This reaction just showed up on my RUclips page. I have been following this young woman for about 8 years now, and I always enjoy seeing first reactions, and following a new "Angels" journey. Angelina refers to her fans as Angels. I enjoyed your reaction very much, and then went back and found your first one, and watched and liked it also. I am subscribing, and I look forward to many more of these reactions, as hers are the only ones I watch. You will soon learn that there is no one that Angelina is afraid to cover, and no genre that she can't sing. Jazz, Blues, Country, Rock, EDM and in one of her newest originals titled "Diamond", she even does a few lines of what some have called Rap. She does Adele, better than Adele, in my opinion. Frank, Elvis, James Brown, Amy Winehouse, Tom Jones, she covers them all, or as one Angel stated, "Angelina doesn't cover songs, she uncovers them." I'm nearing 70 years old and Angelina, in my opinion, sings with more feeling and emotion than anyone I have ever heard. I find myself constantly wiping my leaking eyes. It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock-rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne-type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). Buddy, do not stress yourself about whatever order you check her out. You will not find anything that is not phenomenal. Should just go with your own taste and your preference for that day. Bohemian Rhapsody was praised by the band queen themselves and they removed copyright for her. Angelina does another queen song The Show Must Go On, I believe this one is even better. Also I Am Still Holding Out For You, at age 10, which was being done as a demo for Baby Fuzz. Her mother did not want her to release it as there is references in it the her mother did not think appropriate for a 10 year old. Her family, rightfully, protected her so she would not be swallowed up by the recording companies. She ended up signing with Republic Records when her family thought it appropriate enough. The deal she made with them was that she had total control over what she sung, when she sung it, when she releases it. I do not think that even Taylor Swift could wrangle a deal like that from them.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Good morning I listened to a bunch of her music this morning and yeah, she’s really good but she needs to do her own stuff so she can stand out right now. She’s just a copycat and it sounds like her voice is getting really raspy the older she gets, but she’s beautiful and she has a great voice.!!
If you go strictly sequential, you'll never catch up. But if you go one or two songs per year of age to see the progression, that may work for you. From personal experience, I found it doesn't matter in terms of quality. Some may think that once they've seen her newer songs they won't want to go back. If she keeps improving, why go back to lesser performances. With Angelina that is not the case. There is a different feeling to her earlier work, but it is just as (and in some cases even more) awesome. For example, she has performed Bohemian Rhapsody several times, but in my opinion, she has never improved on her AGT performance. Then again, with Unchained Melody, she keeps reaching new heights. At age 10 she never missed amazing me. The same when she was 12. Pick any age and you'll be amazed.

She just had her Las Vegas debut at the Westgate (where Elvis performed), she opened for Norah Jones at age 11, Quincy Jones at 12 for his 85th birthday concert in London and many others have had her perform. QJ said she reminded him of Michael Jackson at that age. Her parents were very careful to limit her performing so she could finish school (early, of course) and she is the youngest published author in Norway. Does she seem to be too good to be true? She is true. I met her in Vegas and she is amazingly humble and sweet. Enjoy watching her.

I thought it was mentioned by one of us Angels in your last reaction, the reason. Why she does not wear shoes when singing is because when she was living in the Middle east when she was 6 , she met a homeless girl about her age with no shoes and cuts on her foot on a cold and wet day who was weighing people with a bathroom scale for $ to support her siblings. Angelina started talking to her and ended up taking her own favorite boots off and gave it to the girl. From then she vowed not to wear shoes on stage until children poverty is addressed. ❤❤❤❤

Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the vocal arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version and communicated to the band how she wanted it to be played - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with some of the same band members at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and communicates to them what she wants to do. The first thing she says is that she wants to start, followed by her saying she wants to start over, later she tells the pianist that the key is too low and that she wants to raise it a half-tone, then at the end of the song she changes the ending on the fly. An old soul in a young body - many reactors have said the same. Eventually check out one of her new tracks, "Now I'm the Fool" or "Love Don't Let Me Go" and compare. My wife said she sounds like a cross between Adele and Amy Winehouse. She has a long, bright future ahead for sure.
Music is all about how it makes you feel. Angelina said music found her by the time she was 18 months. She feels the emotions of each song and creates her own arrangements to convey the emotions she feels. Angelina is my all time favorite singer storyteller and is the only one to make me cry. The only things which exceed her musical talents are her humility and empathy.

Angelina had barely turned 9 in the video and that’s still not the beginning. Her public debut was her audition on Norway’s Got Talent at age 7. It was recorded in late 2013 but aired in early 2014. If you want to see a progression then i recommend that you hold off on the 10 Years In The Making Video for now. Although it has a few early clips it’s primarily a behind the scenes of her recent Las Vegas concerts. Once you get to really know Angelina the documentary will be more meaningful. You mentioned her bare feet. I’m sure a fan or two has mentioned or will fill you in on the story as to why she always performs barefoot. And it’s not to be grounded.

I have watched and listened to her in awe since she released her first video on RUclips, and what has been evident to me from the start is that she sings with total conviction, despite the fact that she is far too young to have experienced the events suggested in the lyrics of the song she has chosen to sing. But it is not only that, for strange as it may seem is the even more remarkable fact that she can convey the appropriate emotions within those lyrics to her listener. This is Angelina's tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956 (50 years before Angelina was born). She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original. There are many things I found particularly worthy of note in this video. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. Another Angelina "Angel" has pointed out something else which I had missed, and it is added at (l) below, (a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled. (b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers. (c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it. (d) The smile on the face of the Bass player. (e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine" (f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand. Possibly to remind herself of the last minute changes she wanted. (g) Her unwavering passion throughout the performance. Evidenced by her facial expressions and the way she uses her hands and body to emphasise the direction of the song. (h) The way she takes a breath just before she starts the last phrase (I don't care.....) and that breath lasts the whole of that sustained note. A child of that age should not have the ability to hold a note for that length of time. (i) At the end, when she sings I Doooont Caaaaare, she employs TWO separate and distinct vibratos to the word care, a wide one to start the word and a tighter one to close the word (j) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody. (k) Perhaps the most remarkable is that despite her tender years, she sings with such total conviction that her authenticity is never in doubt. It is easy to believe that she has experienced the events described in the lyrics. It is not only her voice that is mesmerising, it is also her facial expressions, and the way she uses her hands and body. Her stage presence is electrifying. (l) The performance absolutely is powerful and raw but to me, I am amazed that this is balanced by the profound beauty of the ending phrase; the last twelve words of the song. AND… they are essentially sung a cappella! Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.

She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond. Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. The 8-12 year old era of Angelina is still my favorite. It’s just magical to see her bring to life so many great songs and sing them like she lived them. Many have given you suggestions. Probably the next most requested song would be Bohemian Rhapsody. Her performance on AGT in January 2020 at 13 years old was her introduction to the US audience and the first time I heard her. I immediately looked her up on RUclips and got lost down the rabbit hole. Some of my very favorite recordings she made were from the summer she was 12 after moving to LA. Her family hired a young man that played guitar, Ivan Mendez, to come to their house once a week to work up songs and accompany her. The songs were never decided ahead of time. They’d discuss what songs she would like to sing. He’d work up the guitar part, they might run thru it a few times and then record. Both made little mistakes here and there but it was just so authentic and magical. On her channel. Check those out. I could literally recommend 50 or more songs easily. Fans have been awaiting an album for a few years now. She released an EP last year that is very good.

It's essential to know Jay Hawkin's original to properly appreciate this. Nina Simone did the mother of all covers for this song - she did a toothless, effeminate version that's nice to listen to, but left out all the craziness, desperation and shock value, and unfortunately most - if not all - of those did a cover (and there are many) have followed her path instead of Jay's. And CCR's rendition is the sweetest, softest, gentlest version of them all (not that I didn't like it, but still...). It should be shock rock! From this point of view, this nine-year-old is closest to the original than any other (IMHO of course). When questioned, she replied in an interview (some people think that just because she is a child she doesn't understand what she is singing) "it's about unanswered, desperate love - it's almost voodoo". Angelina is about half a year younger in this video than in the "Fly me to the moon" music video you have already seen. As for the plan to see progress - that could be difficult. Of course, purely because of the physics of our bodies, things change as we get older. At 18, Angelina now has more strength at her disposal than before, but she doesn't need it often. However, when it comes to vocal technique, to the whole toolbox of a jazz singer -- that has always been there (perhaps with the exception of "Gloomy Sunday") and vocal coaches can barely stop to marvel about it. What you can see over the years is how she refines and adds to it more and more. Much more interesting is her versatility and creativity - you can see the title of the song she covers, but you never know what you will get, it's always a surprise and it's usually on par with the original. And she doesn't bother with little things, she takes on the GOAT's, and not just any of their songs, but the biggest of their hits. No fear, never. There are things she did better at 10 or 12 than at 16/17 and vice versa. So you're lucky that the boat you missed docks every now and then to give people like you the opportunity to come along ;-) I'm sure you'll enjoy the whole cruise. And by the way - NO ONE among the YT reactors is able to react to everything, because we've now reached almost 600 videos - so I wish you good luck choosing.
I think catching a song (at least one) from each year (7, 8, 9, 10, etc) is worth the effort but if you just go through her playlist from very young to. lets say 16 you will be here for a long time as she has covered at least 150 songs not including originals. This reaction just showed up on my RUclips page. I have been following this young woman for about 8 years now, and I always enjoy seeing first reactions, and following a new "Angels" journey. Angelina refers to her fans as Angels. I enjoyed your reaction very much, and then went back and found your first one, and watched and liked it also. I am subscribing, and I look forward to many more of these reactions, as hers are the only ones I watch. You will soon learn that there is no one that Angelina is afraid to cover, and no genre that she can't sing. Jazz, Blues, Country, Rock, EDM and in one of her newest originals titled "Diamond", she even does a few lines of what some have called Rap. She does Adele, better than Adele, in my opinion. Frank, Elvis, James Brown, Amy Winehouse, Tom Jones, she covers them all, or as one Angel stated, "Angelina doesn't cover songs, she uncovers them." I'm nearing 70 years old and Angelina, in my opinion, sings with more feeling and emotion than anyone I have ever heard. I find myself constantly wiping my leaking eyes. She also interprets songs that I have 'heard' since I was young, so that I now actually hear the words. You will be getting flooded by her Angels with requests. I look forward to your journey. 🙏

It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this!
"I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock-rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne-type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video).
You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). Buddy, do not stress yourself about whatever order you check her out. You will not find anything that is not phenomenal. Should just go with your own taste and your preference for that day. And you will not be disappointed. So far, no one‘s been able to fully describe how phenomenal the kid is. Buckle up. You’re in for a ride brother.

Bohemian Rhapsody was praised by the band queen themselves and they removed copyright for her. Angelina does another queen song The Show Must Go On, I believe this one is even better. Also I Am Still Holding Out For You, at age 10, which was being done as a demo for Baby Fuzz. Her mother did not want her to release it as there is references in it the her mother did not think appropriate for a 10 year old. Her family, rightfully, protected her so she would not be swallowed up by the recording companies. She ended up signing with Republic Records when her family thought it appropriate enough. The deal she made with them was that she had total control over what she sung, when she sung it, when she releases it. I do not think that even Taylor Swift could wrangle a deal like that from them.

Why Angelina always performs barefoot
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are.
Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Good morning I listened to a bunch of her music this morning and yeah, she’s really good but she needs to do her own stuff so she can stand out right now. She’s just a copycat and it sounds like her voice is getting really raspy the older she gets, but she’s beautiful and she has a great voice.!!
If you go strictly sequential, you'll never catch up. But if you go one or two songs per year of age to see the progression, that may work for you. From personal experience, I found it doesn't matter in terms of quality. Some may think that once they've seen her newer songs they won't want to go back. If she keeps improving, why go back to lesser performances. With Angelina that is not the case. There is a different feeling to her earlier work, but it is just as (and in some cases even more) awesome. For example, she has performed Bohemian Rhapsody several times, but in my opinion, she has never improved on her AGT performance. Then again, with Unchained Melody, she keeps reaching new heights. At age 10 she never missed amazing me. The same when she was 12. Pick any age and you'll be amazed.
As you could see in the beginning she wrote notes to the band... She is the boss here. :) And as she has been singing since the age of 1.5 years - there is no words needed.

She just had her Las Vegas debut at the Westgate (where Elvis performed), she opened for Norah Jones at age 11, Quincy Jones at 12 for his 85th birthday concert in London and many others have had her perform. QJ said she reminded him of Michael Jackson at that age. Her parents were very careful to limit her performing so she could finish school (early, of course) and she is the youngest published author in Norway. Does she seem to be too good to be true? She is true. I met her in Vegas and she is amazingly humble and sweet. Enjoy watching her.

Why she does not wear shoes when singing is because when she was living in the Middle east when she was 6 , she met a homeless girl about her age with no shoes and cuts on her foot on a cold and wet day who was weighing people with a bathroom scale for $ to support her siblings. In 2014, a little Norwegian girl was named and codified, a national treasure by both the King of Norway and the prime Minister. That same year, she sang for the Nobel peace prize winners all at the age of 8.
In 2023, that same girl, now almost 18 once again graced the Nobel peace prize stage and sang for the recipient once again.
That young girl is none other than Angelina Jordan.

You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with some of the same band members at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and communicates to them what she wants to do. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!

Angelina had barely turned 9 in the video and that’s still not the beginning. Her public debut was her audition on Norway’s Got Talent at age 7. It was recorded in late 2013 but aired in early 2014.
If you want to see a progression then i recommend that you hold off on the 10 Years In The Making Video for now. Although it has a few early clips it’s primarily a behind the scenes of her recent Las Vegas concerts. Once you get to really know Angelina the documentary will be more meaningful.
You mentioned her bare feet. I’m sure a fan or two has mentioned or will fill you in on the story as to why she always performs barefoot. And it’s not to be grounded.

Thank you for featuring Angelina again. I hope you will continue to do many more reactions to her, as she is well worth every nanosecond you spend on her. I have watched and listened to her in awe since she released her first video on RUclips, and what has been evident to me from the start is that she sings with total conviction, despite the fact that she is far too young to have experienced the events suggested in the lyrics of the song she has chosen to sing. But it is not only that, for strange as it may seem is the even more remarkable fact that she can convey the appropriate emotions within those lyrics to her listener.
This is Angelina's tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956 (50 years before Angelina was born). She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original.
There are many things I found particularly worthy of note in this video. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. Another Angelina "Angel" has pointed out something else which I had missed, and it is added at (l) below,
(a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled.
(b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers.
(c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it.
(d) The smile on the face of the Bass player.
(e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine"
(f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand. Possibly to remind herself of the last minute changes she wanted.
(g) Her unwavering passion throughout the performance. Evidenced by her facial expressions and the way she uses her hands and body to emphasise the direction of the song.
(h) The way she takes a breath just before she starts the last phrase (I don't care.....) and that breath lasts the whole of that sustained note. A child of that age should not have the ability to hold a note for that length of time.
(i) At the end, when she sings I Doooont Caaaaare, she employs TWO separate and distinct vibratos to the word care, a wide one to start the word and a tighter one to close the word
(j) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody.
(k) Perhaps the most remarkable is that despite her tender years, she sings with such total conviction that her authenticity is never in doubt. It is easy to believe that she has experienced the events described in the lyrics. It is not only her voice that is mesmerising, it is also her facial expressions, and the way she uses her hands and body. Her stage presence is electrifying.
(l) The performance absolutely is powerful and raw but to me, I am amazed that this is balanced by the profound beauty of the ending phrase; the last twelve words of the song. AND… they are essentially sung a cappella!
Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

You seemed familiar with Screamin Jay and also many of the popular covers of the song. How many adults knew about him. Now how many 9 yr old girls would know about him or any other of her classics. I think Angelina now stands with the legends who inspired her and this historic performance will surely go down in music history as the best rendition of this by a 9 yr old girl.
Yes do the Norway's Got Talent performances next. Do each separately and look for subtitles as they are speaking Norwegian. After that, be sure to do 'What a Difference a Day Makes' at 8 yrs old right after winning. Follow this with another rendition of 'Fly Me to the Moon' on The View which she did right after this on her first appearance in the USA. After that follow the suggestions of the best in progression and perhaps do them by year. Then work your way up to today. She will amaze you at every age. The 8-12 year old era of Angelina is still my favorite. It’s just magical to see her bring to life so many great songs and sing them like she lived them. Many have given you suggestions. Probably the next most requested song would be Bohemian Rhapsody. Her performance on AGT in January 2020 at 13 years old was her introduction to the US audience and the first time I heard her. I immediately looked her up on RUclips and got lost down the rabbit hole. Some of my very favorite recordings she made were from the summer she was 12 after moving to LA. Her family hired a young man that played guitar, Ivan Mendez, to come to their house once a week to work up songs and accompany her. The songs were never decided ahead of time. They’d discuss what songs she would like to sing. He’d work up the guitar part, they might run thru it a few times and then record. Both made little mistakes here and there but it was just so authentic and magical. On her channel. Check those out. I could literally recommend 50 or more songs easily. Fans have been awaiting an album for a few years now. She released an EP last year that is very good.

Yeah, don't skip ahead too much, IMO. I won't ruin anything but the contrast over the years is amazing to watch. When she gets 10 and 11 there's a whole new AJ, then again at 13-14, and again now. If you're going to watch more than 3 or 4 I say take your time and explore some of the many amazing performances at these wee ages first. Even if you quit after that it'll be fine.

At the beginning you see her something writing on a sheet and a man reading it and smiles than.. in an interview this man, who was the "bandleader", said, this were some "wishes" from Angelina (she was every time very polite he said) for changes of her arrangement for the piano 😃
The candle you can see at about 0:12 shows a portrait of J. Hawkins - I think her grandma bought it at a concert in Tokyo ;)
At 0:26 you can see the bassist smiling - I can imagine that he smiles about the expectable reactions of the listeners in the moment, when Angelina starts to sing at 0:30 😏
Btw. I read somewhere that her grandma was in person at a concert of SJH in Japan (as she, AJs mother and uncle lived there some years - AJs grandpa is Japanese) and there AJs grandma bought this candle as a souvenir ;)

You will make a lot of her fans happy, if you watch her NGT performances next. It's essential to know Jay Hawkin's original to properly appreciate this. Nina Simone did the mother of all covers for this song - she did a toothless, effeminate version that's nice to listen to, but left out all the craziness, desperation and shock value, and unfortunately most - if not all - of those did a cover (and there are many) have followed her path instead of Jay's. And CCR's rendition is the sweetest, softest, gentlest version of them all (not that I didn't like it, but still...). It should be shock rock!
From this point of view, this nine-year-old is closest to the original than any other (IMHO of course). When questioned, she replied in an interview (some people think that just because she is a child she doesn't understand what she is singing) "it's about unanswered, desperate love - it's almost voodoo".
Angelina is about half a year younger in this video than in the "Fly me to the moon" music video you have already seen.
As for the plan to see progress - that could be difficult. Of course, purely because of the physics of our bodies, things change as we get older. At 18, Angelina now has more strength at her disposal than before, but she doesn't need it often.
However, when it comes to vocal technique, to the whole toolbox of a jazz singer -- that has always been there (perhaps with the exception of "Gloomy Sunday") and vocal coaches can barely stop to marvel about it. What you can see over the years is how she refines and adds to it more and more.
Much more interesting is her versatility and creativity - you can see the title of the song she covers, but you never know what you will get, it's always a surprise and it's usually on par with the original. And she doesn't bother with little things, she takes on the GOAT's, and not just any of their songs, but the biggest of their hits. No fear, never.
There are things she did better at 10 or 12 than at 16/17 and vice versa.
So you're lucky that the boat you missed docks every now and then to give people like you the opportunity to come along ;-) I'm sure you'll enjoy the whole cruise.
And by the way - NO ONE among the YT reactors is able to react to everything, because we've now reached almost 600 videos - so I wish you good luck choosing.
I think catching a song (at least one) from each year (7, 8, 9, 10, etc) is worth the effort but if you just go through her playlist from very young to. lets say 16 you will be here for a long time as she has covered at least 150 songs not including originals. So great to see a new reactor discover the almighty once-in-a-lifetime performer in Angelina. What do choose next if a tough one with 200 stunning video's to watch? One of my favourites is her self penned Studio version of a tribute to her grandfather " A Million Miles " , as an 18 year old she has lived way beyond the hype and stands miles ahead of any other singer out there!
