      How did you find the transition from soil to pon long term? Did you end up having issues with rot?

    Zeolites absorb lots of water, have a reasonable cation exchange capacity (although pumice is the more important ingredient in that respect), but primarily Zeolites are there to buffer the PH of your nutrient solution to keep it in a healthy slightly acidic/neutral range that plants absorb nutrients best at. That being said, aquarium zeolites are probably not appropriate for PON mixture, I am not sure why they have these properties, but they do not seem to buffer the nutrient solution correctly (creating a PH far too high for plants) and they tend to produce mediocre results for me.
    I've switched to using the 'ecotraction pro' brand Ice gripper products (you want the pro version as it's a coarser particle size). It's much cheaper, less than half the price of the cheapest aquarium zeolites I could find, and it seems to keep my nutrient solution parameters where they should be.

      Thank you for the tip on the the ecotraction "pro", I was about to get it and would have bought the standard size.

    This is so interesting! Had not yet heard of Pon. Have you ever considered selling your propagated babies?

    I certainly agree the Hoya is a Krimson Princess. You said you were "pretty sure" so just wanted to give an additional confirmation.

    How do you water them? With a reservoir, do you have to have a wick?

    Great video. How do you fertilize plants in pon?

    • @kylemuff
      @kylemuff  3 года назад +1

      Lechuza pon has a slow release in theirs. But for diy I use marphyl so add nutrients to my plants. And when I need to fertilize I have a foxfarms one

  • @arie_rogers87

    Can you make a list of items in descriptions. That way it's easily found. I'm in the u.s. and things are a bit different and I want to make sure and compare to make sure I can get the best I can of each product

  • @Sahn_Cho

    You didn't add slow release fertilizer?

    Can you use perlite instead of pumice?

    • @kylemuff
      @kylemuff  2 года назад +1

      I guess if you really had to you could. But perlite is a lot lighter and softer than pumice so I don’t think it would be great long term.

    What are you doing to feed your plants in pon?

    • @kylemuff
      @kylemuff  2 года назад +1

      In lechuza pon they have a fertilizer already mixed in. But for diy I’ve seen people use osmocote or nutrients like leca. So using the general hydroponics solutions.
