- The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge
by Hildegarde H. Swift and Lynd Ward
This is the classic 1973 pressing of this beloved children's book, complete with original audio (record) featuring narration by Glenn Kezer and music by Albert Hague. Though a work of fiction, the story is based on actual New York landmarks, the Jeffrey's Hook Lighthouse and the George Washington Bridge.
This video is intended for educational purposes. Recommended age group 4-8 years. Read along with words on-screen. A great story and a wonderful tool for visual learning.
The original video found at: • The Little Red Lightho...

I had both the book and the record as a kid. And my young son enjoys hearing this story again and again. Thanks for posting! 🚨
i remember this 1977 1978 i was 3 - 4 years old
Loved this reading, although the grammatical errors jumped out at me; sometimes "its" and sometimes "it's" ("its" is correct). I wonder if it is that way in the book or just in the video.
It’s in the original video, part of the book. I cleaned up the video image and de-noised the audio as best I could. If I get time someday I will correct the text. Thx for letting me know. I lived within walking distance from the lighthouse, but it was a very degraded park in the late 60’s and 70’s. I imagine it’s much safer now.
Very good history of the lighthouse’s origins. www.hudsonriverlighthouses.org/jeffreys-hook.html
