@@whiteley-ke4gh "Greatest Song" is rather an opus than a song...take your time for that. Dead Boys Poem (as Tuomas isn't that boy anymore) is a real ballad, like Sleeping Sun. How's the Heart will be first played live at their virtual concert, yet the accoustic one with Troy on guitar and her only, is the one that gave me chills, Shoemaker has a killer finale, so Tuomas wife needed to fill in, probably to give Floor some time for her assault on the highest notes she ever hit with Nightwish. Last but not least "The Poet and the Pendulum" (live from Wembley), which made it onto my podium of all Nightwish songs maybe even filling the very top step. It seemed to correlate with my mood back then, when I needed to listen to it 20 times in a row after my first hearing!
Brought back? Yeah. Next level? Mmmm... no. Tarja was the first one I’ve heard, and all Floor did was come close to what she has done. I won’t say neither one is better than the other because they’re both good and have different styles. So I won’t go there saying Floor brought this band to a whole new level because I believe she has not done that. The entire band has to do just that, and Floor has helped.
My favourite - "Seven Days to the Wolves (Live at Wembley Arena)". It has everything you could ever want from a Nightwish performance and it always makes me happy.

think "Hell" and "Damn" might be the only words you'll hear in a Nightwish song that might qualify as a curse word. Tuomas's lyrical style is loftier than that. i bet if you piss him off, he's capable of making your ears burn, but, you won't hear it in his music.

Great to hear more from Sarah (no disrespect Tom😉) - she's got an eye for detail. Over the years I hadn't really been interested in lyrics and their meaning - but with Nightwish I think it's very desirable - you go into a song fully prepared and it has more of an emotional effect on you, ( so many people are in tears as a result - especially to Poet and the Pendulum)! If you're going to double up with The Greatest Show on Earth - even more so, especially at the end - very overwhelming! Looking forward to it.

Songs about the stars, the moon and evolution. The beauty of nature and the joy of discovering and learning about it. So it should come as no surprise they're loved in the science world.

Hey Tom, during this song you will notice that Emppu walks behind Floor and she spins a bit and says something to him and he grins. What happened is Emppu reached behind Floor and unplugged her in ears that the band has in there ears for cue marks and the such. She has to plug her in ears back on while continuing on without missing a single beat. Its that comradery is what makes this group so good. Slightly different lyrics, sure, it is the demo after all... But, mostly the same! What a great way to showcase his amazing vocal skills!

Great to hear more from Sarah (no disrespect Tom😉) - she's got an eye for detail. Over the years I hadn't really been interested in lyrics and their meaning - but with Nightwish I think it's very desirable - you go into a song fully prepared and it has more of an emotional effect on you, ( so many people are in tears as a result - especially to Poet and the Pendulum)! If you're going to double up with The Greatest Show on Earth - even more so, especially at the end - very overwhelming! Looking forward to it.

So your wife's name is... Sarah Tuffnuts? lol. Nightwish has done a lot of songs based on fantasy and literature. But, there's more. They also made a lot of science based songs. Songs about the stars, the moon and evolution. The beauty of nature and the joy of discovering and learning about it. So it should come as no surprise they're loved in the science world.
PLEASE have Sarah with you when you check out Marco singing The Islander! PLEASE!!!! I would love to see what she thinks of that one.

Hey Tom, during this song you will notice that Emppu walks behind Floor and she spins a bit and says something to him and he grins. What happened is Emppu reached behind Floor and unplugged her in ears that the band has in there ears for cue marks and the such. She has to plug her in ears back on while continuing on without missing a single beat. Its that comradery is what makes this group so good. They trully are good good friends and enjoy each other company. There having tons of fun on stage each night. Family. Enjoy, stay safe and always have fun. Cya
