    I heard lots of pharmacists are boycotting 'Locate a locus' because they are trying to reduce the rate per hour for pharmacists.

      Locate a Locum don’t have anything to do with the rates..! If they did, I would not be happy to use them ☺️

      It's true, locate a locum are using tactics to reduce rates

    Do not use locate a locum. They are the worst agency to use. They drive rates down. Instead contact the pdp for each area and negotiate. I have seen the same shifts on different agencys advertised at a higher rate. Some pharmacists work full time as locums so it is not fair if newly qualified or people that do not locum often accept the lower rates. In london average rate should be £35/hr, up north i know it is higher.

    I would suggest negotiating even if you are only there for the experience, because a lot of pharmacists locum for a living, so if you don't negotiate and allow the rate to fall other pharmacists will suffer.

      Okay! I don’t do enough shifts to be negotiating but I’ll do my best 👍🏼

    I was wondering if you still sell your KCL notes, I am struggling with the physical pharmaceutics, science of medicine module (year 1, having to re-sit the module for the year), so any resources or notes I could buy would be greatly appreciated. I love your honesty and the videos you make regarding Pharmacy; keeping me motivated. x

    Thanks for this video! Got to know about Locate a Locum through your video but the few shifts I have booked on there have been rejected/unsuccessful. Do you know why this might be happening?

      Hi Grace, have you completed your profile and all of the verification checks have gone through (DBS etc?) If so, then contact them on instagram as they're super good at responding!

    I'm not sure if it's just me but I'm struggling so much in passing the DMS and Repeat Dispensing CPPE courses 😔, failed the former by just 1 mark the other day, hopefully I'll pass it next time round. Just that nearly every agency is asking for certification of these documents. I guess it's because it's an essential service now, making it compulsory. I've got every certification apart from these two 😅Hopefully, I'll start working from Jan onwards.

      Some of them aren’t easy but you get the hang of them! I’m sure I’ve failed a few but got there in the end :)

      @KOREginA Pharmacist update, I've finally passed all the essential accreditations and I'm going to my first (locum) shift ever! I'm so scared, but I need to tell myself I can do it. Like you mentioned, we've passed our exams, we're capable

    Bruh , "doing the shift for the experience and not the money" is exactly why some companies can charge £20/Hr for emergencies.
    Boots use locate and don't negotiate, neither do they pay mileage/parking

      @KOREginAPharmacist  2 года назад

      Don’t worry I would never accept a shift less than £20!! But yes you have a point. Noted 👍🏼

    This is too much work for pre shift work, its not realistic to make all the checks, nobody will bother being a locum, however theoretically its good advice but its really not practical

    • @KOREginAPharmacist
      @KOREginAPharmacist  Год назад

      The pre-work is for people like me who only locum once in a while! If you’re already up and running and used to going to different pharmacies then it’s probably not necessary :)
