I think the main reason chaos return has cut the 2nd return and bazoo/sorc they were running is that the deck is mostly focusing on being an aggro deck. I was playing the dingo worlds list for a while and i was really impressed with the monster line up being able to grind out a lot of games. I didn’t win that many games with return compared to just beating down with spy’s and angels. Cutting the returns for more live cards makes a lot of sense
I'm actually working on my own variant of Earth Aggro with Final Attack Orders and Gaia Power. The idea is it makes everything so big that my opponent has to use up all their resources and it makes Spy useless because she's either in Atk mode or I just smash over her. I'm also main decking Blindly Loyal Goblin because he completely shuts down all control strategies.
7 min into the video and I have a question ACP: is it possible aggro players are over-theorizing with maining gk spy and mof? I'm not sure if I'm too old school, but I still think making NOC completely dead (2/40 cards; 5%) is better than getting them to noc a spy just to get rid of their spy's. Not to mention, that is an ideal scenario, compared with the non-ideal scenario of topdecking spy or mof late in a simplified game state, and allowing their NOC that was dead for the entire game to become live. Decks like this like simplifying the game, and I feel like topdecking a blade knight or gigantes is better than topdecking a mof for those decks.
Spy is just such a ridiculously good card that I can't really argue that it's ever WRONG to play it. Also, realize that making a card dead 99% of the time is only a marginal improvement over it being dead 90% of the time. I wouldn't play Faith, though.
It's great on offense and defense. It can either wall aggro OR pressure your opponent, which is more than other monsters can say. Attacks for 2400 and kills 2 goat tokens each battle phase at the cost of only one card. It's incredibly flexible and solid in every matchup. I actually plan to make a video on Spy that goes into more detail.
@@GoatDuels When your chaos opponent goes first and does the normal BS (trinity piece, thunder dragon, etc.) and you don't have an answer to their flip, the one you would hope it would be is spy (as opposed to mof or deko). All the other flips give them too much advantage and spiral the game out of control. Spy is also bad in multiples (unlike mof/deko and even night assailant which i hate). The more goat i play, the more i realize that spy is one of those cards that is significantly better against worse players, which is why i don't have an interest in playing it atm. Also, one of the things that spy is good for is tribute summoning, where most players who main spy don't really play tributes (outside of like, thunder dragon or something). Just because you can't make a card reach its full potential doesn't mean you shouldn't play it (like charity is better in turbo than warriors but warriors should still play it), but I just don't see the obsession with spy. Looking forward to your video about it though
@@dfag2311 Spy is incredibly strong vs Warriors which is arguably the best deck at the moment. It's great value for 1 card that usually requires your opponent to commit to something in order to remove (how are you going to remove a defense position Spy?). Just putting them in attack and applying pressure is also incredibly useful.
I'm curious why Jar of Greed is played so much more often than Time Seal since they seem like very similar effects with each one having its own marginal plusses.

@@GoatDuels What is so special about spy? I'm starting to think its one of the more overrated cards in goat format.

its more important to advance your game state than retard your opponents.
Jar of greed is better when you’re losing
Love the earth aggro with just enough earths for gigantes
Triple dustshoot in main????? This man was playing on absolute DEMON time. How common is that? I haven't played competitive goat, only fun matches.
very common, 2-3 is the norm
God damn EVERYONE on demon time haha time to get a couple more for my side.
