Aside from their gorgeous singing, I really like the 'date' story Eli added in. Cried over the disappearance of Cesar as Ashley shared her drink. I knew Ashley could sing beautifully, but did not know she could act so well. Her face at the point of disappearance broke me. Of course, we already knew Cesar could rip out your heart and make you cry. He's done it several times to us.
And from what was said in the Behind The Scenes, Ashley and Cesar both heard this song often enough in Puerto Rico as it was a popular song there in Spanish as a duet. I believe it being a duet inspired the 'date' concept.
Back in 1983, I got to manage a video arcade when the owner wanted to go to Europe and spend a year with her boyfriend. Managing a video arcade is fun - got to go to the convention to get new machines - Mazer Blazer and Dragon's Lair. I suspect it was more than a date. Love both Cesar and Ashley. Eli is the Rock tenor.
The bald tenor's name is Eli (pronounced like jelly.) The story in the video is basically Cesar and Ashley playing the roles of a couple--in real life they're good friends--remembering happier times before they lost each other. The Spanish lyrics are an homage to a translated version that's popular in Puerto Rico. As for the song's origins in reality, Bonnie Tyler released the original, famously trippy and surreal video in the 80s. It was apparently related to a show about vampires, though I don't think the show is as well-known as the song (I'm an old fogey and was around in those days, but only learned about it recently.)
