The GP Plus R V4 jacket features vented shoulders and extensive perforation zones on the chest and sides for maximum airflow. It utilizes Alpinestars composite stretch technology (A-CS® Plus) panels on the torso, offering exceptional breathability and flexibility while being lighter and lower profile than traditional leather accordion panels. The jacket is constructed from 1.3mm 'Race' grade leather for an optimal blend of abrasion resistance and comfort, with extensive technical stretch panels under the arms, on the inner arms, and around the neck.

Anybody else feel like leather jackets are losing more color with each generation? The GP Plus V1 & V2 had a lot more color on their red options
Check out the RideKnit version, that red inner sleeves is my personal favorite for a red jacket.
I love the Black/Red RideKnit version. Good colors.
Is this the standard v4 gp plus or the airflow...
The version in the video is the Airflow. The regular won’t have any of the perforated leather.
@@RevZilla that's what had me confused

are you going somewhere with it?
Revzilla really offers riders and manufacturers such a remarkable service with these product videos. Thank you from a long time customer.
Glad you like them!
The rideknit version of this jacket is the nicest and most comfortable leather jacket I have ever owned
if you guys review so called "tech air" compatible jackets, you should show them with tech air being worn because alpinestars greatly exaggerates how compatible tech air is. tech-air 7x fits in basically NOTHING unless you can size up twice and have giant long arms. Must be nice!
are yall gonna stock Goldtop jackets?
As a 215 pound 5’11” guy and still dropping weight I have this jacket in two sizes with the ride knit. I also always ride with a tech air 5. The size 58 I can almost not zip hopefully when I hit 200 pounds. The 60 (the biggest size) I can zip and it is tight but it is breaking in nicely. These jackets are definitely not designed for someone even slightly out of shape.
Good information, thank you.
I'm 220, 6' and wear a size 54 or 56. What is your chest measurement that you are up closer to 58 and 60? Comparing the two of us might be the best example of height / weight don't really tell the story like measurements.
@@patrickmchugh8039 my chest is not the problem. It’s the waist 🤣
can you upgrade the armour to Ce lvl2?
Yes, the Nucleon Flex Pro armor would work just fine in those pockets.
i just want to say.. i have the same belt as him lol
Sounds good but who manufactures the jacket again because it's really hard to tell?
Seriously, enough of this. I have no interest in being a rolling billboard for AS and their ridiculous full body logos.
is it same size like atem v5 or more like missile v2?
Same sizing for them, but a touch less aggressive in the fit than the Atem family. Very similar cut to the Missile though.
@@RevZillathanks, Atem v5 shoulder protection rubber is weak spot. And Missile v2 i had nr 60 and Atem 58 is same size
what does the r stand for?
Can u customize gear anyway we want ??
I actually bought this jacket, I found it to be the most comfortable of all the jackets I wore in the store, especially around the shoulders.
But mine has an additional inside liner for winter
There is a cold-weather version (which is sounds like you're describing) available outside of the US. The US got the Airflow and Rideknit versions and maybe the cold-weather option in the future.
What pants do you recommend for someone looking for a 2 piece suit?
We like the Missile v3 Pants for our riding, but any Astars leather race pants will zip into the GP Plus R v4 so you have options.
That jacket looks very uncomfortable
Not for a sport-bike race fit jacket. It's pretty comfortable and on par with the rest of the market. If you are looking for comfort, we would not recommend choosing a jacket that is the top half of a race suit. Sport / race jackets aren't design for all-day comfort, they are designed for performance in the full tuck.
Which season is this coat?
Summer riding is our recommendation.
That looks small and uncomfortable to me
Their sizing is hilarious. I usually wear large size shirts and jackets and I'm a XXL in Astars jacket sizing
@@brumfiba Same, but pretty sure that's because T-Shirts go off vanity sizing in the US and Astars has a more Euro fit to it and uses tailored measurements vs what shirts use. Lg or XL t-shirt and I typically run a 54 in Astars. 44 work suit though, and EU is usually US Suit size + 10 (44=54) which makes sense.
Way too expensive for my taste
Thanks for sharing that you have inexpensive taste
