's a good idea!
You gotta go to burritos la palma, santa ana. Should be one of your top mexican options.
Thanks for the tip Evan! What do you like to order from Burritos la Palma?
@@YellowProductions there are only so many options, but the birria con todo burrito is very good. I also like a quesadilla with chicken tinga.
Mochi donuts and Korean style corn dog
You have to try fuoco in fullerton all ingredients straight from Italy
Tim Ho Wan is my favorite dim sum place. I’ve been to many dim sum restaurants from Monterey Park to Rowland Heights but Tim Ho Wan in Irvine is the best. Not sure why they do not get good reviews on Yelp.
You need to try dim sum from Seafood Cove 2
Quality italian pizza in Costa Mesa is Trentas . pitfire is pretty good to
I just got a SMALL cauliflower crust pizza at Pieology and it was $16!!
Ouch!
Seafood Cove #2 in Westminster is THE dim sum place! 4 stars on yelp, on Bolsa right in the heart of little Saigon.
My girlfriend was screaming at the TV at your dim sum choices 😂😂😂
also HiroNori!!!!! Best Ramen place in OC!! Right next to John Wayne Airport. My heart 😭😭😭
Pho 79 in Westminster is the parent of Pho 101, please let me show you Asian food 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Sebastian. . I've been to Seafood Cove.. but being in Westminster it's further for me than these other spots in Irvine. Thats why it's the list of my favorite restaurants :). Same with Pho 101.. easier for us to get too off the 405 than go in to the heart of Westminster. I've had Hironori a couple times.. really soft Chasu is really important to me, and I haven't found the Chasu at hironori to be all that great
@@YellowProductions I’m sorry that Hironori’a chasu is too tough for you! As somebody who goes there once a week it always melt in my mouth.
@@Broseb123 Maybe I got some bum chasu when I went :). Have you had Tsujita in LA? Now that's my favorite Chasu
Ive lived in OC for many years
U are missing Luigis (Italian)
And also Nguyens kitchen in santa ana which is incredible
Thanks for the additions!
Please do a list of where to go for people who have dogs.
Those appetizers at north italia are Squash Blossoms. Those are Males, the females have a very thin stem but have the same flower blossom.
That's it! Thanks Dan!
Add these to your list:
Ramen:
Hakata Ikkousha - Costa Mesa
Jinya - Tustin
Mogu Mogu Mazemen - Costa Mesa
Udon:
Meiji Saimen - Costa Mesa
Hot Dogs:
Pacific Coast Hot Dogs - Orange
Wursthaus - Santa Ana
Pho:
Monarch 9 Cafe - Yorba Linda
The Soup and Noodle - Orange
Burgers:
Hole In The Wall - Lake Forest/Costa Mesa
Sushi:
Sushi Teri - Costa Mesa
Mexican:
Super Pollo - Costa Mesa
Roman's Taqueria - Costa Mesa
Milkshake:
The Straw Modern Milkshake - Costa Mesa
Italian:
Antonucci's - Mission Viejo
Filomena's - Costa Mesa
Gumbo:
Ritter's Kettle Cooked - Santa Ana
That's enough for now. I could get out of hand
Thanks CJ for the additions! I may have to do some specialized lists like "Best Mexican in the OC" to get all the good spots in!
Orange County truly has the best food.
How did you miss North county restaurants? Fullerton, Brea, La Habra, Placentia, Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills?
Because I live in Irvine Erik. And as I said. I included restaurants on this list that I've personally eaten at. So I can honestly vouch for them
How come you didn’t mention any of the Arabian restaurants???? Never had Mediterranean food ??? It’s one of the best cuisines in the world. Shawarma , Kafta , falafel , Kabobs, hummus , baba ghanouj , shish tawook etc
Hi AT, I'm open to your suggestions in that area!
i think of OC i think of the band No Doubt or that Tv show or the movie
Jalapeños is my favorite Mexican restaurant
Mmm
Really good video!
Sad story:
Me age 8: “Mom I really like tongue! It’s my favorite.”
Mom: “Oh that’s great son!”
Me: “Mom, why do they call it tongue?”
Mom: “crickets”
This was the last time I ever had tongue. 😢
Din Tai Feng is a chain from Taipei specializing in soup dumplings in and around the Yangtze River Delta Region anchored on one end by Shanghai and the other by Nanjing which are considered Southern China. Ate at the first Din Tai Feng in Taipei before they had a chain. Lived in Beijing now for twenty years and have never heard of Chang An. At least they have never made it on to the perennial rankings of Peking Duck restaurants.
That makes 2 of us that have eaten at the original Din Tai Fung in Taipei :)
@@YellowProductions They became popular in the 80's and had to move their kitchen on to the sidewalks to accommodate for all the steam pots they had to use. Frankly, I've had better in Shanghai and, of all places, Okinawa Japan (a couple from Nanjing). The soupy part was introduced much later into these dumplings. Original ones had some soup but was naturally derived from the ingredients while being steamed. Now they put a condensed soup base into each one.
Gotta make the 45 min drive to OC and try some of these places out! ✨🧋🌮
Mmmm
Cortina orange rocky balboa sandwich!
Now using speech to text what I was trying to say was that tacos los cholos is fire I prefer it over Taqueria de anda although they are 24 hours in Fullerton so there is that
That 3rd item from Tacos Los Cholos looked like a 'Mulita'.
They open up another peters gourmet burgers in Fullerton.
This working thing is getting in the way of Live Yellow Productions.
Bummer!
Deemers Laguna Niguel! Best burgers 🍔
If you love deep dish pizza gotta look up Tony’s Little Italy in Placentia Ca.
Thanks for the tip!
Hole Mole (Tustin) for tacos, Original taco factory (Tustin) for wet burrito - green sauce), Sofra Urbana (fountain valley) for Bosnian food, their pizza is money too
Thanks for the additions Steven!
If you have the time could you do your favourite places to eat in just Aneheim
I'll add it to my idea list Quinn!
Thanks!
You are right , those waiting lines at Porto's are the downside.
Yo heritage is my uncle’s restaurant. Lmk if you are back in Cali anytime
Some good ones BUT add Naugles an original OC place and Cortina`s great Italian food and groceries
Thanks! And Cortinas is on the list at #16! :)
Still looking for a restaurant that makes a Boston 3 Way Roast Beef sandwich on onion roll & new Hot Dog places in or around Irvine Calif. in RUclips search type in Boston three-way roast beef sandwich and you’ll see what I mean! Beefy and tasty no where near like Arby’s
I have heard good things about KD;s donuts. Have you been there?
Not yet. Maybe I'll have to check it out
Double side quesadilla is called a mullita
Orange County is the BEST to live and eats 🍊
