This is such a special deck for me. The memories that came up as I was going through this deck were a combination of joy and a nostalgia that literally brought me to tears.
I have incredible experiences in Memphis. Sun Studio. Go. Just go. New Orleans was the first place I ever got a tarot reading. In Jackson Square in the shadow of the Cathedral. I spent many beautiful days in Nashville. Before the boom when you could go to Layla's and see an amazing act in the afternoon for free. The music mentioned brings me back to playing fiddle in a band in the office of a pole barn. The pole barn my good friend makes lap steel guitars in for very famous people. Three of us would play together for hours in Southern Illinois. The lead singer and I in that trio would chain smoke hand rolled pipe tobacco cigarettes, drink strong coffee, and write songs together. My first time seeing a concert at Mother Church, The Rhyman , and getting to walk across the stage? Unforgettable. Then here in Arizona, I had the honor and privilege of playing in a band with an old friend. During covid times, we'd get together (our families were safe bubbles) bring our axes, and record covers of songs by The Kinks, The Beatles, Niel Young, Steve Miller Band, and others. Between the two of us, we could layer guitars, bass, harmonica, drums, violin, and vocals. These memories of playing music with dear friends touches my soul and this deck brought them back in the most beautiful of ways. Because, of course, music touches your soul.
