Why U.S States Have Nothing In Common

- The United States is, in many ways, a patchwork of 50 distinctly different states (not to mention Washington DC and several territories). Meaning that regional similarities in the U.S. can be significant, while states like California and West Virginia couldn't be more different. However, even neighboring states with heavy similarities like Kansas and Missouri, have far more in contrast than in common.

Thank you for watching my video on "How U.S States Are Soo Different". If there is a city, state, or region that you would like to see in a future video, please let me know here in the comments sections.
Thank you for not repeating the same facts like other videos on RUclips. I subscribed!
I've lived in 5 states across the country and to say they have NOTHING in common is like saying you have nothing in common with your brothers and sisters. Just ludicrous on it's face.
I don't think this video actually made any kind of point. All it did was restate obvious stuff, make broad generalizations, and barely touched on the point of the title.
also the directions and map from nyc to denver were questionable
I'm sorry to hear that @johnd, this video was really meant to just give an overview of how different U.S states are.
@@chasemfrancisYep, I-80 west through NE to I-76 is a much better and quicker route.
That is why I call it clickbait.
They have a lot in common, they’re all under the federal government control, the majority of people speak English, the majority people are American citizens, the majority people, drive a car to work, use the USD, etc and there’s way more. It’s true we have a lot of regional diversity, but that doesn’t make two different states 100% different.
Agree…….saying the US states have nothing in common, is like comparing Antarctica to the Amazon Rainforest !!!!!!!!
"District of Washington"? No such place.
This video feels like it was made by AI
It's the fill in Wrestlamia guy!!!!!
Thanks for the ocelot mention. But when are you going to touch on the "why" aspect you promised in the title?
I did, it's because each state is isn't own entity; cutting the importance of proximity as each state (and DC) are in it for themselves. I will do a much deeper dive in the future and look at how state debt (and how debt works at the state level) plays a key role in the stratification. There are other reasons, and political gain and the corruption I touch on in this video are part of it to.
The map at ruclips.net/video/s_rCltoJyuE/видео.html looks accurate, except the odd appendage over the mountains into the Albuquerque area (arid desert, basin and range but not great plains), and misses the Nebraska sand hills (great plains, not prairie to the east). But the rest including maps makes great points on how different factors produce what we see in the vast US, starting at the inequality map at 2:22.
Thank you DesertDC, I recently started working with new animation software so that I can have more control over my maps (because I love maps), but it's a process of learning still.
That's not true. US states have common language for example.
A few hundred years of history and the drawing of a few lines. Think China: sixty countries in ONE. Or even Canada!!
That's a Serval cat, there related to Leopards.
Actually an ocelot. Servals have a more even color and pointier ears. Perfect that it is running next to a fence since the wall with Mexico is affecting the ocelot population more than immigrants.
interesting video.
From WC, if you think we are poor and not developing, you need to come to the Tri-Cities of NE Tennessee, I don’t know what happened but growth is crazy and my house is now worth 5 times what I paid for it! Where did all these people with all this money to buy homes come from?!
running out of ideas
Pretty sure Wichita has more pop than Topeka, you just took the wrong route across Kansas for anything scenic
Exactly, Kansas City is a big city and has a big city feel. It is as different from those smaller cities as anyplace else in the country.
It said on that specific route
All I gotta say is that there's no region in the nation like the Pacific Northwest. snow-capped mountains views, lush greenery, lakes, rivers and of course the almighty Pacific Ocean.
Im not American and I dont see difference between Tennessee, South Dakota and Montana
Tennessee is very different from South Dakota and Montana geographically.
Those are bad examples lmao. Those 3 are insanely different.
@@Anahi1991 South Dakota and Montana are relatively similar for the most part, however, neither state is similar to Tennessee.
So sad that the only thing that I hear about my state is that we're sticking to the bare minimum wage. Woohoo! Indiana!
WE DO HSBE INE THING IN COMMON! WE’RE AMERICAN 🇺🇸 RAAAAAHHHHHH 🦅🦅🦅💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🥇🇺🇸🔛🔝
100%, in fact recent polls show American's look at ourselves at the national level first (not based on specific states), more so than ever before. However the states are still a massive patchwork that can make life complicated.
